Study of selfpresentation of artist in the Italian painting of the 16th century
Vítová, Kateřina ; Konečný, Lubomír (advisor) ; Zlatohlávek, Martin (referee) ; Zapletalová, Jana (referee)
Study of self-presentation of artist in the Italian painting of the 16th century - abstract Italian art of the 16th century, known as the Cinquecento, is undoubtedly a captivating chapter of art history. No less interesting are the lives of artists from that time, the understanding of self-value and its presentation, creating the artist's identity, i.e. their "artistic self". Within a century we may observe the transformation from a craftsman to an artist, and subsequently artist- the courtier. The main representatives of this "movement", trying to raise the status of arts and artists in the society, were Giorgio Vasari and Federico Zuccari. Each represented a different generation of artists; however, figures of both these painters are complemented in a curious way. There are moments when their lives meet and, in a certain way, follow one another. It is one of the reasons, why the connection Vasari-Zuccari is suitable for understanding social situation or the self-presentation of central Italian artists in the 16th century. It is almost as if this duo was representing a fictitious art figure of the Cinquecento, whose life began 1511 (with the birth of Giorgio Vasari) and ended in 1609 (with the death of Federico Zuccari) and by studying this figure we discover the development of artists' self-concept and...

Macháček, Roman ; Kladný, Tomáš (advisor) ; Řehořová, Irena (referee)
In this diploma thesis I will deal with verbal and visual expressions of selected electoral campaigns. Especially the campaigns of Barack Obama and Andrej Babiš, selected on the basis of distinct similarities, but also the campaigns of Karel Schwarzenberg and Miloš Zeman competing during the presidential election. I will introduce the techniques and strategies of political marketing in different media types. I will also describe the functioning and effects of a political self-representation. I will also examine the ideological function of a political campaign. I will use the critical discourse analysis of individual campaigns as a method of my research. My work will be based on different definitions of ideology, especially Althusser's, and Barthes' concept of amplification. Another tool will be an iconologic interpretation of the above mentioned campaigns. I will draw from Vilém Flusser's communicology, but also from the works of Pierre Bourdieu and Susan Sontag. In my work I will also pursue the concept of media reality that affects our daily lives. In this part I will be based on Niklas Luhmann and Jean Baudrillard and his theory of simulacra.

The age range of users is from 18 years, divided into free age groups, with the assumption of differences that arise in the course of the investigation. The work has a theoretical and empirical character, where the theoretical part is devoted to gradual changes in society with the advent of new technologies. Qualitative research that answers the main research question and the other partial research questions, was conducted by semistructured interviews. The results can serve as a theoretical basis for future research in the field of social networking, especially the application Instagram. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Pešavová, Monika ; Fišerová, Michaela (advisor) ; Černý, Vladimír (referee)
Photo Album and its Transformation in Cyberspace Abstract My thesis deals with the difference in the perception of photo albums in the digital and analog era. Her goal is the reflection of change of a collection of a photographic material from an intimate information to a publicly accessible online self-presentation. This leads to the change in functionality of the photographical media which originally preserved the reality and now creates it. It's the excess of modification of modern photos which leads to the slow intentional return to the past back from the digital to the analog photography. Bc. Monika Pešavová

Pešková, Tereza ; Hájek, Martin (advisor) ; Mitrenga, David (referee)
Same event, different representations: How do biases differ in mass media and participants descriptions? Abstract The main theme of this thesis is the representation of events by two different perspectives - the media's representation on the one hand and narration of participants on the other. Both of these methods of capturing events stands for an effort to interpret actuality, which attributes importance to it. While in the case of media the important factors are especially those as regulatory requirements, news values or the image of the audience, at the individual level are mainly applied different strategies of self-presentation. Since everyone in the interpretation of reality is affected by their personality or behavior, there are many different images that depict everyday reality which we accept. It is therefore important to be aware of how these representations are created. The goal of the research itself was to explore both of these sources and describe how they differ from one another in case of a representation of the same event (namely Prague Pride Parade 2014). The intention was to find out how the two types of descriptions differ and how are affected. The findings presents on what both types of description have focused, what were the main topics presented and the context in which the event was...
