Role of human figure drawing in Indicative test of school maturity

The thesis studies the role of human figure drawing in Orientační test školní zralosti (i. e. Jirasek's Orientation Test of School Readiness). The starting point is the correspondence between human figure drawing and other tasks in both verbal and non-verbal thinking. For the empirical material we have chosen pre-school children results in Orientační test školní zralosti, including the verbal thinking test and Raven's Coloured Progressive Matrices. The aim is to examine correspondence of human figure drawing with other tasks taking into account verbal and non-verbal thinking and logical and infralogic operations. The data was collected in two stages with the interval of four months and therefore it is able to assess durability of findings in time. The thesis is beneficial in terms of qualitative analysis of discovered correspondences and also in developing a theory of abilities tested by the test, especially regarding human figure drawing. Last but not least it is helpful in examining similarities and differences in the ability of children to analyse and synthetize. Differences between the homogenous and heterogenous classes arranged at maternity schools, plus the influence of these arrangements on the child's preparedness to enter the first grade of elementary school.

Résumé This thesis deals with finding differences between homogeneously and heterogeneously assorted classes in nursery schools and their influence on the readiness of a child to enter the first class in elementary school. The theoretical part focuses on school maturity and readiness, general characterization of a pre-school child before entering the first class in elementary school, differences between heterogeneously and homogeneously assorted classes in nursery schools and finally on a child's preparedness for the compulsory education. The practical part shows the results of a research carried out by the means of an author's test of school maturity method and a questionnaire. The research sample consisted of children of pre-school age before entering elementary schools from heterogeneous and homogeneous nursery school classes and pedagogues from nursery and elementary schools. The main objective of this research was to find out which children are better prepared for entering elementary school, whether from homogeneous or heterogeneous classes in nursery schools. The diagnosis of school maturity in relation to the pupil's adaptation to the 1st year of primary school

The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the determination of the development characteristics of the period from the age of three to eight (i.e. pre-school and younger school age). The principal focus is on the issue of school maturity, the possibilities of its diagnosis and the pupils' adaptation to the first year of primary school. The empirical part introduces a quantitative research focused on some diagnostic methods (the Orientation Test of School Maturity - Orientační test školní zralosti, the Knowledge Test of Pre-school Children - Zkouška znalostí předškolních dětí and The Star - Wave Test) and the possibility of using these methods for predicting a child's adaptation to the first year of primary school. The thesis aims to examine how these methods could be used and also to show the possible limits related to using these methods. Integration of boy in the regular nursery school

A dissertation "Integration of a boy with atypical autism into regular kindergarten" has the aim to present a particular process of integration in the regular kindergarten. It gives you a brief characteristic of preschool age, education in preschool age and a procedure of integration and related circumstances. A theoretical part brings you a view of child development in preschool period, specifics of preschool education and a process of integration in the Czech Republic. A research project has the aim to chart how is the integration perceived by three people who are involved in the integration. It is about the attitude of a mother, a headmistress and a class teacher who has been teaching the boy this year. Next there are given the tests that have the aim to determine the boy's current school maturity. These diagnostic tools were used - Orientational graphic test of the school maturity (Jirásek, 1970), Observational scheme for assessment of the school maturity (Kondáš, 1984). Readiness of Children to Start School in Cesky Brod Region

The diploma thesis concerns with the school readiness issue in region Cesky Brod. High number of children with compulsory school attendance postponement resists these days, which the government decided to solve with compulsory preprimary year implementation. When framework education programs came into force, schools drew up their own school education programs. The basis, with which they enter the school, diversified. The goal of the thesis is to determine the areas in which most children had problems during the first grade enrollments in Cesky Brod region. The readiness of children to enter school is studied also from the parents' and the teachers' point of view and their points of view are compared. The research combines three methods - observation, questionnaire and case history. For the research during the first grades enrollments the observation was chosen. On the basis of the theory the areas for observation were determined and assessed according to the chosen assessment criteria. The points of view of the parents and teachers were examined in the questionnaire. Anotation The Diploma thesis deals with the transition of a child from nursery school to primary school. The important factor deciding on the entrance to primary school is school maturity and school preparedness. The theoretic part deals with these themes., The theoretic part further describes the characteristics of a preschool child, its entrance to primary school and school attendance postponement. The practical part investigates the whole process of primary school enrollment. It finds out how school mature or immature children are. The basic methods of the research investigation are the orientation Test of School Maturity (Jirásek), observation, casuistical methods of preschool children and conversation with chosen children.

Options of development of partial functions of pre-school children Abstract This thesis is focused on issue of the development of partial functions in preschool age and mapping of the course of development of partial functions in kindergartens in Karlovy Vary Region and Prague. The task of the theoretical part is to define the notions of partial functions and partial functions deficits and to explain their relationship to specific learning disabilities. It describes the characteristics of preschool age and options of development of partial functions in its course. It includes basic information about school maturity, pedagogical- psychological diagnostics of children in kindergartens. It mentions also the child's enrollment in the first grade of primary school and school attendance delay. The aim of practical part is to map the access of kindergarten teachers to options of development of partial functions in Karlovy Vary Region and Prague, comparing the survey results obtained in these two regions and supplement obtained data with the information gathered from the interview. Assessment of school maturity for entry to elementary school

This bachelor thesis deals with the assessment of school maturity and readiness of preschool children at the enrollment to primary school. The theoretical part describes the developmental level of a preschool child and then defines the basic terms used in the text - the school maturity and readiness. Furthermore, the reader can read about the issue of assessment of school maturity and readiness of children before entering the primary school and about the regulation of compulsory school attendance. The aim of practical part is to evaluate functionality of the enrollment in terms of school maturity and readiness of preschool children assessment at six selected primary schools. Observations and interviews were used to achieve the objectives. Based on the analysis of collected data, the enrollment process at selected primary schools seems not to be fully functional. The practical part contains the recording data sheets monitoring the enrollment process at selected primary schools.
