Peroutková, Jana ; Lupač, Petr (advisor) ; Duffková, Jana (referee)
The thesis is based on the content analysis of new websites in terms of tabloid. Later it shows, that this phenomenon is a very delicate issue, especially in terms of the definition and identification of the key indicators of tabloiding or popularization. In the thesis I especially want to develop discussion about (not) comprehension tabloid tendencies. How do news sites appeal to readers? How does their approach differ? How do they evolve? And which direction to take in the future ? I tried to find the answer to these questions. I could not neglect print media, which arose due to their electronic form. To get more familiar with this issue, I interviewed editors of news sites, which revealed, inter ali, their relationship and approach to tabloids. Keywords: News websites, bulvarization, popularization, internet
Media image of football in the Czech news agency press service in the years 2000-2010
Slomek, Jan ; Trunečková, Ludmila (advisor) ; Kraus, Jiří (referee)
The objective of this thesis is to describe and analyze the current media image of football that was developed in the first decade of the 21st century by the Czech News Agency (CTK). Using particular samples I am aiming to find the changes in volume, differences in topics and the presentation of the CTK's football agency news in years 2000-2010. The background of this work is mainly the analysis of agency created news, issued in a specifically chosen period of time and then archived in the CTK databank. The thesis only focuses on the text sections of the news. Pictures, audiovisuals and info-graphics were avoided as their possible inclusion would significantly exceed the requested scope of the project. Information can be also found on the internal point of view (based on an in-depth interview with a CTK sports editor specializing in football) and also external point of view (using the outcomes from the questionnaire survey between the employees from certain print, audiovisual and Internet media houses, who are some of the main users of sports agency services, especially those specializing in football). This work will try to show how the Czech News Agency perceives itself, what impact it has and to what extend it can be relied upon as a reliable source for other parts of the media. An important...

Ringier is one of the most powerful players on the media scene of Switzerland. The last chapter describes the general trend of the change of media towards tabloid type, the trend is supported by the Swiss media quality research done at Universität Zürich.

Tabloidization and public service media
LUKEŠOVÁ, Daniela
This thesis seeks to define the difference between commercial media and public service media, given the degree of tabloidization. The work is based on the assumption that the tabloid principles do not interfere only the commercial media, but due to the gradual development of the media industry they even penetrate the public service media. The work is focused on the reasons and forms of penetration by the tabloid media principles to the public. The theoretical section outlines the basic theoretical background and terminology to the topic of public service media and to the topic of tabloid principles. There are presented the characteristics of the tabloid media in the theoretical part, not only in theme but also in language. At first the methods used are presented in the analytic part and then work attempts to outline the current situation in the public service media, specifically on the example of radio broadcasting. The practical part of this thesis is based on the content analysis of media messages. Public media represents the Český Rozhlas 1 - Radiožurnál, concretely its news reports. This work not only tries to find the tabloid principles in broadcast of this media, but also try to make its comparison with the news of commercial media, represented by broadcasting station Radio Impuls. Aim of this work is to confirm or eventually to refute the assumption that public service media in the Czech Republic are affected by some degree of tabloidization in the form of penetration of tabloid principles.
