The swimming ability of children of basic school from 1. to 4. class (region Usti n/L.)
Meduna, Radek ; Jurák, Daniel (advisor) ; Felgrová, Ivana (referee)
Abstraction: Title: The swimming skills of children from the first to fourth grade of elementary schools (Ústí region) Aims: The aim of this thesis is to compare the level reached in swimming by children from the first to fourth grade at elementary schools after finishing the swimming course at swimming schools in ústí region in the school year 2006/2007. This was done by record sheets and structured interviews with open questions. Method: The method of data analysis of record sheets from the swimming schools of Ústí region was used for the research. Structured interviews with open questions with the directors of the swimming schools were used, too. They made it easier to look into the centre and systems of the schools (entrance + final tests, instructors, motivation etc.). Results: The results of the research show the IeveI of children after having attended ten ninety-minute-lectures in swimming schools. The swimming skills from the point of view of swum distance developed. From 9184 children, 4777 could swim 11m and more at the beginning of the course. By final testing it was already 7985, which is a 34.9% increase from the total number of children. 4407 children did not manage to swim 11m by the entrance testing. From this number, 3208 swam more than 11m by the final testing which means that 72.8% of...

Albert Camus. The artist's searching for autonomous living
Nuckollsová, Tereza ; Čapek, Jakub (referee) ; Petříček, Miroslav (advisor)
My graduation theses deals with the structure of Albert Camus' thought. It is important to emphasize the progresion in his thought. It begins as a criticism of the absolute meaning and as an acceptance of the truth of absurd. There lies the resource of the new human freedom. Yet this Camus' first position is to be seen just as the starting point for his long thinker's journey. It continues subsequently. Man learns that other people due to the fact of their lives have the same ability of freedom as he has. The life begins to play the role of the most important worth and it helps Camus to escape from the trap of nihilism. On the basis of human felowship Camus tries to restore the morality. He reveals the meaning of responsibility and guilt. However, there is one problem rest. Is it possible to cohere the individual freedom and the justice for everyone? Camus' responds come at the end of his life. They refer to the certain limits and certain measure that are essential for human beings. But these thoughts can not be considered as the final Camus' standpoint. In his inheritance there are some aphorisms describing the importance of passing the human limits over.

Architectural photography as the means of promotion of a modern architecture in Czechoslovakia 1918-1948
Holá, Mariana ; Švácha, Rostislav (referee) ; Lahoda, Vojtěch (advisor)
Media had a decisive influence on the live of 20th century society. This impact reached its first peak in the time between the World War I and /I when mass media evolved, thanks to the technology and consumption society development. Their significant part was also photography. At that time it was perceived as a literal copy of reality but some people rather used its ability to alter or change the reality. One of the disciplines which used this relatively new medium for its promotion and popularization was a modern architecture. This thesis deals with forms of architectural photography in Czechoslovakia from 1918 to 1948, factors determining these forms but foremost by ways the architectural photography helped promoting modern architecture From its beginnings the history of photography is inseparably connected with capturing architecture. At times when long exposures were necessary architecture was a convenient motionless subject. In the 19th century the architectural photography primarily developed with industrial development which was accompanied by construction of new industrial buildings. Even then these pictures served as the means of progress promotion and their iconography referred to it (structures, factory smokestack, modern means of transport) as well. The inter-war avant-garde grew up from the...

Russian position in the world politics at the beginning of the 21st century - The Break up of bipolarity, the comming of a new world (dis)order and Russian influence in the post-soviet area
Hodač, Jan ; Romancov, Michael (advisor) ; Žídková, Markéta (referee)
At the end of 1990s, the Russian state eroded, losing its power and the ability to perform elementary functions of government. The process of the "wild privatisation" of state-owned property during 1990s favored certain oligarchic groups, the state itself lost its possibility to create any meaningful long-term strategy. With hindsight it's hardly possible to consider President Jeltsin's era a big success. After Vladimir Putin became the President of the Russian Federation, the situation in the country has changed fundamentally. Russian economy is getting stronger, peoples" pride of being Russians is growing and Russia is ready again to be one of the decisive participants in the world politics at the beginning of the 21st century. Author is deeply convinced that it wouldn't be objective to consider the present situation in international relations to be "unipolar" despite of some states1efforts to do so. Russia is ready to promote its idea of multipolarism - the role of the United Nations is viewed as a keystone of present and future world politics. To promote such ideas, Russian Federation had to strengthen its positions in "near abroad" - from the point of view of the Russian foreign policy strategy, the consolidation of Russia's influential positions in the post-soviet space was a must in the connection of...

Applications of error-correcting codes in steganography
Cinkais, Roman ; Lisoněk, Petr (referee) ; Drápal, Aleš (advisor)
Modern steganography is a relatively new discipline with many applications in information security. Contrary to the cryptography which is trying to make a message unreadable to third party using cryptographic algorithms, the aim of steganography is to hide a communication between parties. Applications of error-correcting codes and covering functions markedly increases abilities and security of steganographic algorithms. This thesis is attended to steganography using error-correcting codes which has the best results nowadays regarding embedding efficiency. New constructions will help us to work with non-linear codes and providing new steganographic algorithms. We will see that these algorithms have a better ability to hide communication, resp. a message in a digital medium. Further improvements can be made using applications of general q-ary codes. Many new questions are coming out with that which need to be answered. Several comparisons are showing that the area of steganography is in a beginning and we will be participants of such a progress as cryptography experienced in the last two decades.

Co-evolutionary aspects of genetic diversity: milk production and lactase persistence
Priehodová, Edita ; Černý, Viktor (advisor) ; Brůžek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Macholán, Miloš (referee)
Lactase persistence (LP) is genetically determined ability to digest lactose (milk sugar) in adulthood. Lactose is digested by the intestinal enzyme - lactase. In mammals, production of lactase declines after the weaning period. In case of the LP, the lactase is produced during whole life and thus it is possible to drink larger amounts of fresh milk without digestive problems. However, LP is documented only in some human populations. Its worldwide distribution is unequal, the highest rates are found in northern Europe and in pastoralists living in arid regions of Africa and Arabia. The origin of this trait is related to the emergence of agriculture 10,000 years ago, and the beginnings of milk production. In some populations, there is a strong signal of positive selection for the LP caused by various factors depending on various living conditions. The LP is associated with single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) located approximately 14 kb upstream from lactase gene. Nowadays we know five different SNPs which cause the LP and they have probably different origin and have expanded independently. One of the possible centres of the LP origin is the Arabian Peninsula, where the LP variant -13,915*G probably first appeared and spread. In this thesis, occurrences of different LP mutations were investigated...

Development of land property on the territory of Czech Republik, role and interference of the state
Kubeš, Karel ; Drobník, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Franková, Martina (referee)
The thesis maps and analyzes the development of landed property on the territory of the contemporary Czech Republic since 1918 until the beginning of the 21st century. A special attention is devoted to the role and interference of the state into the development of this field. An essential part of the text comprises an introduction to the proprietary rights. The thesis presents a structural insight into the landed property system and its significance not just for the actual legal development on the territory of the contemporary Czech Republic but also for the ability to meet the basic existential needs of people living on this territory during particular, more or less historically important time periods. In more detail, it deals with the development of landed property after 1918, 1948 and 1989. It examines the issues of land reforms, socialization period and agrarian collectivization as well as the more recent ones. These include the process of restitution and privatization of landed property. Besides analyzing the contemporary legislation de lege lata, the author also addresses the proposals de lege ferenda. Simultaneously, the author devotes attention to the state land ownership; therefore, in the broader context, the question of the contemporary role of the state as the land owner is analyzed,...
