Resumé The aim of the thesis "Comparative advertising - the development of its regulation in Czech law" is to analyze the development of comparative advertising in the Czech legislation, to make a comparison with the EU legislation and to examine development trends in comparative advertising. The thesis is divided into four key parts. First part discusses general issues of comparative advertising, ways of comparison in advertising, understanding of comparative advertising in the past and general regulation of advertising. Second part of the thesis analyses development trends in the Czech regulation of comparative advertising. This part analyzes two key phases - understanding of comparative advertising before and after accepting the amendment of the Commercial Code (1st January 2001) that introduced explicit regulation of comparative advertising. The thesis evaluates compatibility of conditions of permeability in the Commercial Code to the ones in the EU directive, assesses strictness of the conditions and examines the relationship of comparative advertising to other explicitly regulated types of the unfair competition in the Commercial Code. In relation to the requirement of the single regulation of the comparative advertising in the EU it is possible to evaluate the regulation in the Commercial Code -...

Financing higher education in Slovak republic and Australia
Morochovičová, Miriam ; Urbánek, Václav (advisor) ; Kramata, Jakub (referee)
Year by year there is a growing importance of tertiary education, as high quality university system and high percentage of population with tertiary education represent the basic prerequisite for the development of the country. This bachelor thesis compares two completely different systems of financing tertiary education in Australia and Slovak republic. Slovak education system is financed by public sector subsidies in comparison to Australian education system which is based on deferred payment of tuition fees. The special focus is on advantages and disadvantages of successful financing of tertiary education in Australia. The main goal is to provide suitable recommendations for implementation of advantageous features of higher education financing in Australia for Slovak republic. The key advantages are considered to be: reducing the burden on public budgets with higher focus on private sector, better education quality and reducing the deliberate prolongation of study stay. Implementation of some features from Australia in Slovakia could mean high administrative costs and it requires proper understanding of current economic situation in Slovakia. Helping tools for successful university reform consist of optimization of university tuition fees and decreased amount of field of studies, which require paying university tuition fees.

Spanish integration to the CEE
Müller, Tomáš ; Kovář, Martin (advisor) ; Soukup, Jaromír (referee)
My theses scope is description of the Spanish relationship to European Union from the first integration tendencies after the WW II till the preferential agreement ratification in 1970. I will try to analyze part of the Spanish economic history within the context of west-European integration. This period precedes the political transformation of autocratic Spain to modern democracy. These democratic cabinets were able to aspire seriosusly to fully-fledged European Union membership. In my opinion it is not possible to view political transformation as a start-up for democratically elected governments to setup new relationships with EU but it is necessary to understand it as an important condition which is part of a long-term process of Spanish convergence to west-European integration. In my theses I primarily concentrate on the economic development but I mean that it is important to mention the political situation as well.

Development of water law in Czech lands before 1914
Urban, Michael ; Kindl, Vladimír (advisor) ; Soukup, Ladislav (referee)
The purpose of this thesis was to capture the development of legal regulation of the Czech water law and of water-law relationships, and to point out that miller's law, fisheries law and navigation law are naturally related to the water law. Water transport and handling were not regulated in any manner in the most ancient times. The Czech water law was built on the heritage of the Roman legal culture. From the end of the 10th century, the first mentions of water-law relationships can be found, particularly in monarch's charters. The first important legal regulations related to water included the Mining Code (Ius Regale Montanorum) by king Wenceslas II of 1300-1305 and the Code Maiestas Carolina by king Charles IV, which was not implemented in practice, though. The so called lawbooks are another significant resource for understanding legal regulations related to water. Elements of a complex legal regulation with statewide legal force started to be applied from the end of the 15th and in the course of the 16th century - a number of municipal establishments and the code of municipal law created by Pavel Kristián of Koldín. A considerable boom of legal regulations with respect to all aspects of water-law relationships was seen during the reign of Maria Theresia and Joseph II (the navigation patent,...

The presented rigorous thesis aims to analyse the structural transformation of press and the subsystem of the regional as well as local press in terms of mutual connections by means of explanatory and methodological research. The subsystem characteristics are based on the content, formal and geographical concepts; the connections with the system level are clarified. The developmental trends at the micro and macro level enable to monitor the changes of the media landscape after 1989. The transformation process is divided into phases and diversity encountered in transition countries is explained. Macro-level and micro-level factors of structural transformation are analysed in detail. The concept of the system microclimate enabled to monitor the sub-media as well as media space in the context of intermediary system. This causal link is an integral part of the transformation process, which is why the finding of a common ground between the social environment and subsystem of the regional and local press promotes the understanding of the observed characteristics and also creates its own microclimate for the new resulting concepts. The most significant social impacts of structural transformations are shown in the transfer semantics. The methodological part enabled to anchor the research for subsequent...

When do stable democracies emerge? Mending the view of economics and political science
Kovář, Kamil ; Müller, Karel (advisor) ; Dvořáková, Vladimíra (referee)
This thesis deals with the economic theories of democracy and democratization and their synthesis with political science theories. First discussed is the 'static' model of Acemoglu and Robinson (2006), which focuses on economically motivated political conflict between elites and masses, and in which stable democracy emerges in countries with medium levels of economic inequality. The second discussed 'dynamic' approach comes from the North, Wallis and Weingast (2009), who postulate the existence of two social orders that inextricably combine economic and political elements . In the third chapter I argue that the economic models of democratization are not able to capture the dramatic spread of democracy around the world in the last three decades. For this purpose, they would have to include normative preference for dermokracy and political science concept of legitimacy. It is concluded that the synthesis of economic and political science models is essential for proper understanding of emergence of stable democracies.
