Knowledge Extraction with BP-networks
Reitermanová, Zuzana ; Holan, Tomáš (referee) ; Mrázová, Iveta (advisor)
Multi-layered neural networks of the back-propagation type are well known for their universal approximation capability. Already the standard back-propagation training algorithm used for their adjustment provides often applicable results. However, e cient solutions to complex tasks currently dealt with require a quick convergence and a transparent network structure. This supports both an improved generalization capability of the formed networks and an easier interpretation of their function later on. Various techniques used to optimize the structure of the networks like learning with hints; pruning and sensitivity analysis are expected to impact a better generalization, too. One of the fast learning algorithms is the conjugate gradient method. In this thesis, we discuss, test and analyze the above-mentioned methods. Then, we derive a new technique combining together the advantages of them. The proposed algorithm is based on the rapid scaled conjugate gradient technique. This classical method is enhanced with the enforcement of a transparent internal knowledge representation and with pruning of redundant hidden and input neurons inspired by sensitivity analysis. The performance of the developed technique has been tested on arti cial data and on real-world data obtained from the World Bank. Experiments done...

Battle of Mühldorf and its reflection in (not only) knightly literature
Baloun, Antonín ; Bobková, Lenka (advisor) ; Žalud, Zdeněk (referee)
The main theme of this thesis is the battle of Mühldorf. In 1322, the forces of two newly elected Holy Roman emperors, Louis of Wittelsbach and Frederick of Habsburg, came to Upper Bavaria. They met to battle for legal succession of the Holy Roman Empire throne. One of the important actors within this conflict was the Czech king, John of Bohemia. Contemporaneous chronicles are compared and contrasted in the goal of reconstructing the course of history. This thesis is furthter enhanced by discussing the problem from the point of view studies of current German historians. By reading this thesis, one may obtain a mental portrait of the time and by doing so, will get acquainted with the kings of that ruled the lands, learn the reasonings behind the conflict and understand the consequence of this battle, an effect that resonated more than just on the Czech kingdom.

New media and internet marketing via an example of social networks
Vítková, Olga ; Čurda, Pavel (referee) ; Švelch, Jaroslav (advisor)
The diploma thesis, addressing the topic of New media and internet marketing via an example of social networks, deals with the possibilities of practical marketing that these new media offer. The work deals also with the characteristics of these new meadia and this kind of a wider social context. The whole work thus stands on three pillars - the new media and technologies, the new media and social activities and, last but not least, the internet marketing and the referring case study. The characteristics of new media mark several whole new possibilities and opportunities for the marketing activities. With the dawn of new media, marketing grows with the changes of its qualitaty, the society has to learn how to adapt to these conditions and to turn them to its own profit because marketing people are developing new tools and new methods for their successful marketing communication. Marketing has been offered some huge new horizons thanks to the internet. Along with the tools of the conventional commercial communication it keeps at disposal even the interpersonal communication. Personal user data-gathering helps with addressing the customers directly. One of such tools to help the companies with direct input of the customers' needs, desires and demands of an exact brand are the social networks. Such premise is...

Film propaganda and the Hitlerian Era in Germany
Bína, Ondřej ; Hauser, Michael (referee) ; Stracený, Josef (advisor)
For political manipulators became an ally of the film medium, allowing them to operate more effectively on mankind. The film is an ideal means of indirect communication. Thanks to the mass character of film distribution, which adds to the rapid technological development, it is possible using film to create images and illusory worlds. Use them to influence audience awareness of reality. The first half of the 20th century brought a case in Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, two typical examples of how film can be used for the subjugation of a communique to the general public. The first example was devoted to this work. Its purpose was to highlight the links between film means, propaganda and political history. Documented by the example of Third Reich cinema. At the same time provide high school teachers the information base to grab this issue and its subsequent use in teaching. Potential, which has a controlled structure poltickou cinematography is great, its weakness is also possible that the viewer will become bedlivějším "reader" film communication and learn to perceive the film entertainment in broader contexts. One way this situation is through convergence with the problems of film propaganda during the teaching humanities subjects such as civics, history and Czech language. In terms of further grasp of...

Acquisition of Czech by French learners: automatic analysis of errors in declension
Šmilauer, Ivan ; Hajičová, Eva (advisor) ; Hrdlička, Milan (referee) ; Cardey-Greenfield, Sylviane (referee)
Our work presents the realization of a platform of computer-assisted language learning CETLEF, featuring on-line fill-in-the-blank exercises with automatic feedback on errors. CETLEF, consisting of a relational data base and author and learner interfaces, rendered necessary the definition of a model for declension in Czech. This model contains a detailed classification of the paradigms and rules for the realization of vocalic and consonantal alternations. It enables the morphological annotation of required forms, the didactic presentation of the morphological system of Czech on the learning platform, as well as the automatic error diagnosis. Diagnosis is carried out by the comparison of an erroneous production with hypothetical forms generated from the stem of the required form. An appraisal of the diagnosis of the productions collected on CETLEF shows that the vast majority of errors can be interpreted with the aid of this technique.

Youth represents the most rapidly growing segment of travellers in the world tourism. Students enjoy travelling due to creating new social bonds with other people, discovering other parts of the world, learning something new about different cultures and having experience they haven't dreamt of. Each student is unique. However, there are factors that influence all of them. The first part of this project was to interpret main determinants and youth segment. The second part consists of questionnaire with answers received from different students. And last of all, third part represents the analysis of the interaction of the factors that influence young people in Czech Republic.
