Right to information on the environment
Polcarová, Kristýna ; Žákovská, Karolina (advisor) ; Sobotka, Michal (referee)
The international obligations of the Czech Republic in relation to the right to information on the environment, following from its membership in the European Union and from the ratification of the Aarhus Convention, were fulfilled formally especially by adopting the Act on the Right of Access to Information on the Environment (InfŽPZ) and the Act on Free Access to Information (InfZ). As follows from the facts mentioned in the chapters above, however, the coexistence of both legal regulations in practice is not always easy, for the liable subjects may have difficulties especially in distinguishing, which of the two is to be used to proceed in a particular case. Further, difficulties may also occur in practice where one part of a request is to be treated under InfŽPZ and the other under InfZ. Here, the liable subject will have to deal with different legal process regulations, concerning especially the terms of attendance to the request and to the filed appeal. It is obvious that such a situation is complicated unnecessarily both for the liable subject and for the claimant, again only increasing the demands for the knowledge of law of the involved parties. With respect to the purpose of this legislation, however, it should be noted that the legislator should have de lege ferenda chosen such a legal...

Pleva, Jiří ; Jelínek, Jiří (advisor) ; Kalvodová, Věra (referee) ; Herczeg, Jiří (referee)
Unconditional sentence of imprisonment from perspective of theory and practice Dissertation JUDr. Jiří Pleva Abstract Author tried to express his opinions to contemporary theory and practice concerning the unconditional sentence of imprisonment and provide some impulses to an appropriate change in his thesis. The basic motto of the introduced discourse was the statement that the prime sign of the imposed sentence is the loss (evil) caused to the criminal. Author wanted to prove the ineffectiveness of the imposed sentences in the cases when the subsequent execution of the punishments will not be for the criminal appreciable enough, whereas the factual appreciability of the punishment is only ad hoc to be stated regarding to the situation of the particular offender. Generally extended statement was disproved, that the unconditional sentence of imprisonment was always the strictest form of punishment, by the chosen cases from the court room and also from the prison practice. In thesis author tried to emphasize the importance of all basic purposes of the punishment, until now modified in § 23 of the Criminal code (1961) which cannot be left out at considerations either about imposing sentence or after the coming into force of the new Criminal code (2009). In spirit of the mixed theory of punishment he expressed...

Domestic violence in society
Trnková, Martina ; Munková, Gabriela (advisor) ; Koldinská, Kristina (referee)
English abstract Domestic violence in society This thesis is divided into two parts to reflect the definition of domestic violence as a very broad social (gender) and legal term. The opening chapter provides an introduction to the theory of domestic violence along with en explanation of its elementary features and concepts. The chapter describes domestic violence as a societal problem which - in the light of statistically proven (and surprisingly frequent) occurrence and presumptive high latency - cannot be put aside as a marginal pathological phenomenon. Such (erroneous) conclusion, however, is tempting since there are many myths around intimate violence, as is a general misapprehension that both victims of domestic violence as well as persons abusing their close relatives can be unmistakably identified. The author of this work aspires to refute such conclusions by pointing to criminological as well as victimological specifics of a person that is the victim or perpetrator of domestic violence. The second chapter explores the factors of feminization of domestic violence, including the aspects of gender, gender socialization and its dynamics, discrimination and violence against women. Worldwide, domestic violence is still considered a subcategory of violence against women, despite the facts that anyone can...

Fialová, Martina ; Bělohlávková, Petra (advisor) ; Jenčková, Eva (referee)
The object of the graduation thesis was to find out what is the role of club music in todays youth's life, what musical and non-musical factors affect their reception of music, what music styles are preferred by young people and why. The dissertation deals with psychological aspects. Then it mentions the influence of media and also outlines the development of four most influencing genres in pop music (rock, punk, ska, hip hop). The next goal was to determine what is the importance of teenagers' active musicianship (playing in a band), regarding musical appreciation and building up their musicalness. The questionnaires and interviews with students emerge that the listeners who visit the concerts in clubs belong to the group of real music fans who don't perceive music only as a background. For them music embodies the way of self expression and it can also refers to their belonging to a peer group - a group of people with identical views of life, similar musical preferences but with alike appearance attributes too.

Nontraditional materials in tree dimensional Art make, forcefully for textille material and Toy
Trojanová, Kateřina ; Havlásek Tatarová, Lucie (referee) ; Roeselová, Věra (advisor)
My dissertation is about material transformation in space creation at the turn of 19th century, where the beginning of modern statuary is dated. Follows up connecting of unconventional and new materials to modern art production. It's engaged in textile and fabric very closely, from its emancipating from the utility value - concretely the tapestry production in Czechoslovakia, it's transformation to Soft Art of the 60th. The main theme of my practical work is fabric and is realized in textile space object - children toy. It seems paradox that I choose for the practical part of my dissertation called unconventional work with fabric - the most traditional object. But my intention was to create a fabric toy on the border of utility value and art object. Because of that my last chapter in dissertation work is dedicated to theoretic principles of children evolution and childrens' play. Among others I put the question "what's the toy" and I tried to find the answer through the recapitulation of the exhibition "Salon hraček 2007" (Toy exhibition 2007).

Affix extraction: a case study on Hungarian Romani
Elšík, Viktor ; Starý, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Zima, Petr (referee) ; Halwachs, Dieter W (referee)
The PhD thesis Affix Extraction: A Case Study on Hungarian Romani explores the principles and complexities of the contact-induced mechanism of affix extraction, i.e. of affix borrowing through the mediation of lexical borrowing. The thesis is a case study on affix extraction in Selice Romani, a variety of Romani (Indo-Aryan) that is strongly influenced by Hungarian (Finno-Ugric). After a brief delimitation of the phenomenon of affix extraction and an outline of the contact situation, the thesis describes in some detail several individual instances of extracted Hungarian-origin affixes in Selice Romani. It is claimed that several levels of bilingual morphology and two tiers of potentially constraining factors must be distinguished in order to describe the phenomenon of affix extraction in an adequate manner. The concept of 'gap filling' is tested as a potential predictor of affix extraction. It turns out that the contact situation of Selice Romani vis--vis Hungarian instantiates a stage of borrowing that is characterized by categorially redundant lexical borrowing of morphologically complex forms and affix extraction.

Street art - subculture of post-graffiti
Kern, David ; Czumalo, Vladimír (referee) ; Matějů, Martin (advisor)
The purpose of this paper is to introduce a contemporary art movement often referred to as street art, post-graffiti or urban art. One of the components of this thesis, besides differentiation from the graffiti movement and an introduction of the most important artists and techniques, is an attempt to relate subcultural theories and Pierre Bourdieu's theory of social field to the movement. The primary sources used in this paper are Tristan Manco's Street Logos and Stencil Graffiti, Julia Reinecke's Street-Art, Christian Hundertmark's The Art of the Rebellion, The Subcultures Reader edited by Sarah Thornton and Ken Gelder, articles published in various magazines and newspapers and also interviews with the artists and their discussions, which have been published on the internet. The author of this paper was also successful in contacting two of the artists via email. Because of the nature of the subject, the methods applied in this paper are mostly a description and understanding of the source materials, profiles of the main artists and their techniques. In the theoretical part, the paper attempts to apply relevant sociological theories to describe the dynamics of the processes in the given subculture. First, the paper defines the term street art followed by a brief introduction of the graffiti movement to...
