William Fosythe´s contemporary classical dance
Bočková, Šárka ; Janeček, Václav (advisor) ; Křenková, Mahulena (referee)
This bachelor´s thesis renders the biography of William Forsythe and his initiators. Further, it deals with the principls which initiated the creation of Forsythe´s dance style and the ways how he develops them. It explores the aesthetic influence of by him generated shapes of movement, and it also analyse the essence of conveying this unconventional way of movcement expression. In the final part my thesis researches the funcionality of the individual parts of body. This funcionality contributes to creating Forsythe´s dance style and encourages dance pedagogues to incorporate the specific features of this dance style into the exercises of classical dance lessons.

Coaching and typology of personality
Riethof, Norbert ; Riegel, Karel (advisor) ; Rymeš, Milan (referee)
This work describes theoretical background of coaching and it compares coaching with other methods in human resources development areas. The main context is the usage of coaching in corporate organizations. This work also combines coaching methodology with personality type approaches, in this case through the lenses of MB TI. Description of a developmental project implementation for an IT organization in the Czech Republic provides a framework in which coaching is shown as a main component of such a developmental project. It also explores the relationship between theoretically derived developmental needs of individuals and those of empirical origin. In a closing section it provides a view on status of coaching both nowadays and in the future. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Interrelationship dynamics of certain subjects of healthcare system: pharmaceutical industry, physicians and patients

1 Abstract: The diploma thesis applies sociological perspective on interrelationships of pharmaceutical industry, physicians and patients. Its main focus is on the role of pharmaceutical industry in context of relationships with the two other actors. The first part of the work summarizes available Czech and mainly foreign social science literature referring to the broad network of relations. The transformation of medical profession in current society and the development of international pharmaceutical industry in the Czech Republic are also discussed. The empirical part of the thesis reports the findings of a qualitative interview study undertaken with ambulatory physicians concerning their relationships with pharmaceutical companies. The goal of the research was to explore how and why Czech physicians interact with the pharmaceutical companies, gain insight into their ethical evaluation and assessment of consequences and detect the strategies and rationalizations they use to cope with these relationships. Keywords: pharmaceutical industry, physician, patient, conflict of interest, sociology of medicine

Theoretical predictions of the impact of a noisy channel on interpreters' performance in simultaneous interpretation and their empirical verification
Volenová, Eva ; Čeňková, Ivana (advisor) ; Ďoubalová, Jana (referee)
This thesis explores the issue of noise in the simultaneous interpreting process, using the concept of noise as defined in information theory and the model of communication developed by Claude Shannon. The theoretical section of this thesis first offers a brief explanation of the basic concepts involved in information theory, followed by a description of Shannon's model. Selected models of interpreting are then introduced based on this model of communication. A list of potential types of noise is then presented based on the literature examined that may have an impact on the interpreter during simultaneous interpreting. The empirical section of this thesis consists of a questionnaire and an experiment. The questionnaire determines to what extent interpreters find the potential types of noise from the list created in the theoretical section disruptive in their work. The list of types of noise is also expanded based on respondents' answers. The questionnaire also determines what strategies respondents employ to overcome adverse factors. The new types of noise and strategies employed are described in this thesis using open-ended answers from the respondents. The experiment tests the impact of a burst-noise channel on simultaneous interpreting. A total of 13 respondents took part in the experiment,...

Effect of cognitive styles on individual's decision-making
Poláková, Lucia ; Höschlová, Eva (advisor) ; Stehlík, Luděk (referee)
The aim of the thesis was to study how cognitive styles influence decision-making. From structural point of view, the thesis is divided into two parts. In the introductory theoretical part we point at decision-making, its definition and theory, and then we deal with structure and factors which influence decision-making, as well as rules for decision-making and decision errors. In theoretical part we concentrate on cognitive styles. We define cognitive styles and present their possible classifications to a reader, at the same time we focus on few of them in detail. Thereafter we concentrate on relation between cognitive styles and decision-making. In conclusion of theoretical part we focus on adolescence, we describe specific of cognitive and emotional development, as well as adolescents' decision-making. The aim of empirical part was to find out whether decision errors occur in decision-making between older adolescents and to what extent, and how intervening variable influences them - cognitive style reflexivity-impulsivity, gender, and attended secondary school. Research consisted of 184 secondary school graduates from three secondary schools in Senica. Test TE- NA-TO was used for exploration of cognitive styles. At the same time we studied framing effect and anchoring and adjustment effect...

Simultaneous interpreting using a paper copy of the speech with a focus on "paper copy of the speech" and "subjectivity" as the two major variables
Jánský, Dušan ; Rejšková, Jana (referee) ; Abdallaova, Naděžda (advisor)
This theoretical-empirical work is focused on the dependence between the variables "paper copy of the speech" and "subjectivity" in simultaneous interpreting. In the theoretical part of this thesis, the hitherto research in this field has been covered and the explored questions ha ve been categorized within the paradigm of translation studies. Within the framework of the translational model by Heidemarie Salevsky, an attempt was made to identify and confine the major variables that occur in simultaneous interpreting with a paper copy ofthe speech. Then, based on past research on this subject, a detailed description was made ofthe factors paper and subjectivity. In addition, a categorization ofthe types of subjectivity was made for the analysis of the individua! papers. In the empirical part of this work, based on the available knowledge of the main factors and on the analysis of all speeches, a hypothesis was formulated on the dependence between the factors paper and subjectivity for the individua! speeches and for all speeches jointly. Furthermore, an auxiliary hypothesis was formulated on the dependence between paper, subjectivity and the studenťs class level (proficiency). After conducting the experiment and evaluating the individua! interpreting performances based on the evaluation method described in...

Variability of the Brewer-Dobson Circulation
Kupčihová, Zuzana ; Pišoft, Petr (advisor) ; Kozubek, Michal (referee)
The middle atmosphere transport is mostly controlled by a large-scale meridional circulation, namely the Brewer-Dobson circulation. In this thesis, climatology and variability of the Brewer-Dobson circulation and the middle atmosphere has been analysed using the Canadian Middle Atmosphere Model (CMAM30-Ext). A number of key variables are used including the age of air, residual velocities, residual stream function, temperature and zonal wind. The analysis of the climatology of the age of air shows, in particular, that young air gets generated near the tropical tropopause, which then travels poleward. The residual stream function shows that the Brewer-Dobson circulation dominates the winter hemispheres around the solstices and becomes nearly symmetrical, with respect to the equator, around the equinoxes. The empirical orthogonal function analysis is applied to explore the modes of variability in the middle atmosphere. The analysis identifies, in particular, the semi-annual oscillation, the quasi-biennial oscillation with moderate explained variance compared to the variance explained by the annual cycle. In addition, the analysis also reveals the emergence of the solar cycle. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Time-Resolved Terahertz Spectroscopy Applied to the Investigation of Magnetic Materials and Photonic Structures
Němec, Hynek ; Kužel, Petr (advisor) ; Čtyroký, Jiří (referee) ; Crozat, Paul (referee)
Two distinct branches of optics are combined in this work: Time-domain terahertz spectroscopy, and photonic structures. The work at rst provides a survey of tools utilized for exploration of the terahertz region, and it enriches them by a method for simultaneous determination of dielectric and magnetic response of materials and metamaterials. Photonic structures operating in the terahertz range form the subject of the rest of this thesis. A periodically modulated dielectric waveguide is studied theoretically using a modal method: The band structure of guided and leaky modes is calculated and resonant modes are described. One-dimensional photonic crystals with a defect are then investigated in detail. Formation of defect modes is analyzed theoretically in a photonic crystal with a twinning defect. The analysis makes it possible to formulate requirements on a design of a structure with defect modes tunable by external parameters. Following these guidelines, we have successfully designed, fabricated and characterized photonic crystals with thermally tunable defect modes with relative tunability reaching 60 %.
