Balková, Patricie ; Nováková, Olga (advisor) ; Drahota, Zdeněk (referee) ; Šmíd, František (referee)
The role of lipids and ROS in cardioprotective mechanism of chronic hypoxia Cardiovascular diseases, mainly ischemic heart disease is one of the most frequently cause of morbidity and mortality in developed countries. Therefore effective protection of the heart against ischemia and reperfusion injury is the crucial aim of experimental and clinical cardiology. One of the main streams of cardiovascular research is looking for possibilities of natural heart resistance augmentation. Adaptation to chronic hypoxia is one possibility how to protect the heart against ischemia-reperfusion injury. Chronic hypoxia increases resistance of the myocardium to acute deficiency of oxygen leading to vetricular arrythmias, postischemic contractile dysfunction and necrotic changes in the tissue. Recently, it has been shown that reactive oxygen species (ROS) play an important role in the cardioprotective mechanism of chronic hypoxia. It is known that oxidative stress has a harmful effect in acute ischemia-reperfusion however ROS generated during the adaptation to hypobaric intermittent chronic hypoxia play a role in the induction of cardioprotection. In this study, we demonstrated that adaptation of adult rats to chronic hypoxia increased the activity and protein abundance of manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD) in the...

During the work, theoretical bases for the area of creating dashboards have been formed, suitable methodics for evaluating the product have been proposed and last but not least, some exemplary data have also been processed. The work can therefore be divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. In the beginning of the first part, the diploma paper introduces the most important facts from the areas of Business Intelligence a Corporate Performance Management. These facts are the most important starting points when creating dashboards. Following in this part is the dashboard technology itself. The analysis of current evaluating criteria for creating dashboards, and the creation of new criteria are the most important points of this diploma paper. The introduced criteria and their way of use have been designed concerning the various conditions and presumptions in organizations where the application of a dashboard is considered. The last chapter of the theoretical part then introduces the product "Microsoft Office Performance Point Server 2007". In the practical part of the paper, particular data is processed into a dashboard using the mentioned tool. The data used are data of a fictive firm which are used in the teaching subject Business Intelligence at the Economic University in Prague. The process of work with PPS 2007 is described rather in detail. This work can therefore be potentionally put to use also as a case study. In my paper, I focus on children and families, who are socially and culturally disadvantaged. I am trying to explain their living and educational conditions and the way these families bring their children up. In the theoretical part, I mention families with majority society background as well as Roma family - as there are a great number of these families in our society and they have the status of being socially and culturally disadvantaged. To point out the difference in upbringing in these families I also analyse the needs of a child. That enables us to see which needs of a child are not fulfilled in the socially and culturally disadvantaged families. The chapter on the rights of a child should remind us of the fact, that we are all equal regardless of skin colour or of temporary crisis life situation that makes us become socially disadvantaged. In the next part, I write about education of the socially and culturally disadvantaged children. There is description of what kind of education there is for them in our society, if there are appropriate conditions for them or if they differ from the majority society and how this problem is dealt with by the Czech Ministry of Education. The last chapter is focused on the social issue. I mention the help that these families can claim from the government....
