Recent trends in web-application development
AJAX, Ruby, Python, ich použití, kladoch a záporoch. V prípadovej štúdii nasadenia LAMP vo firme vyvíjajúcej webové aplikácie popíšem dôvody nasadenia LAMP, uvediem porovnanie s konkurenčným riešením, sumarizujem skúsenosti s prevádzkou LAMP a zhodnotím výhľad používania tejto platformy v budúcnosti.

The Folk Song as a Source of Inspiration in Activities in Music Lessons in Primary Schools
Brabníková, Klára ; Herden, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Váňová, Hana (referee)
Teachers often use folk songs as a means to teach children singing in tune and other musical skills or music theory. However, a deeper knowledge of the song itself happens to be missing. Yet, learning more about the music, looking deeper into its core can open new possibilities of its use in the classroom. The aim of this work is to demonstrate the path that a teacher should go through when, trying to gather knowledge about a folk song. Folk music is no more as popular as it used to be. It is therefore necessary for the teacher to spend more energy on the preparation to make it more attractive for the students. Folk song has the important feature of flexibility. The end of the 20lh century brought a new style of music combining folk songs with pop music. Its authors find inspiration in folklore, making it the basis of their own creative work. Such music thus reveals another possibility to bring the folk song closer to the today's audience and especially the young generation. Nevertheless, for the practical part I have chosen a different strategy: through encountering the folk music (songs of the southern Bohemia in this case) children learn about some features of modern pop music (from jazz through mid stream pop song to pop music. Generating meaning of popular texts demonstrated on the czech television serial Místo nahoře
Fričová, Michaela ; Reifová, Irena (advisor) ; Bednařík, Petr (referee)
The starting point of this piece of work is proposition that television and its texts are an agent of the dominant ideology in society. Through the princip of hegemony the rulling class imposes its meanings and values on the subordinated classes. Hegemony is based on allowing resistent and alternative meanings which are nevertheless articulated in terms of the dominant ideology and are subsequently incorporated into the existing system. This thesis then follows John Fiske's understanding of popular culture and activated texts . These are texts which do not imp lose one limited meani ng on its readers, but which allow its readers by means of various strategies to interpret the text with regards to their social position. The second part of this work includes semiological analysis of a particular product of popular culture - the television serial Misto nahore. The emphasis is put on the process of encoding - how the dominant meanings and values are encoded and implied in the text. Besides, the attention is directed towards the 'opening' strategies of the text. This section also includes an analysis of the secondary texts (newspaper and magazine articles ) and terciary texts (viewers' reacti ons and opinions on the web). I examine whether the sec ondary texts promote dom inant or resistant reading strategies,...

RNDr. Vasilis Teodoridis, Ph.D. Katedra biologie a environmentálních studií Pedf UK Doktorský studijní program pedagogika Externí konzultantka Prof. dr. Ute Stoltenberg Institut für integrative Studien, Leuphana Universität Lüneburg Praha 2012 The thesis introduces environmentally oriented concepts in early education curriculum with one leading point of view: key competences for sustainable action. Key competences represent new, open ended form of educational goals. Early education curriculum defined broadly as all educational content (planned, realized and hidden) presents a field of study of this thesis. In this field, a new concept, education for sustainable development, should be implemented worldwide. The question is, how far and how successfully can this concept be introduced in the early education curriculum on the level of educational goals. There are many general strategies and models of curriculum revision. In order to structure the empirical study, a hierarchical model of macro-, meso- and micro level of curriculum was established. This model allows examination of two ways of education for sustainable development implementation,...

Preparedness of primary school teachers for environmental education
ŠIMEK, Matouš
This bachelor thesis examines the preparedness of primary school teachers in the South Bohemia for environmental education. Effective Strategies of Forming Legal Consciousness of Upper-Secondary School Students
Urban, Michal ; Gerloch, Aleš (advisor) ; Maršálek, Pavel (referee) ; Večeřa, Miloš (referee)
The presented PhD. thesis deals with effective strategies of forming legal consciousness of upper-secondary school students, and with methods that can be used for developing it. So far, legal scholars have paid only insufficient attention to this topic, even though many law experts have repeatedly pointed out its importance. Moreover, they stress the fact that a more detailed understanding of legal consciousness of citizens and of ways of influencing it can help us better understand how law works within the society. The thesis opens with the theoretical part, which defines the concept of legal consciousness, describes its level captured by the available empirical research and identifies effective strategies, which possess the potential to cultivate legal consciousness of the youth. In the following practical part, the author seeks to verify effectiveness of these strategies by means of student questionnaires, interviews with teachers and observations of their lessons. The theoretical part firstly introduces legal consciousness as the basic concept of the whole thesis. The first chapter presents the understanding of legal consciousness as one of the key terms of every law because it connects the world of law in books with the world of law actually experienced by people on day to day basis. Legal...

Institutional aspects of the democratic deficit: The role of national parliaments in EU matters
Knutelská, Viera ; Plechanovová, Běla (advisor) ; Karlas, Jan (referee) ; Braun, Mats Rickard (referee)
This dissertation deals with institutional aspects of the democratic deficit of the European Union, particularly the powers of national parliaments and their capabilities to influence decision-making at the European level. The national parliaments' role in European integration became an interesting research area thanks to their greater involvement in the EU affairs in the last twenty years. However, because of the many developments of the European integration in the last twenty years (including both deepening and broadening of integration), many questions remain open. These include involvement of national parliaments both on European level and on national level; for obvious reasons, the latter has been studied less regarding the parliaments of the Member States that joined the Union in 2004 and 2007. While this dissertation deals with some aspects of the work of national parliaments of all Member States, more detailed studies are devoted to the cases of the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia. This dissertation poses questions in the three main areas of research that are all devoted to some practical aspects of national parliaments' involvement in European affairs. First, it examines the involvement of national parliaments at the European level and whether national parliaments do have the...
