This bachelor thesis deals with a subjective experiencing of four respondents at acute stage of paranoid schizophrenia and their satisfaction with a treatment and content of time during hospitalization at one of the departments of psychiatry in the Bohnice hospital. It was found out that patients were most satisfied with a care of department's staff. However, a moderate criticism of different departments appeared as well. It was especially criticism of departments with restricted access. As far as experiencing the acute stage of the disorder is concerned, various existential problems, fears, chaotic and odd thinking as well as problems concerning relationships with close people appeared to be related to the disorder itself. The contribution of the thesis is that it points out a possibility of better integration of patients into a cooperation during the treatment through their own understanding of their disease and understanding of their experience. The first part of the thesis defines a concept of schizophrenia from different theoretical points of view which complement one another rather than being in opposition. LCD and VLCD diets are used in preoperative preparation of obese patients and to break insulin resistance in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM II). The aim of the theoretical part is to compare obesity treatment in medical care and commercial weight loss programs (for commercial weight loss programs the term "obesity management" is used). The study evaluate the most common indications for WLH, determine weight changes during the hospitalization and compare the weight of patients with DM II and without DM II (nDM II) one year after the WLH. Methods: The input data were obtained from the Medea database. These are the anamnestic data of patients hospitalized for the purpose of losing weight on the Third Medical Department of First Faculty of Medicine Charles University and General University Hospital in Prague in the period of January 2014 - January 2015. Candidate: Kateřina Kukrálová1 Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Jiří Vlček, CSc.1 Consultant: PharmDr. Zuzana Očovská1 1 Department Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University Title of the master thesis: The analysis of drug-drug interactions in patients admitted to hospital (I.) The presence of potential drug-drug interactions (DDIs) is common in daily practice and only a small proportion of potential DDIs results in hospitalization of the patients. Nevertheless, DDIs represent a significant cause of hospital admissions. This study aims to identify DDIs in the medication history of the patients admitted to University Hospital Hradec Králové via the emergency department in August-November 2018. The objectives of this study are a) to determine the prevalence of potential DDIs; b) to categorize identified potential DDIs with respect to their mechanism, severity, risk rating, level of documentation and potential outcomes and c) to determine the prevalence of manifest DDIs. This study has a cross-sectional design. The following data were obtained retrospectively from electronic medical records: demographic data, medication history, past medical history, laboratory and clinical findings, and information about hospital admission. Autism spectrum disorderčs in the education system of the secondary nursing schools
Niederlová, Veronika ; Zemková, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Němec, Zbyněk (referee)
Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are characterized by deficits in the areas of communication and social interaction, stereotypic behaviour and changes in the sensory processing. These symptoms pose challenges to everyday situations such as visits to the doctor's office, which are more stressful for children with ASD and their parents than for the general population. Furthermore, more than one-third of parents have encountered refusal to provide medical care for their child because of ASD. In our diploma project, we combined the parent's reports with an analysis of international sources to create a project called AutFriendly which aims to increase the knowledge of the Czech healthcare practitioners about ASD. In the presented thesis, we summarize the theoretical background in the field of healthcare provision for people with ASD and we review current Czech and international literature to show how the topic of ASD is addressed in the education of healthcare practitioners. In the practical part of the thesis, we summarize our two-year experience with the AutFriendly project. First, we created a two- hour AutFriendly workshop for the students of secondary schools of nursing and we put it into practice with more than 250 participating students of the Czech secondary schools of nursing. Second, we...
Early mobilization in critically ill patient
Veberová, Marta ; Pucholtová, Romana (advisor) ; Hocková, Jana (referee)
Introduction: The most of critical ill patients is immobilised for short or longer period of time. This depends on the character of their illness, medication or another organ support. As it has been proved during critical illness and forced immobilisation there is an significant reducing in muscle strength, exactly in 3 to 11 percent with every another day of immobilisation (46.) It is necessary to say that early mobilisation is not standardised approach in Czech medical environment. Aim of tthe work: The main target of this diploma is to figure out whether early mobilisation in critical ill patients means any significant difference in their functional status in comparison to those given standardised physiotherapy. Another target of this research is to set up safe and structured protocol for leading early mobilisation and to determine whether exercising with cyclo ergometer is linked to higher risk of side effects and to state the most probable reasons for delayed or not performed rehabilitation. Research methods: This diploma thesis is based on randomised research. Participants in the control group are undergoing standardised rehabilitation, intervention group is undergoing extended rehabilitation with cycle ergometer. The cyclo ergometer exercise will take place at least six times a week with...
