Vančurová, Kateřina ; Trunečková, Ludmila (advisor) ; Francová, Pavla (referee)
The diploma thesis "The Influence of Agency News from the Czech News Agency on the Content of Foreign News Sections in Periodicals" is focused on the thematic a geopolitical focus of the foreign news sections of Czech national dailies in comparison with the agency service of the Czech Newa Agency (CTK). The thesis strives to answer the question, how similar they are. At the same time, work with sources is compared. The theoretical basis for this thesis lies in the theorie of gatekeeping, news values and agenda setting. Two month-long periods were analyzed in the thesis, with emphasis on the comparability of the work with sources. March 2012, a so-called usual month with no expected events of big importance, was compared to the period between 20 October and 20 November 2012, when presidential elections went on in the United States of America. Three hypotheses were determined; of them, two were confirmed and one partially disproved. Powered by TCPDF (

News sources and thier journalists. The issue of diversity resources in the context of the sociology of news
Křížová, Vendula ; Trampota, Tomáš (advisor) ; Trunečková, Ludmila (referee)
The thesis "News sources and their journalists : the issue of diversity resources in the context of the sociology of news" summarizes the current knowledge and understanding of sociology of news and sources and adds a bio-anthropological look at the strength and stability of relationships between the sources and journalists. These concepts will be then applied in quantitative research affecting the characteristics of sources cited in three selected Czech daily (Hospodářské noviny, Mladá fronta DNES and Právo). The survey of similar scope has not yet been generated in the Czech Republic. Research results follow the theoretical concepts and empirical researches and agree with them that the journalists in their daily routine work regularly turn to the "elite group of resources" for quotations. These sources are also quoted more often than other sources. However, there are so many people in the group of information resources spread around the editorial offices of newspapers that it is almost impossible to talk about lack of diversity of sources. Research also confirmed that different types of media dont differ at all from each other in the basic parameters and are turning to the same types of resources regularly and with the same frequency.
