Paradoxes in current civilization in the context of sociology of food
Vojtíšková, Lucie ; Mudd, Dana (referee) ; Duffková, Jana (advisor)
I deal with the relation between food and society in this work. I write about foodways influenced by society and culture, where are these foodways occured. I mention development of food since antique period till this time. I mention role, which played diet in the relation between nations, but even within one society. There are few sociologist, who are interested in food, but in spite of this, this work points out some of them, especially Norbert Elias. I place emphasis on actual themes associated with food and eating. These problems are hunger, obesity, thin cult, eating disorders. Then I point out eating trends like vegetarianism, bio food, genetically modified food, fast food and slow food. The tackled question is why is a lot of food on the one side of the Earth, but there are many people diing of malnutrition on the second side of the Earth. Why people are becoming fatter and fatter in western societies, when thin cult and desire for slim body is very popular. The consequence of this is eating disorders. I draw attention on the new trends in nourishment, there are emphasized healthy diet, however fast food restaurants are still very popular. People start to prefer natural food, nevertheless scientists manipulate with genes and produce genetically modified food. When we look on these paradoxies...

Small games - gobblet - draw strategy
Bureš, Filip ; Majerech, Vladan (advisor) ; Hric, Jan (referee)
Title: Small games - gobblet - draw strategy Author: Bc. Filip Bureš Department: Department of Theoretical Computer Science and Mathematical Logic Supervisor: Mgr. Vladan Majerech, Dr., KTIML Abstract: This diploma thesis focuses on finding a draw strategy in the game "Gobblet" and on finding the proof that the game can be a guaranteed draw. "Gobblet" is a non-cooperative board game for two players with perfect information and zero-sum. The thesis provides the description of algorithms used for finding the proof of the guaranteed draw. The proof was made on a simplified variety of the game (limited to two types of playing pieces only). For this variety of the game, a draw strategy was found; this strategy was confirmed by the means of the above mentioned algorithms. Then, a more complicated variety of the game was tested (limited to three types of playing pieces). For this variety, the proof of the guaranteed draw was not possible to find. The non-success was due to the number of positions the game provides. The proof would not have been possible to make in a reasonable time span. The comprehensive variety of the game (four playing pieces) was not tested for the proof. The thesis merely outlines the method which should be used for finding the draw strategy. Keywords: gobblet, draw, strategy

Macrobius and his influence on the neo-Platonic interpretation of myths
Hlaváček, Jakub ; Putna, Martin C. (advisor) ; Kratochvíl, Zdeněk (referee) ; Pokorný, Martin (referee)
The dissertation outlines the fundamental topics in Macrobius' poetics and philosophy which were to serve as the theoretical grounding for the literature of the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Our main focus was Macrobius' treatment of poetic modes imitations (imitatio) and its relation to a broader philosophical framework wherein poetic modes, viewed as ontological archetypes, represent the world of ideas. We have shown that imitation draws heavily on imagination, which in Late Antiquity became rather highly valued. We have seen that the creative treatment of a textual model (archetype) is rooted in the Stoic analogy of godly and human creative acts. The dissertation explains Macrobius' interpretation of myths and his arguments defending their use in philosophy. I believe that it was Macrobius' defence of the "truth of myths" (albeit we have seen that Macrobius was heavily drawing on Proclos here whose influence, however, was minimal) which lies at the heart of the medieval and Renaissance revival of interest in myths. Finally, we have discussed what role myths and other leading themes of the neo-Platonic and Stoic philosophy of Late Antiquity played in the alchemist literature of the Middle Ages and Renaissance.

Mikhail Bulgakov on the crossroad of prose and theatre way: novel Belaya gvardia and play Dni Turbinykh
Zgoda, Yaroslavna ; Hlaváček, Antonín (advisor) ; Hříbková, Radka (referee)
Mikhail Bulgakov has won the most acknowledgeable position in the world literature of the twentieth century among the Russian writers. His recognition is marked by the steep rise of interest in his works. Nevertheless the difficulty arises in the interpretation and understanding of many diverse associations and signs, which were determined to draw the reader's attention and to calm the anger of the official censorship. His novel "The White Guard" and the play "The days of the Turbins" put a particular stress on the situation of the White movement in 1918 in Kiev. It is all shown through the difficult decisions and choices of the Turbin family, which try to save the old values. The whole revolutionary atmosphere reflects the uncertainties of the historical period. There are many allusions, which describe the burning issues of the time. The meeting of the three coloured forces - white, yellow-blue and red - led to the tragic ending on the crossroads of the historical maze. Bulgakov masterly described everything he witnessed in prose and then brought it to the stage. The process was long and his creativity was marked by the censorship intrusion, which underlines the importance of the topic.

Discrete and limited dependent variables in econometrics
Bejda, Přemysl ; Prášková, Zuzana (referee) ; Cipra, Tomáš (advisor)
In the present work we study discrete and limited dependent variables. We begin with binary dependent variables. Then we show an example, where we use the data from psychological area. We work with econometric software EViews and show its possibilities, which are connected with our subject of study. We write procedures for "jackknife" method and simple random sample, compare logit, probit and gompit models and draw a graph of conditional probability of our models. Likewise we work with ordinal dependent variables. We use the same data as in the previous example. It means that we investigate possibilities of EViews and add some procedures for "jackkni ng," simple random sampling and for drawing pictures of conditional probability. Just from theoretical point of view we consider unordered dependent variables. In the next chapter we focus on limited dependent variables. We show theory of censored and truncated explained variables. As an application we show theory of survival analysis, which is used in our last example. Statistical computing is performed in R, because no suitable methods are implemented in EViews.

Working out of methodology for creation of building information model
Nováková, Věra ; Černý, Martin (referee) ; Hanzl, Vlastimil (advisor)
This thesis is focused on creation of building information model (BIM) for existing buildings. The main objective of this work is to develop the methodology (workflow) for the creation of BIM model using selected geodetic methods, specifically for the modeling based on the existing documentation of the building, the modeling from the handheld distance meter and the modeling from point cloud acquired by the indoor mapping system. The aim of these workflows is to explore the suitability of these methods, to check the limits of each method and to point out the potential issues. Revit (version 2013 and 2014) was used as an authoring environment for creation of the models. Workflow for modeling based on the documentation of the building shows how to insert drawings into Revit and how to create a model based on these drawings. The workflow was developed based on experience with creation of model of an office building. The workflow for handheld laser distance meter describes how to work with rangefinder equipped with Bluetooth, which allows user to create a model onsite. The third part of this thesis deals with creation of BIM from pointcloud acquired by indoor mobile mapping system. The workflow describes data collection and point clouds processing directly in Revit using the ScanToBIM extension. The results of this work are methodical instructions for the methods described above and the comparison of these methods. Workflows contain recommended procedures and highlight common issues and mistakes. This should enable the readers of this thesis to choose the right method and avoid common mistakes.
