THE EVALUATION OF PRAGUE´S SIGNAL FESTIVAL´S IMPACT ON THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE TOURISM REGION
Strunová, Silvie ; Silovská, Hana (advisor) ; Vochozková, Jacqueline (referee)
This thesis focuses on evaluation of Prague's Signal festival, organized in 2013 and 2015, and it's impact on regional development in Prague and the Czech Republic as a whole, from economic, social and cultural stand point. The theoretical part puts emphasis on explanation of tourism, specifically event tourism, and cultural events. Quantitative data analysis in practical part proves that the festival was successful in bringing in higher number of visitors of the city. The number of visitors throughout the duration of the festival was higher than during comparable time periods and that Signal festival was clearly a decisive factor for visits, which allows us to draw conclusion that the festival supports tourism in the region. Calculations presented in this thesis prove that city council's financial contribution to 2014 Signal festival indirectly contributed to national budget as well as direct economic contributions to regional budgets, due to increased spending by visitors and other economic activity. Empirical examination demonstrates festival's positive impact on region's cultural life, better perception of public spaces by residents and the sustainable development of tourism region.

The study of sediments and speleothems in the Zbrašov Aragonite Caves
Bosák, Pavel ; Šlechta, Stanislav ; Hercman, H. ; Pruner, Petr
The numerical dating of hydrothemal speleothems (doughnuts) from locality At Crocodile gave older data than was published in the literature: 123 to 127 thousand years (with range 108 to 144 thousand years). Speleothems crystallized in the time of climatic optimum of the last interglacial period (Eemian) corresponding to the marine isotope stage (MIS) 5e. Clastic sediments from excavations in the area At Crocodile show normal paleomagnetic polarity in all samples with nearly recent magnetic field directions. Studied sediments cover block of hydrothermal speleothems fallen from the wall and therefore they must be younger than 108 thousand years.

Formant field characteristics of low vowels in standard British English
Syslová, Jana ; Skarnitzl, Radek (referee) ; Volín, Jan (advisor)
Standard British English vowels have always drawn ample attention among phoneticians. It is certainly due to the fact that Standard British English served as a referential variety not only for educational purposes. However, few of the studies analysed data drawn from natural connected speech. Mostly artificial conditions created for measuring the acoustic properties of vowel formant frequencies resulted in vowels relatively neatly separated, whereas studies of connected speech usually reveal considerable overlaps between the regions of vowels in the vowel space. Earlier studies have reported on the effects of different immediate environment on vowels, yet these also derive from controlled speech recorded in laboratory conditions. Data collected in this manner are further used to describe vowel changes over certain time periods and they also serve in research of vowel perception. In comparison to that, the aim of the present study was to analyse the formant field characteristics of Standard British English vowels in a representative sample of connected speech. The study is confined only to the low vowel region of Standard British English mainly because of the extent of analysis that would have to be conducted if all the vowels were included. Besides that, the region of the English low vowels has a special...

At the same time the paper offers the strategy for viral campaign creation, it focuses on viral principles on Facebook, Twitter, and video sharing. The third chapter examines 3 Czech viral campaigns from Aquila, T-Mobile and Fernet Stock. The work is concluded by the two-part research: quantitative (made via questionnaires) and qualitative (focus group). The research gathered useful data on the internet usage in the Czech Republic and on perception of viral marketing in the population.

Traumatic injury of peripheral nerves represents an important area of present-day clinical and experimental interest. Despite a large quantity of experimental data acquired in an intense research of this topic carried out in recent years, traumatic affection of peripheral nerves continues to be a complex surgical problem. Injury of peripheral nerves often results in a permanent and serious impairment in the patients' lives connected with the loss of the affected peripheral nerve function. If an injured nerve is given a timely and correct treatment, these consequences can be prevented to a certain extent. In the current practice this implies the use of all available methods of peripheral nerves surgery, primarily microsurgical operation technique while observing some of the basic principles essential for a good functional reinervation. This mainly applies to tension-free suture. In some anatomic locations and despite observing the above-mentioned facts, it is still difficult to reach good functional results. This primarily applies to brachial plexus injury which is one of the most complicated and serious of all lesions of peripheral nerves. Out of the total number of nerve injuries they are represented in large sets by three to seven percent. In his set, Midha reports 1.2% of patients affected by the...

A phenomenological view of colour
Zhu, Pingbo ; Sepp, Hans Rainer (advisor) ; Novotný, Karel (referee)
Masterthesis Eine phänomenologische Betrachtung der Farbe A phenomenological view of colour Pingbo Zhu Every colour theory begs a space theory. A main aim of the space theory is to catch the core of knowledge: through knowing something we can know the world outside of us. This thesis is to illustrate a different way of defining colour by introducing a phenomenological way of talking about space. This question will thus be answered: why is colour a quality of an object and at the same time a content of sensation of subject? Thus a solution probably is that colour is a phenomenological bridge of objects and subjects. Some philosophers, who hold a standpoint of physicalism may argue that all mental states and activities can be reduced thoroughly to physical states and activities. Another claim would be that all sensations are the results of the activities of brain nerves. But in the following paragraphs I will analyse why a colour theory with the standpoint of physicalism cannot explain away colour. A phenomenological view of colour will therefore emphasize the necessity of the independence of mental activities, in other words, sensations and perceptions, which give rise to a better explanation of colour.

HOUSE ON THE EDGE – Valašské Meziříčí, Sokolská Street
Adamec, Karel ; Uřídilová, Marcela (referee) ; Hybská, Bohumila (advisor)
Site lies on the border of two different worlds, in every sense. On the south side panel covers housing, which is dominated by residential building with eight floors. The whole estate has a classic "prefabricated" character - high impersonal monoblocks, including the free space that is used mainly for parking to local residents. The settlement grew in the 60 Valasske Mezirici The last century in places the original buildings. At least the historic center, which in this case is that the next world, with more or less of this "renewal" withstood and stayed here preserved the original area. Much of the historical buildings here and gone and the edges of the center contain many places where he's an empty space in a number of historic buildings. From this problem arose the concept of the new proposed house. Because the differences between the two places are drastic, it responds to the concept of 'closure to polosoukromého courtyard ", which is accessible from both sides of the passages, so not open to any environment, but even before it does not close completely. The building responds to the diversity of both the environment and create a transition between them. The first problem is the scale, it was necessary to build on the gable wall of the historic house and Mikyšková along with copying the shape of compact street line to complete the installation of street. The main function of the building is housing, particularly because the function of housing is lost from the historical center, as well as in other cities. Vnitroblokový character of the house allows its residents to create their own community that can see each other and live in the courtyard of the house and around the world will not have much effect on their privacy or comfort. The northern part of the building with spacious balconies opening to the courtyard and allows both people to spend their leisure time, it also serves as the summer sun shading. At ground floor level balcony creates a console arcade board, which can serve any of the rest of the population. The rest of the building facade is characterized by a simple "dotted with windows having movable shading panels. These are used primarily for shade or sun lamps at night, or simply need to be close to the outside world. One of the requirements of the proposal was to retain the existing 80 parking places on the current car park and parking add them to the object itself. The problem is solved by means of underground garage accessible from the south side of the building.

Pluhař, Jiří ; Pospíšil, Ctirad Václav (advisor) ; Novotný, Vojtěch (referee)
