Feminist anthropology
Purschová, Adéla ; Rychlík, Martin (referee) ; Soukup, Václav (advisor)
A dissertation Feminist Anthropology introduces the branch of cultural anthropology developed in The Seventies of 20th century as a reaction to androcentric approach within this subject and science generally. It charts history of feminist anthropology, its intellectual sources, main theories, terms, scientists and methods. The main focus of the dissertation is on anthropological approach to gender - sexual identity shaped and shared by the culture. The central topic is an exploration, how the gender relations and male and famale spheres have been studied within cultural anthropology and how does the gender of researchers influence the research. Because feminist anthropology has roots in feminist movement, the dissertation initially introduces history and goals of European and American feminism. Feminist anthropology also has found inspiration in many anthropological lines, schools and in other social sciences, which it has used as a base of its theories or has reinterpreted it from gender perspective. The disseration offers view of these intellectual sources. In next part the disseration presents life and work of the first professional women anthropologists like Alice Cunningham Fletcher, Elsie Clews Parsons and Eleanor Burke Leacock. From the golden age of feminist anthropology it offers a view of the most...

Health complaints, coping strategies and cognitive-emotional typology of personality: The analysis of mutual relations
Kohoutek, Tomáš ; Blatný, Marek ; Bréda, M.
The relations between personality and preferred coping strategies on the one hand and psychosomatical issues on the other come under traditional areas of interest in a range of psychological disciplines and schools. Our study adresses relations between partial coping strategies and subjectivelly referred health complaints in both somatical and psychical way and then verification of relations between these complaints and the typology of personality, which is based on Kuhl's PSI - theory. This theory suggests, that coping is one of the most important characteristics of one's personality and related typology (on different theoretical background) refers to older psychodynamical typologies, that enable the formulation of general and specific hypotheses about personality context of psychosomatic issues again.

Comparative study of the structure of income of selected "general beneficial organizations" with attention paid to the theory of contemporary possibilities of funding
Koutník, Gustav ; Dohnalová, Marie (advisor) ; Deverová, Lenka (referee)
The main topic of this study is the Czech civic sector and its organizations. The study is based on the comparison of selected non-governmental non-profit organizations and its funding. The goal is to collect and compare sources from which were these organizations financed in the last few years, to notice possible tendencies for change and to outline potential trends. For the comparison were chosen several "general beneficial organizations", each from the different area of interest. Proposed thesis is that the Czech non-governmental non-profit organizations are relatively dependent on the funding from the public sources and they fight with lack of finances from other sources and therefore are endangered in their economic stability and often also in their mission. Before the comparison part there is a theoretical part which draws on available material about the current situation in the Czech civic sector, management of non-profit organizations, financial management and also on relevant available statistics. This theoretical material is supplemented with interviews with chosen professionals in this branch in order to achieve up-to-dateness of information. The study itself draws on commonly available information about selected NGOs, mainly on annual reports. These sources are supplemented with detailed...

Selection and training of airline pilots
Štěpánková, Dana ; Michalová, Lucie (referee) ; Kocianová, Renata (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the selection and training of airline pilots. The introduction concentrates on the theory of staff recruitment, selection and training, and is followed by the topic of recruitment and selection of air service staff from a more general point of view. Especially emphasized are the minimum requirements which must be met by the vast majority of air service staff. The central part of the text is dedicated to recruitment, selection criteria, selection process and training of airline pilots. The fact, that the majority of requirements for professional pilots is determined by international regulations, affects virtually all personnel processes connected with the employment of pilots. Very specific is the theoretical training of airline pilots, where there is a wide array of choices to acquire the required knowledge for the job. Training plays an important role in the professional career of the airline pilots, and is different from the "usual" staff training from its very foundation. The training comprises of concretely oriented parts, with specific aspects. The training begins before the professional career of an airline pilot, and ends when the pilot leaves the job. The text works with air service specific facts and tries to grasp the whole field predominantly from the viewpoint of...

The International Migration and Labour Markets in the Czech Republic
Buzková, Jana ; Brožová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Bartoň, Petr (referee)
The work is concerned with neoclassical theory of migration describing the behavior of individuals who maximize their utility. These individuals are comparing migration costs and benefits. They choose the country with higher wages. The high of wages is influenced by the quantity and quality of human capital, which the workers own, rate of redistribution of benefits and informedness of employers and workers. Educated workers go to countries where it is possible to evaluate their skills and be more productive. It is also important to include positive externalities which arise from high concentration of professional workers. Skilled and unskilled workers flow to the same direction to western European countries. The Czech Republic is not capable to align in the level of wages with these countries. It is immigration country but the skilled workers don't prefer it. Presently, outflow of skilled workers is compensated by obtaining skilled workers from abroad but in some profession there is their insufficiency. The outflow of skilled people is rising and CR wouldn't be able to cover it from its own resources.

Semiautomatic determination of object heights from a stereopair of aerial images
Šatánek, Petr ; Potůčková, Markéta (advisor) ; Schneider, Michal (referee)
The Thesis considers design and creation of software application, which would enable an evaluation of stereopair aerial photographs, for which the external and internal orientation elements are known. The transformation is based on collinearity condition equations. Within the application, a 3D interface is created, in which all measured points, defining objects, are loaded and a wire model is created. These objects can be automatically found on a neighbouring image using the corresponding point-searching algorithm. The output can be exported into chosen format. The first part of Thesis is dedicated to theory of Java programming, usage of Swing Apllication Framework a third-party libraries. This part also describes basics of photogrammetry and the choice of method for corresponding point-searching algorithm. Also the problematics of coordinate transformation between image space and Earth object space are described. The second part describes the application design and architecture, used technologies (the Java programming language, the Java Swing libraries) and describes questions of basic algorithms (image loading, automated search of corresponding point, results exportation). In the final part created application is tested, the achieved results are summarized and further possibilities of improvement are...

Reconciliation of Work and Family Life - Reflection of the European Law in the Activities of the Czech Government
Vošmik, Josef ; Tomeš, Igor (advisor) ; Koldinská, Kristina (referee)
The problem of reconciliation or work and family life has been of cardinal importance over the past few years not only in the Czech Republic but in most European countries. For most families it is becoming more and more difficult to reconcile the duties connected with the care of children and other dependent persons with the occupation. This situation is caused by many factors such as the growth of women employment, changes in family structure, demographic effects, development of human rights and many others. Social policy must take these aspects into account and carry out such acctivities that will enable families to face the challenges of the present society and won't make them decide either work of family. As a part of theory there are quite many particular methods and ways how to help families to cope with their employment and family duties. Some sources distinguish these strategies among individual and family, employers' strategies and strategies of the welfare state. But the European states differ as to how they view family and social policy as well. In the Czech republic there has been a traditionally high level of women employment rate but the birth of a child has a negative impact on a woman's staying or (re)entry into labour market. The possibilities of flexible work arrangements are highly...
