Brood parasitism in Common Pochard - a proteomic analysis
Petrželková, Adéla ; Hořák, David (advisor) ; Piálková, Radka (referee)
Conspecific brood parasitism (CBP) is a situation, when female (a parasite) lays egg or eggs in a nest of other conspecific female (a host). Then she leaves the nest and doesn't provide any subsequent parental care, such incubation and care for young. To distinguish between parasitic and host egg or young could be difficult, because there are not obvious morphological differences. CBP was documented in more than 234 species and its frequency is different between species, but also between population of the same species. The main aim of my master thesis was to describe the degree of parasitism in two population of Common Pochard (Aythya ferina). The field work was carried out from 2004-2006 in Třeboň Biosphere Reserve and form 2008-2010 in Poodří Landscape Protected Area. We found that the degree of CBP is relatively high. In Třeboň was found 72 % (41) of parasitized nests and 32 % (165) of parasitic eggs and in Poodří 93 % (39) of parasitized nests and 37 % (153) of parasitic eggs. The mean number of eggs per clutch was around 9 and mean number of host eggs per clutch was 6 in Třeboň. The mean number of eggs per clutch in Poodří was about 10, and the mean number of host eggs was also about 6. The mean number of parasitic eggs per clutch was 3 resp. 4. It was also found, that parasitized nests are...

In my work diary is not only the object of the research but also the mean to get know the authors in the analysed period that includes the end of younger pupil age and start of adolescence (age dispersion is: 9; 6 - 13; 4). I would like to compare the results of my research with the theoretical knowledge of development psychology. I try to find out what wnting diaries means for the girls, which plače writing diaries has in their lives and what writing diaries brings them. In the theoretical part I discuss the diary as a literary genre and its usage in the psychological research. Theoretical problems of Spanish lexicography
Johnová, Barbara ; Čermák, Petr (advisor) ; Zavadil, Bohumil (referee)
The master's thesis Theoretical Problems of Spanish Lexicography introduces issues associated with creating general monolingual dictionaries. The thesis has two main objectives. Firstly, it aims to summarise the most frequent lexicographic issues and attempt to find their suitable solutions in practice through an analysis of significant research studies dealing with this subject. The issues have been divided into two groups depending on whether they regard the macrostructure (collection of dictionary entries) or microstructure (collection of headword information). As for the macrostructure, one of the main issues is posed by determining the criteria for the selection of dictionary entries. Modern descriptive lexicography considers lexical unit usage frequency to be the main criterion. The macrostructure of general monolingual dictionaries should generally not include proper nouns while productive affixes and affixoids, phraseological units with a high degree of idiomaticity, abbreviations and frequently used neologisms should be included. The thesis also explores the issue of distinguishing between cases of homonymy and polysemy and its impact on lexicographic practice. The chapter on microstructure focuses primarily on the issues of constructing lexicographic definitions with user...

The readiness of students of the first grade of nurse to meet with the dying person
BOLKOVÁ, Ilona
Title: Preparation of First-Year Students of the General Nurse Field of Study for Dealing with a Dying Patient. Theoretical foundations: Vocational preparation for a career as a nurse is not among the easiest. Beside the considerably difficult theoretical courses, the students must also undergo many hours of practical training. During the training, the students deal with child, adult and elderly patients. Each patient experiences different problems; usually, the patients reach full recovery or at least a significant improvement. Unfortunately, even in these highly advanced times, medicine is not all-powerful and students often have to deal with a terminal patient, a patient who is dying. This situation is undoubtedly very complicated, especially for a young person. Death, as the final stage of a human life, both directly and indirectly influences life around us, and encountering death makes every person feel differently. The study of nursing care has recently transitioned to the university level. The undertaking of this type of qualification studies strives to establish an educational programme that is comparable to other countries of the European Union and to secure more efficient care for the sick. It is assumed that the higher age of the students and their higher maturity will facilitate a more mature perspective on the studies. The goal of this work: The principal goal of the bachelor thesis was to offer a comprehensive overview of the area of vocational preparation of first-year students of the General Nurse Field of study for dealing with a dying patient. Two research questions were established: How prepared are first-year students of the General Nurse Field of study for encountering a dying patient, what is their theoretical knowledge of the issue of dying? What is their assessment of their preparedness for dealing with a dying patient? With the help of these questions we aimed to find out whether the students encountered a dying patient during their first practical training and obtain an assessment of their current knowledge gained during the first semester at the Faculty of Health and Social Studies. Methodology used: To obtain information, a qualitative research was carried out that used non-standardized semi-structured interviews. The interviews were based on 18 research questions prepared up front. Ten first-year students of the General Nurse Field of study at the Faculty of Health and Social Studies in České Budějovice were approached. Before starting the interviews, the respondents were assured that their anonymity was guaranteed and that the interviews would be recorded on a voice recorder. Afterwards, they were placed into separate categories and subcategories. The research was carried out in March, 2014. Results: The results of the bachelor thesis show the real degree of preparedness of first-year students of the General Nurse Field of study for dealing with a dying patient. Answers to the main research questions were processed in detail in the research section, the set goal was met. The results showed that the theoretical knowledge of the students has significant shortcomings. Most of them lack a basic understanding of the stages of dying, of certain and uncertain signs of death and of taking care of a dead body. Nor are they sufficiently prepared for communication with a terminal patient and his or her family. Acquiring these skills should be a matter of course for exercising the profession of a nurse. Yet, the majority of the students stated that they find their training sufficient and that they consider its extension unnecessary. Most of them think that they will learn the right approach towards a dying patient while carrying out their duties and from their own experience; nonetheless, it is certainly worth considering whether it would be desirable to at least partially expand the scope of education in this particular area. Conclusion: The principal benefit of the bachelor thesis

Nursing care for cadaverous patients and nurses views on organ donation.
PÍŠOVÁ, Barbora
This Bachelor degree work is focused on the issue of the nursing care for the cadaverous patient, on its specific features, on the knowledge of nurses and on their opinions of the transplantation program. Result of the work creates an information brochure which will serve as a guideline for all nurses of the Department of Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation in Písek Hospital and it will help them to be quickly and well informed on the nursing care for the donors. The work is divided into two parts. In the first part there are stated legal regulations which run the transplantation process in the Czech Republic, next there are mentioned duties of the doctors from the donor hospital and examinations which are necessary for pronouncing the brain dead. The first part also describes activities of the coordination centre which is in charge of the process itself. Further, there is dealt with the ethic of the organ transplantation. The description of the nursing care for the donor with the beating heart forms a major part of the work. It involves the basic nursing and intensive care, specific examinations and documentation, doctors´ assistance and patients´ monitoring. For the second research part there were set two aims, which we tried to explain by means of interviews involving several groups of questions. Respondents were only nurses who have already had experience with the care for donors. The research questions were answered by means of the qualitative research investigation using the form of the semi-structure interview. The aims were supposed to map out the nursing care for donors from nurses´ point of view and to map out the nurses´ opinion of the donorship. The groups of questions concerned the specific features of the nursing care, nurses´ knowledge in this care and their opinion of the transplantation program. The research confirmed that this care has its specific characteristics, nurses have sufficient knowledge about the issue and they have mostly positive opinion of transplantation. On the basis of the research there was compiled a brief information brochure designed not only for beginning nurses. Students of medical branches can benefit from the work too.

Jirků, Jan ; Jirák, Jan (advisor) ; Köpplová, Barbara (referee)
The rigorous thesis named Agenda-setting at the Local Level deals with concept agenda-setting and applies it on the research made in local conditions. It is checked to what degree the process of agenda-setting is functional on this level and how in the concrete it expresses oneself. At the same time follows up-to-date trend of research in agenda-setting being characterized by displacement from macro structural level to micro structural level and by replacement of general hypotheses to concrete hypotheses. The rigorous thesis describes relationships among citizens of Nové Město na Moravě including integrated villages as representatives of local public agenda, toll-free fortnightly Novoměstsko that belongs to local media agenda and municipal politicians as representatives of local political agenda. It is based on groundbreaking studies that checked the validity of agenda-setting on the macro structural level and it is used quantitative and qualitative methods that propped oneself upon that studies. The way of fortnightly publishing and the town government were changed in the period between the first and the second research. Therefore, the rigorous thesis also analyzes impact of these changes on the process of agenda-setting.
