Problematic issues of home schooling

This work deals with the general issue of homeschooling, particularly the negative aspects that can bring this type of education. At first the theoretical part gives the definition of basic and advanced terms and subsequently the approach of the topic including legislative measures and implementation of homeschooling in the Czech Republic and also in other European and non-European countries. Consequently, analyzes the potential pitfalls of individualized education. The practical part is focused on the specific experience of people who are involved in the homeschooling. This part is processed through interviews with graduates of this form of education, their parents and through communication with the school. The aim of this work is to explain the issue, the motives that lead parents to choose this form of education and to critically analyse all the negatives associated with homeschooling.
Forms of family and school colaboration in primary school

The thesis deals with the process of building up partnership between family, school and the class teacher at the very beginning of school attendance and the possible forms it can take. The theoretical part describes both, the family and school, as an educational institution, defines these concepts from the legislative and pedagogoical point of view. It proceeds further with showing the historical development and its logical continuation in contemporary tendencies to build up the relationship between family and school, which can happen in two ways; the first possibility is to view the position of the teacher as the dominant person in the process, another possibility is democratic, humanistic, child-oriented. The latter attitude is presented as "Step by step" (literally "Staring together"in the Czech usage). The empirical part brings up the author's actual research work, suggesting strategies and possibilities of partnership between parents and school, in the alternative offer of activites devised to involve the family into the educational process. Cooperation between the innovative schools and families at the start attendance

This work's aim is to chart the extent and the actual forms of cooperation between innovative schools and families at the beginning of school attendance. In this case, innovative school is defined as a school that teaches children to read by the genetic method or that teaches the children in the primary school the Fraus mathematics by authors Hejný, Jirotková, Slezáková-Kratochvílová, Michnová. In the theoretical part, I find out the principles on which both the new concept of Fraus mathematics and the genetic method of reading are based, and I make a link between them and the constructivist conception of teaching as well as the teacher's competences. In a wider context, this work discusses the work with mistake and emphasizes the significance of creativity. In the practical part, I used the method of written questionnaire to find out the actual forms of cooperation between these schools and families before and after the children enter the first class. Also, the questionnaire finds out what are the teachers' crucial urges to change the way of teaching of mathematics and reading as well as what is the positive of this change in the teacher's view.
Electronic communication between parents and teachers

Communication between parents and teachers is an important part of education. Increasingly, in addition to personal and telephone communication occurs an electronic communication, especially via email. This work focuses on the theoretical level the relationship of family and school, its historical development and current form and the relationship of parents to school and communication between parents and teachers. It also discusses the basic theoretical knowledge of electronic communications, especially e-mail as a mean of communication between parents and teachers. In the practical part follows empirical research on specific e-mail communication between teacher and parents at the school for children with learning disabilities. This investigation is focused primarily on the quantity and content page e-mail correspondence between the teacher and parents. It analyzes, how is the ability to email as a mean of contact used and which themes in this communication often occur.
The Family Influence over Choosing an Occupation of Elementary School Pupils

RESUME The times based on one individual's decision about which school to study to be able to choose further continuous and smooth career path has been over. As a result of current global and local social changes everybody should be prepared to the every possible change in career. Nevertheless the first choice of career is still an important milestone and can direct the individual career, but it is not the only key milestone, that determines the individual career once and for ever. People in contemporary world should be able to respond quickly to constant changes, evaluate new situations and be able to make the right decisions. The widespread myth is that success means to raise money as quickly as possible to guarantee the freedom and happiness. But a real success is a contented life, which is a long way over such values as for example certainty that we are doing the work that we like and which fills us with satisfaction. Individual goal is to focus on the abilities and skills so that the decision directs to such a career path where one will be able to optimally exploit one's potential in a future career. Educational specifics of pupils with autism

This thesis deals with educational specifics of autistic pupils. In the beginning, the author describes the elemental areas of disorders within the Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and the basic methods applied on work with such disordered individuals. The thesis also briefly presents the system of education of pupils and students with ASD in the Czech Republic. The core of the thesis is constituted by a description of TEACCH Program, which is thought to be the most effective method within the work with autistic students. There is also a research attached to the paper, which is grounded on informations gained from teachers and parents of pupils of the Special nursery school, Special primary school and Special school of ELPIS, where the ASD pupils are handled according to the principles of TEACCH Program. The survey was made by using the method of structured conversation and there were six subjects of the research, six particular pupils. The aim of the research was to find out, how much the treatment in school and at home varies and how are the six subjects influenced by this differences. This thesis deals with the forms of cooperation between parents and nursery school. The theoretical part focuses on family and school as educational institutions, their definition, historical development and the related current trends in cooperation between them. It defines the forms of cooperation in the core curriculum and is looking for inspiring elements of this strategy and cooperation in innovative educational programs, "Step by Step" and "Health Promoting Schools" The empiric part presents the research that focuses on development cooperation nursery schools and families. Family and school cooperation

The bases of this diploma thesis are a family and school cooperation, means of cooperation and ways leading to a cooperation improvement. The submitted work deals with theoretical aspects of the family and school co- operation and a report from a practical investigation on this subject executed at the primary school follows. The research is based on the exploring method of an interview (i.a. via web pages created by myself) for current and future teachers at primary schools and for parents. The work focuses on upgrading and reengineering of communication forms be- tween schools and parents. The parent is considered as a "consumer , a "partner or a "citizen . This point of view is based on the empirical research of the family and school cooperation by Milada Rabušicová and Milan Pol. This research has been executed at the primary schools in Brno. Next, the models of family and school partnerships in accordance with Birte Ravnová are also introduced. A definition of terms: a family (by several experts), a function of family and type of family (in accordance with so-called a "Functionality of family questionnaire ) is introduced. Parents Participation in the Education in Kindergarten

This bachelor thesis deals with parent participation in kindergarten education in the present day. The theoretical part includes a characteristic of present-day families with pre-school children, a description of the development of parent-school relationship, a characteristic of present-day kindergarten and parent participation on child's pre-school education therein. It also defines the legislative framework for family participation in kindergarten education and for the representation if family in various programmes organized by the kindergarten. The practical part is dedicated to the research project whose goal is to provide an overview of the ways parents participate in kindergarten education in České Budějovice and its surroundings. It also examines how parent participation differs in individual types of kindergartens both in town and in the village.
Development cooperation of parents and schools from elementary to secondary school

Presented work deals with relation changes between school and family environment during transition of pupil from basic to secondary school. Theoretical part explains following terms : school function, family function, evolution and transformation in family, role of parents in relation to school, cooperation between family and school, forms of cooperation and socialisation. Practical part depicts independent survey aimed on cooperation between family and school. There are used questionaires for pupils from 8th and 9th class, and similar ones are also used for the 1st and the 2nd class of the secondary school. Finally, there are also used interviews with school directors. The goal of such survey is to clarify that parents, teachers and their pupils perceive mutual cooperation and communication and what consequences in relation school ? family could be observed.
