Evaluation of precipitation forecast from the point of view of hydrological forecasting in small catchments
Pecha, Martin ; Čekal, Radek (referee) ; Daňhelka, Jan (advisor)
In this work we have evaluated NWP ALADIN quantitative precipitation forecast (QPF) for selected headwater areas of the Czech part of the Elbe river basin. Work describes geographical characteristics of 9 small study basins, and gives an overview of important synoptic situations and theory of NWP ALADIN. Different applied statistical methods (f.e. double mass curve, CDF, frequency diagram, discrimination and reliability) are introduced. Results have proved over-forecasting of days with precipitations especially those of light precipitation up to 1 mm and partly also up to 5 mm. On the other hand basins that are not exposed to prevailing western flows show under-forecasting of precipitation higher than 8 mm. Evaluation also proved the significant change in forecasting performance due to change in model resolution in 2005. The change was more significant in basins exposed to west and in basins in middle altitudes and spatially limited highlands. Simple quantile transformation resulted in improvement of forecast of total long term volume of precipitation in most of the study basins. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Marcela Houdková Predisposing factors of allergies XIII. Thesis Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Kralové. Field of study : Pharmaceutical Background Thesis objective was to evaluate the impact of possible risk factors for the development of allergic disease. Methods Comparison of data collected from Questionnaires from years 2002 and 2005, involving patiens and healthy children born in years 1989 -1990 and 1992-1993. Results We found out statistically significant outcomes by the following risk factors: abdominal delivery; child's birth weight more than 5,5 kg; a child's first immediately after birth, after child's treatment, during the first six hours and after one day; the meat consumption 4 - 6 times per week and sometimes in two years of age, 1 - 3 times a week for the transfer of children from kindergarten to school, and the meat consumption 4 - 6 times a week and 1 - 3 times a week for the last two years. Also, we have approved statistically significant value for the period of exclusive breast- feeding and breast-feeding period with the trimming. Conclusion Abdominal delivery proved a significant risk factor for the emergence of allergie. The potential impact may be increasing the frequency meat consumption. Protective influence on the development of allergies we...

Charles University in Prague Faculty of Science Department of Social Geography and Regional Development Jakub Novák MOBILE PHONE LOCATION DATA: POSSIBILITIES OF USE IN GEOGRAPHICAL RESEARCH Synopsis of PhD Thesis Prague 2010 Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Zdeněk Čermák Jakub Novák Synopsis of PhD Thesis 1 Jakub Novák Synopsis of PhD Thesis 2 INTRODUCTION Spatial mobility of world population has been unbelievably changing during the last decades. People from poor countries are moving thousands of kilometers to developed countries with the vision of material prosperity. Airplanes transport thousands of people in hours to places, where people had travelled much longer recently. Similarly, also an ordinary weekday is for the majority of population connected with relatively long moves between different places of daily activities. Traveling between home, work, kindergartens and schools, shops and leisure activities takes the significant part of our daytime. To capture the measureless amount of particular human creatures in their day-to-day moves through time and space seems to be almost impossible. In fact, it is not so unrealistic. Currently, we are surrounded by a number of electronic devices, which dispose with information about its location or record moving objects in their vicinity. Mobile phone is one of such...

Hladíková, Dana ; Beneš, Pavel (advisor) ; Dvořáček, Jiří (referee) ; Bílek, Martin (referee)
Present days mean rapid development of technologies and their use in various spheres of science, research, production etc. This paper shows possibilities of using video technology in teaching during the pedagogical training of future chemistry teachers, with appropriate feedback. Terms reflection and self-reflection of teacher's skills, diagnostics and autodiagnostics of pedagogical activities, monitoring of pedagogical skills etc. represent in fact processes connected with application of feedback principles during the pedagogical training. In practice-oriented parts of teaching preparation, these processes are considered to be substantial to increase the effectiveness. Students' opinions shall also have a significant place in post-inspection procedures. Key words: video technology, feedback processes, reflection, self-reflection, diagnostics, autodiagnostics, monitoring of professional skills, inspection of classes, work practice. 6

The history, reconstruction and use of culture monument (The case study of the auditorium Gymnázium Benešov)
Pokorný, Matyáš ; Heřmanová, Eva (advisor) ; Tyslová, Irena (referee)
Gymnasium Benešov is a very significant educational institucion in the city. Its history is closely linked to the order of piarists, who came into the city in the early of the 18th century. They established a colliage here and started a school teaching. The existence of the order then played a very important part in cultural development of the city and its inhabitants. In 1907 a new neo-renaissance building was constucted for this institucion, because the number of students was ever growing. One part of the new building was a baroque chapel with seccesion wall paintings. During the last century these paintings met a very complicated but remarkable history. The central themes of these paintings were strongly religiously oriented and were therefore in conflict with political power, which came after the Communist revolution in February 1948. So it happened that they were painted over and for several decades disappeared from the world. They disappeared, but were not lost nor completely forgotten, under a layer of white paint they only rested, waiting patiently for the day of their re-discovering. It eventually took place in the reconstruction of the chapel, which was carried out in the school year 2006/2007 on the occasion of the building's centennial celebrations. Let us now together in the footsteps of the reconstruction, let us examine what preceded it, what diffficulties it met and what results it finally brought.

Change in market value through acquisitions, empirical investigation on capital markets of Germany, France and Great Britain
Mitkov, Michal ; Brabenec, Tomáš (advisor) ; Hamplová, Barbora (referee)
This paper presents an investigation into the relationship between the announcement of acquisitions, the existence of positive abnormal return for shares of these firms and market efficiency in Germany, France and Great Britain. The sample of transactions ranged from January 2010 to December 2015. This thesis has used the event study methodology where the Cumulative Average Abnormal Returns (CAAR) of the target and bidder firm's stock prices in different event windows have been analysed. Across all the markets, target firm's stock price yields positive CAAR that is significantly different from zero on the day of the announcement. Unlike the target firms, bidder firms do not show statistically significant CAAR for all analysed markets. The second goal was to analyse market efficiency using CAAR data from the event study. It was concluded that the analysed markets behave in a semi-strong form of market efficiency with potential cases of insider trading identified.

Evaluation of different procedures used for insemination of cows of Holstein cattle
JINDRÁKOVÁ, Monika
The high-production dairy cows have problems with fertility, because there is negative correlation between fertility and milk production. Very often the problem with fertility is connected with cumulative number of quiet, indistinctive ruts. Such a problem causes prolongation of service period, increases consumption of insemination doses and rises the number of veterinary acts. Therefore new possibilities are searched to ensure satisfying fertility of cows. The objective of this work was to evaluate different procedures for insemination of cows of Holstein cattle. The research proceeded at agricultural company Kosova Hora, which has two stables with dairy cows. The controlled reproduction by means of hormones is used at cow-shed in Janov, whereas the natural reproduction when a cattleman looks for rutting cows is used at cow-shed in Kamenice. The way of stockbreeding, stabling and feeding was very similar in both cow-sheds. There were 203 dairy cows of Holstein cattle (H100%) or crossbreed dairy cows of Czech spotted cattle (H75 and more) included in survey. Reproductive indices (such as insemination interval, service period, meantime and the age of a cow when first calves) and also indices of milk efficiency in 1 kg of milk (for 100, 200 and 305 days of lactation) were monitored. The period of insemination interval was about 16,81 days shorter in the cow-shed where hormones (84,36; 101,17 days) were applied with confirmation statistically highly significant difference at the level of significance P < 0,001. There was no statistically significant difference when the duration of service period was measured. The duration of service period was on the same level in both cow-sheds (162,12; 162,84 days). When the outcomes of both cow-sheds were summarized the difference in the duration of meantime was found. With usage of synchronization the difference was 19,20 days, but without statistical demonstrativeness (P < 0,05) at the level 410,28; 429,48 days. When indices of milk efficiency were measured there were not found statistically significant differences as for the whole lactation (9 926,19; 9 749,48 kg of milk) and also for individual sections of lactation (100 days about 30,96 kg of milk more at the cow-shed without synchronization; 200 days about 78,44 kg of milk more at the cow-shed with synchronization).

Bibliografic identification BESTOVÁ, Zuzana. The effect of The Feldenkrais method on body schema. Prague: Charles University in Prague, 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Department of rehabilitation and exercise medicine, 2012. 96 pages. Supervisor Mgr. Magdaléna Lepšíková. Abstract The diploma thesis deals with neurophysiological concept of body schema and evaluation of the effect of the Feldenkrais method (FM) on its quality. The research comprises two groups of probands without motor system disorders. The participants passed an investigation of the body schema quality by the following tests: a test of estimation of body dimensions (width of mouth, width of shoulders, width of hips and length of foot), a modification of Petrie's test, a test of proprioception and a test of graphestesia. The examination was accomplished before FM investigation and after the course. The first group (group A) comprised 13 individuals (5 males, 8 females) who participated in a semestral course of FM, the second group of probands (group B) included 17 individuals (3 males, 14 females) underwent a two days long FM program. A significant improvement (p = 0,0027) in the estimation of the length of foot was detected after FM intervention in group B. There was not a significant improvement in any of estimated body dimensions in group A....
