Body and sexuality in San Camilo 1936

In the Bachelor's thesis Body and Sexuality in the Novel San Camilo 1936, we are going to pursue some of the principal themes of this work; these are based on depictions of the human body in its physical form, i.e. disease, injury, death, external appearance of the characters, and various aspects of sexuality. In order to get to analyze the respective themes, it is neccessary to get to know the author first. It's Camilo José Cela, often noted as one of the greatest novelists of the 20th century, a winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1989 and various other awards. Beside novels, Cela also wrote poetry, travelogs, plays, essays, short stories and newspaper articles. He is famous for his novel La Familia de Pascual Duarte (The Family of Pascual Duarte), introducing the new literary trend tremendism to the world of literature. The term tremendism is derived from the Spanish word 'tremendo', which can be translated as terrible, horrifying, raising fear etc. This by itself gives us an idea about this style's characteristics, which we are going to present in the following text. The development of criminal punishment for homosexual activity and sodomy in the Czech republic This thesis deals with the development of the criminalization of homosexual intercourse and sodomy in the Czech Republic. The aim of this work is to monitor the development of decriminalization of homosexual intercourse and, marginally, sodomy with an emphasis on the period from 1852 to the present. The work is conceived as an analysis of criminal provisions applicable during the period and at the same time monitoring the circumstances that led to decriminalization. The following are examples of punishments for homosexual conduct and sodomy as stated by selected decisions of the courts. The work is divided into an introduction, followed by the monitored period into four parts, and these parts are divided into sections and subsections, followed by a conclusion. The first part follows the historical period from antiquity to 1852, where each time period is described very briefly, with emphasis on the relevant provisions of penial laws for homosexual intercourse and bestiality. The second part follows the period between 1852 and 1961. Homophobia among student groups from the teacher's perspective

This bachelor thesis focuses on how school teachers perceive the issue of homophobia among student groups. The aim of this work was to explore the thoughts and impressions of homophobia in school environment from the perspective of elementary school and grammar school teachers. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters. The first chapter describes the concept of sexuality and defines its particular components and basic information about homosexuality. I especially focused on the sociological-cultural concept of sexuality and its relation to homophobia. Second chapter discusses the changes in cognitive, affective and social development during adolescence. Last chapter focuses on the subject of sexuality and homophobia in school environment and addresses the issue of homophobic harassment and bullying. In the empirical part I described my research and analyzed semi-structured interviews with elementary and grammar school teachers. Pedagogical view on the upbringing of children by homosexual couples

This Master's Thesis approaches the phenomen of upbringing of children by lesbian and gay couples. It deals with primary school teachers' attitude to the question of homosexuality and homoparentality. In the theoretical part, the issues such as family, gender, gender role and identity are introduced. Thereafter the work is focused on the concept of gay and lesbian families, the legal aspects of homoparentality and the possible approach to parenting by the same-sex couples. The thesis also presents some of the realized researches into homoparentality. Part of these studies covers a potentional influence of upbringing by same- sex parents on child's development. Second part comprises the researches focused on parental experience of gays and lesbian women. The last chapter of theoretical part deals with the conception of homosexuality and education at schools. The aim of the practical part is to find out what the attitude of primary school teachers to homosexuality and homoparentality is really like, whether and how these topics are taught and how the attitude of teachers is reflected in teaching/lessons. Emotional intelligence and its comparison among heterosexual and homosexual people

The aim of the theoretical part of the thesis is emotional intelligence and the overview of changes in understanding this construct since its establishment. Furthermore, the thesis provides a summary of two significant models of emotional intelligence as well as a survey of existing means of its measurement and enumeration of studies focused on the connection between emotional intelligence and particular aspects of life. Finally, the theoretical part of the thesis explores the possibilities of developing emotional intelligence. The practical part uses quantitative research to analyse individual differences in emotional intelligence by comparing the levels of emotional intelligence between homosexual and heterosexual population. The findings revealed a significant difference between trait emotional intelligence of homosexual and heterosexual men. Moreover, the results also verify the difference in overall emotion regulation and emotion regulation strategy of emotion suppression between heterosexuals and homosexuals. The findings also support the claim that women have higher emotional intelligence than men and that the individuals who regard themselves as physically healthy have higher emotional intelligence than those who consider themselves as seriously ill. Registered Partnership and its Legal Consequences in Relation to Alternative Family Care

This thesis deals with the issue of two today very important institutes, namely the registered partnership and the alternative family care. The aim of the thesis is to focus on areas where the two institutes overlap. Current registered partnership legislation contains some problematic provisions in relation to forms of alternative family care. The text of the thesis has focused on the description of these problem areas and try to outline possible future changes even in the context of the situation on the international level.
Attitudes towards Homosexuality in Relation to Adoption of Children in Society Today

The aim of the work is to explore attitude of society to homosexuality in connection with potential children adoption. The first part of the thesis is aimed at defining the term of homosexuality, clarifying its origins and summarizing its history. There are also described attitude changes in present society in connection with homosexual emancipation. Attention is devoted to the fact, how it is reflected in attitudes of society in working and school environment and also in context of friendly relationships. The last part of the thesis is devoted to topic of homoparentality, what is children upbringing by homosexual partners. Discussed is also potential influence of parents' sexual orientation when children are raised by gay or lesbian couple. Issues of adoption of children from institutional care, a child adoption by the other partner and foster care are also studied. Results of the research, whose aim was to map attitude of humanist and technical oriented men and women to non-heterosexuality and possible child adoption by homosexual families, are presented in the second part of the thesis. Anti-homosexual legislation in Russian territory and it's development

This work is focused on development of anti-homosexual legislation and conditions of decriminalization in the newly established Russian federation. It is focused on attempts to organize Gay Pride festival in Moscow in 2006 and negative reactions of Russian authorities and subsequent lawsuit. The works informs on change in rhetoric with respect to LGBT community, which was cause by medialization of Gay Pride affair as well conservatism that was being established. It describes Russian conservatism that set itself in contrast to the West by its traditional values, which are in alleged conflict with homosexuality. This development reached its summit in 2013 when anti-propagation law was enacted on federal level. We then focus on immediate reaction to enactment of this legislation and its effects. The work draws from academic articles that appeared after enactment of the act and, and importantly also news articles that could capture ensuing event in real time. It becomes apparent that ostracizing of homosexuals in Russia is a long-term trend that is supported by state controlled news agencies and legislative steps. Contemporary Czech Sexology and Homosexuality

7 ABSTRACT This thesis focuses on a textual analysis of articles in the field of sexology, which were published in the Czech Republic after 1989. It will examine through both quantitative and qualitative methods, how authors of sexological articles defined the term homosexuality and worked with it, as well as explore their varying approaches to the topic depending on context. The thesis will ask whether the sexological discourse about homosexuality has changed after the fall of the communist regime, and if it has, in what ways.
