Jozífek, Radek ; Bednařík, Petr (advisor) ; Benda, Josef (referee)
Thesis "Federalization of Czechoslovakia in 1968 and its reflection in Czech and Slovak daily press" deals with the way selected Czech and Slovak newspapers reflected preparations and enactment of "Czechoslovak federation Act". Thesis is composed of four parts. The first describes history and evolution of relations between Czechs and Slovaks: foundation of their common state, creation of separate Slovak state, reconstruction of the republic after Second World War and later events. It explains why federalization was so important topic for Slovaks in 1968. The second part explores the situation of media in Czechoslovakia in 1968, when the censorship was banned during liberalization process of "Prague Spring". However, this process was cut off by the invasion of members of Warsaw Pact to the country. The third part is concerned with "Czechoslovak federation Act" itself, frames this important amendment of "Socialist" constitution from 1960 in Czech constitutional history. The fourth part reviews the way how Czech (Rudé právo, Svobodné slovo, Lidová demokracie) and Slovak newspapers (Pravda, Hlas ľudu, Smer) reflected federalization in selected time periods of 1968 and 1969.

Evolution of mastigont in Excavata
Táborský, Petr ; Čepička, Ivan (advisor) ; Hampl, Vladimír (referee)
In recent years we have been discovering a huge diversity of eukaryotic organisms. One of the big super-groups is Excavata. Examination of the organisms from this group is fairly important as far as theoretical and practical reasons are concerned. A significant number of authors believe that there is the root of all eukaryotic organisms in this group. And what is more, a lot of studies prove the point. Within Excavata group we can find the organisms with the most primitive mitochondrial genome which is known. Several other representatives are an important human pathogenes. In the first part of the thesis I focus on the historical review of the creation of the super-group Excavata and I also include a part regarding the theory about Archezoa. The next section deals with the general description of mastigont (basal bodies and cytoskeleton that is associated with them). The last part presents mastigont descriptions of some derived representatives of Excavata. Some of these organisms may be free-living and some live inside other organisms.

ARTĚL - The Idea, Activities and Noteworthy Figures in the Association
Skopalová, Markéta ; Rakušanová, Marie (advisor) ; Novotná, Eva (referee)
Synopsis The thesis opens up by reviewing the situation in arts and crafts in the wake of the 20th century. Imperfectly managed transition to mass production caused lower quality. As a result, movements for raising quality arose in Europe. These arts and crafts societies are introduced. The British Arts and Crafts Movement, the Werkstätte in Dresden, the German Werkbund, and the Wiener Werkstätte influenced the Czech scene the most. They became models for the first Czech society of this kind, the Prague Artěl. The history of Artěl is discussed, in particular its creation, development, participation in exhibitions, and links to other organisations. In its final part, the thesis introduces Artěl's most important members and their works. Artel, Prague art group, Arts and crafts, Applied art, 1st half of 20th century

Feeding artery of vascular accesses for hemodialysis: model of arterial adaptation to high blood flow
Tuka, Vladimír ; Malík, Jan (advisor) ; Vízek, Martin (referee) ; Zicha, Josef (referee)
Background: Arteries adapt their diameter to changing haemodynamic conditions to maintain constant wall shear stress, the force generated by flowing blood on endothelial cells. The feeding artery of haemodialysis vascular accesses is a human model of arterial adaptation to chronically high blood flow and thus to high wall shear stress. The process of arterial adaptation is endothelium dependent. Endothelial dysfunction related to End-Stage Renal Failure, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia may impair also the dilatation of the feeding artery of vascular accesses. First the review of the literature presents in three parts different aspects of arterial adaptation: 1) arterial adaptation with focusing on the role of haemodynamic factors, 2) the influence of end-stage renal disease on arterial adaptation, 3) feeding artery of vascular accesses as a model of arterial response to chronic increase in blood flow. Methods: We examined the feeding artery of radial and brachial polytetrafluoroethylene grafts shortly after and one and two years after access creation. We used duplex ultrasonography to obtain internal diameter and blood velocity in the feeding arteries. We calculated wall shear rate as 4 x blood velocity / internal diameter and used it as approximation of wall shear stress. Results: In the first study we...

Practical part represents three tapered established variants of the possible innovative solutions of the problem - "shelter...

European public sphere - analysis of the media discourse
Šedivá, Lucie ; Müller, Karel (advisor) ; Faturová, Marie (referee)
The bachelor thesis is based on the assumption that the formation of a European public sphere is desirable. In order to successfully tackle problems that transcend the boundaries of nation states, a majority of votes at the transnational level is necessary . If EU decision-making is to be considered legitimate, it is necessary to create a European public sphere, that would control the policy of the EU. In the first part of the work, the thesis deals with the assumptions, forms, and conditions of the creation of a European public sphere. The work justified the view that the formation of a European public sphere is possible and the conditions of its creation are determined. In the second part of this thesis, the political news of Czech public television CT and German public television ZDF are reviewed. CT currently broadcasts more programs concerning the EU and European issues are expressed with better quality. Both CT and ZDF inform the public about what is happening in the EU from a national perspective and in their programs, they do not discuss the specifics of EU policy.
