Study of the microRNAs in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

Searching for markers of disease is at the forefront of scientific interest. Biomarker of a specific disease should help in disease management - whether for diagnosing a disease or predicting its progress. We picked microRNAs - short RNAs that regulate mRNA translation, due to their stability and function in the regulation of many cellular processes. Therefore they can be used as a biomarker for many diseases. In our study we focused on neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), since this type of cancer is widespread and clinically important markers are missing. It is in our interest to seek new kinds of markers, suitable for early diagnosis of the disease and the most accurate assessment of prognosis. We selected 3 candidate miRNA (miR-29c-3p, miR-200b-5p, miR-375-3p) and used qRT-PCR method to profile their expression in tissues of patients with HNSCC. MiRNA expressions in 42 tumor samples were compared with the miRNA expression in adjacent tissue of the tumor. Adjacent tissue surrounds the tumor and has interesting properties, as it looks like a histological normal tissue, but on closer inspection it is not. The string quartets of Iša Krejčí

Práce se snažila zachytit rozmanitost Krejčího hudebního vyjadřování a jeho původní přínos pro českou tvorbu předválečné i poválečné doby. Při zkoumání kompoziční práce se dospělo zejména k zajímavým motivickým souvislostem nejen mezi smyčcovými kvartety navzájem, ale i symfoniemi, na které dostupná literatura nepoukazuje; vidíme tedy, že Iša Krejčí dokázal vedle všeobecně zdůrazňovaného klasicizujícího nádechu, hravosti i humoru ve svých kompozicích přemýšlet a hudební materiál zkoncentrovat do pevné formové struktury. Některé otázky, na které zde už nezbyl prostor a čas, však stále zůstávají otevřeny. Jednak by bylo určitě (z důvodů některých zjištěných motivických souvislostí) zajímavé hlubší porovnání s dalšími jeho díly (zejména se symfoniemi), případně i podrobnější srovnání neoklasických impulsů u většího množství smyčcových kvartetů vzniklých v českých zemích; jednak podrobnější pohled na styčné body kompoziční práce Iši Krejčího s některými francouzskými autory (kromě některých autorů pařížské Šestky by si zasluhovalo porovnání třeba s některými díly méně známého autora Jeana Francaixe), zejména pokud jde o motivickou práci a harmonickou složku.

The question of the effectiveness of public service

V předkládané diplomové práci se budeme zabývat problematikou efektivnosti veřejné služby. Fenomén veřejné služby a její výkon patří k aktuálním tématům společenských věd a společnosti jako celku. Zájem o veřejnou službu je spojen s úlohou moderního státu v dnešní společnosti. Současné hodnocení státu vychází z jeho převažující tendence k nedostatečné reflexi dané společenské situace a požadavků dnešních občanů. Je proto patrná snaha přizpůsobit státní správu a samosprávu aktuálním společenským podmínkám a najít nové nástroje zvyšování efektivnosti veřejné služby. Sociologický pohled a teorie řízení řeší tuto otázku z hlediska svých teorií a přístupů k byrokratickým organizacím. Jednotlivé práce se liší v teoretickém přístupu i ve volbě jednotlivých zkoumaných znaků. Zhruba od počátku dvacátého století je patrný zájem o zdokonalení byrokratických organizací, ten je však také spojen s úsilím mnoha společenských vědců demonstrovat jejich nedokonalost. V dnešním společenském diskursu se objevuje debata o tom, zda silné ekonomické, sociální a technologické změny zapříčinily, že tradiční výkon veřejné služby je nedostačující. Sociologie organizace a řízení přispěla svými teoriemi ke zkoumání efektivnosti veřejné služby.

Business Intelligence: problem of data quality and possibilities of his solution

Význam analytických nástrojů a především Business Intelligence neustále roste. Je s ním ale spojena řada problémů. K nejvýznamnějším patří právě datová kvalita. Nástroje BI jsou totiž založeny na datech, která když nejsou kvalitní, nemohou být kvalitní ani výstupy. BI navíc představuje poměrně nákladnou investici, pro jeho úspěch je tak nezbytné se problémem zabývat a hledat řešení. Práce se zabývá významem datové kvality, hodnotí obecné možnostmi čištění a vybrané dodavatele řešení kvality dat. Dále rozebírá faktory, které limitují úspěšnost konečného řešení. Poskytuje tak pohled na významné charakteristiky problému datové kvality a možnosti jeho řešení.

Capabilities and bariers in social worker's profession in Usti region

This theses, called "Chances and restrains in social worker's profession in Ústí region" is dealing with social worker's profession in self-government context. It's setting off social workers from non-profit organizations. During beginning it's talking about theoretical basis, inevitably bound with social work's field, with focusing on social worker as part of assisting profession. It is, in particular, about opportunities or on the contrary about restrains/limits/barriers, which affects this field of specific self- governing area - Štětí city. Concretely it is about participants, which have here influence on life of local people/potential clients. All under surveillance of superior agency - higher self-government area - social work's methodologists of Ústí region. Research part of this thesis is based on semi-structured interview of previously mentioned participants, which gives overlook how each and every one of them sees limitations in practical social work's overlooks. The transformation of the European Union institutions

Important role in the integration process is played by the EU institutions. The subject of the thesis are description and analysis of the transformation of the European institutions, reforms of the founding treaties and the law of the Union. The theoretical part provides the reader with an overview of the EU institutions, their structure, competences and development. At the end, the theoretical part deals with problems of the institutions, provides solutions and indicates potential trends of the EU institutions developement. The empirical part deals with the interests and opinions of the Czech public on the EU functioning EU. The results provided that the public is aware of their electoral rights, know their representatives and watches how they vote. Although the public is not satisfied with the functioning of the EU chooses the option to remain in the Union.

Balance of payments of Poland in 1999-2015

This bachelor thesis focuses on development of balance of payments of Poland in the period of 1999-2015. In the first chapter, the thesis introduces theoretical principles concerning the balance of payments, it also provides the look at its structure, accounts and indicators which are used for the analysis of the shape of the external economic balance. Second chapter is dedicated to the analysis of Poland`s balance of payments itself. In the analysis, the most important transactions and visible trends are pointed out using numerous graphical attachments. In the third chapter, based on analyzed data and chosen indicators, the evaluation of the shape of the external economic balance of Poland is provided. The conclusion contains a brief summary of the examined development and the final opinion regarding the long-term sustainability.

Jedina cesta, jak se pokusit rekonstruovat autochthonnf pohled na lidskou obet' v Mezoamerickem staroveku, je ponofit se do primamfch pramenu. Zatfmco pro klasicke obdobf predstavuje zakladnf a nejdulezitejsf zdroje epigraficky material a ikonografie, pro informace 0 poklasickem obdobf muzeme disponovat kolonialnfmi texty psanymi v latince, a to jak pffmo zaznamy oralnf ci hieroglyficke literatury (knihy Chilama Balama, Popol Vuh, Cantares de Dzitbalche atd.), tak zpravami spanelskych lokalnfch autorit a misionaru o jimi spravovane zemi (kronika biskupa Landy nebo Relaciones hist6rico-geograficas). Kontrast lidske obeti a sebeobeti vyvstava v primamfch textech zcela jednoznacne.
