HPLC analysis of the clinically used drug - dexrazoxane
Pecuchová, Vladimíra ; Vrbatová, Ivana (referee) ; Kovaříková, Petra (advisor)
1. ABSTRACT High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) is a progressive analytic method which belongs among the most frequently used separation techniques. Iron is an irreplaceable biogenous element, which is involved in many important biochemical processes in human body. However, under specific pathophysiological conditions its severe effects may occur. Anthracycline cytostatics belong to the frequently used drugs for the treatment of various hematologic malignity and solid tumors. Their most important toxic effect is cardiotoxicity. Anthracyclines are able to form complexes with iron that are very redox active. They produce by the cyclic mechanism the high amount of cytotoxic hydroxyl radicals. This mechanism is believed together with own redox ability of anthracyclines molecule to be responsible for the drugs cardiotoxicity. Dexrazoxane, bisdioxopiperazine derivative, is the only clinically used drug for the treatment of anthracycline induced cardiotoxicity. It is supposed, that dexrazoxane is bioactivated inside the cardiomyocytes to active metabolite - ADR-925. Iron chelating ability of ADR-925 is believed to be responsible for the cardioprotective effect of dexrazoxane. This work is aimed at development of the optimal mass spectrometry compatible chromatographic conditions for the separation of...

Zorka Ságlová
Bučilová, Lenka ; Klimešová, Marie (advisor) ; Juříková, Magdalena (referee)
Zorka Ságlová was born in Humpolec on 14 August 1942. Between 1961 and 1966 she studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague in the textile studio of Antonín Kybal. From informel paintings she moved to structures created out of basic geometrical elements based on a particular textile structure - sateen weave. In 1968 she exhibited her works at the New Sensitivity, an exhibition presenting new tendencies of constructive art, and she became a part of this important phenomenon in Czech art. Her latest objects presented at this exhibition led her to the idea of the viewer as an active participant on the creation of her artworks. This resulted in four actions taking place in the open landscape and an event called Hay, straw in the prestigious Gallery of Václav Špála in 1969. For this work she was largely critisized by the communist media as well as the Czech artistic community. This all led to her isolation in the 70's and 80's. From 1976 she created a series of tapestries. During this work she discovered a rabbit/hare as her emblematic symbol for a long period. She started to collect all relevant information about its significance in various cultures. In 1984 she returned to painting. She updated her structures based on sateen weave by using thousands of rabbit silhouettes instead of...

The Graduation paper is directed at the validation of touch capabilities of visually impaired children of the age 13-17 years, through application of STIP test. STIP, developed in United Kingdom, is transformed into doted Braill code and verifies the speed of reading the numbers. Accuracy vs. error rate in the lines, speed of reading and concentration (attention) will be assessed. On the basis of the test evaluation aligned with relevant manual, the performance of children is compared with the UK children in the same age category. Following the comparison, the overall evaluation of this research is performed.

Dissertations of the Faculty of Arts at the German University in Prague in the period 1938/39-1945 (history studies)

Title: Sports and physical activities m patient with quadriplegia as a complement of physiotherapy. The aims of the work: The aim of the work was to show training effect on physiological capacity of man with quadriplegia by spirometry, ergometry and motoric tests and by the Spínal Cord Independent Measure (SCIM) and interview to sum up how the physical capacity changes influence the psychical condition and daily life activities managing. The other aim was to make some guide for people with the sirnilar dificulties and to show them how could improve their abilities with the help of sport. Methods: The work has character of case study. We realized three exarninations of ergometry, antropometric parameters, spirometry, motoric tests and observed the changes during one year. Patient filled up the SCIM at the begining and in the end of monitored year and was interviewed because of himself subjective level rating in the end. Results: After four months of training (the first exarnination) all measured physiological factors on ergometry got better. Spirometry was also quiet better. There was no evident changes in motoric tests. In the end of observing, after one year, majority of physiological factors was lower than after four months, but almost all of them achieved higher level than at the begining....

The Ability of the Financial Statements of Insolvent Companies to Provide Reliable Information
Hospodka, Jan ; Randáková, Monika (advisor) ; Bokšová, Jiřina (referee)
This thesis aims to analyse the financial statements of entities that filed for bankruptcy in 2015. Firstly, the theoretical part of the thesis provides explanations for technical jargon in relation to insolvency and subsequent proceedings in relation to entities that went bankrupt. Secondly, it also elucidates related legislation through analysis of particular items in financial statements - the balance sheet and the profit and loss statement - to determine the problematic indicators within these statements that can aversely influence the ability of financial analysis to provide accurate and reliable information regarding the financial health of the entity. Finally, the last theoretical chapter addresses the advantages and limitations of the particular financial ratios and analysis that is used in the subsequent practical part of the thesis. The goal of the practical part of the thesis was to determine the ability of the analysed financial ratios to provide reliable information to shareholders and third parties to assess company health, and also scrutinise potential limitations. Since the thesis focuses on bankruptcy, the researcher analysed financial statements from three years prior to their bankruptcy. The aim was to determine whether the analysis, and in particular, which financial ratios could raise red flags and predict the nearing financial difficulties these entities were about to endure.
