TITLE: Possibilities of interactive whiteboard in education ABSTRAKT: The dissertation is focused on the usage of didactic technology especially interactive whiteboards in education of mathematics in elementary and secondary schools. The theoretical part deals with particular types of whiteboards and software of different companies. It introduces the basics and possibilities in use of interactive whiteboard in education of mathematics. The dissertation also contains processed and practice-tested lessons created by ACTIV Studio software for the chosen subject of the mathematics curriculum - Sets. This effort should be a good inspiration for all pedagogues in their initial work with interactive whiteboards. Issue of the use of modern technologies in managing the current kindergarten

The thesis is concerned with the use of computers and ICT technology in nursery schools in the Czech Republic, those in particular where children have the opportunity to work with Kid Smart computers. The assignment should chart and analyze the information and communication literacy of school directors, to document available ICT technologies suitable for nursery schools, and define potential barriers that prevent their wider usage and to propose measures to directors that would lead to a gradual overcoming of these issues. A comparison with the situation abroad includes schools in Iceland and Portugal. A portion of this thesis deals with research regarding this topic and its subsequent evaluation. The assignment should provide directors with a well arranged description of available ICT for nursery schools and should familiarize them with the appropriate software for managing administration.
Conditions for the development of digital literacy of preschool children

Irena Fialová, CSc. ABSTRACT This thesis analysis possibilities and directions of the development of digital literacy by preschool children. It describes the ways of creation and the construction of children's information-technology competencies in preparation for the first grade of elementary school. The theoretical part defines some basic terms such as digital literacy, ICT literacy and others, it describes specifics of development of the child's preschool and shows the possibilities of using of digital technology in nursery school. The practical part of the thesis investigates how information technologies are incorporated into the education of children in nursery school; it investigates development of information-technology competencies of children of preschool age by work on computer and by interview of children and of their parents. On the basis of the discovered facts are showed ways for the development of the information-technological competencies of preschool children. Employment of multimedia in chemistry education at high schools in the Czech Republic

Bachelor thesis deals with multimedia support for teaching chemistry in secondary schools. Clarify reader the possibility of using ICT, not only in chemistry education. These technologies have an important role in modern teaching and learning process. Part of this work is the creation and evaluation of the questionnaire survey, which gives a rough overview on the prevalence and use of multimedia and multimedia applications in Czech schools.
Information and Communication Technologies - Economic and Social Aspects

This work is focused on the development of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the 21st century and their social and economic aspects. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to the history of the nowadays commonly used information and communication technologies, such as personal computer, mobile phone and internet. The second chapter describes the development of ICT in the context of individuals, households and businesses. The third section focuses on information economy with regard to the events in the ICT sector, expenditures, investments and foreign commerce with ICT. The next chapter studies social networks in detail, as strong marketing and economic instruments and further studies their development up to the present form. The fifth chapter deals with the positive and negative social and economic aspects of ICT and their combination. The main question of this paper is whether the benefits of ICT outweigh the negatives, now and in the future. The analysis of the paper comes to the conclusion that, the positives still prevail but it will be needed to minimize the negative impacts of ICT in the social field in the future and make the Internet safer.
Content and Language Integrated Learning with ICT using the Interactive Whiteboard

The main goal of the diploma thesis "Content and Language Integrated Learning with ICT using the Interactive Whiteboard" is to provide a comprehensible assessment of the potential benefits of employing CLIL during ICT lessons. The thesis focuses on the recent history of CLIL and its roots as well as the official support it receives from the European Union. This work also takes a look at the advantages CLIL has to offer and why anybody should consider using it. This work goes on to suggest some basic questions a teacher should ask him/herself when considering whether to employ CLIL or not. The Practical Part is focused on creating a series of activities that may serve as an example of using CLIL during ICT lessons while making use of the Interactive Whiteboard, one of the new tools that is available to an increasing number of schools. The Practical Part also includes sample files to be opened on the Interactive Whiteboard, the age range of learners for whom the activity is intended, their learning context, aims and expected learning outcomes for each activity as well as the kinds of tasks included in each activity and the expected problems. Information and Communication Technologies in the Lifestyle of the Czech Population

The dissertation deals with the position of information and communication technologies in the lifestyle of the Czech society and the changes occurring in relation to these technologies. First of all, the basic conceptions of information and knowledge society are described and identified. In the next part, lifestyle is defined from theoretical and methodological standpoints for the concept to be operationalized for further analysis. In the analytical part, the author uses the results of a series of representative quantitative empirical research, in which she participated, examining, through the typical indicators, the place of information and communication technologies in the entire population, the pace of implementing the technologies, and the differences in various demographic groups using the technologies. The last part of the dissertation includes an empirical construction of lifestyle based on the two factors which are considered fundamental (leisure and values), also presenting an analysis, in the framework of different lifestyles, of specific aspects in making use of the information and communication technologies.
