Synopsis The aim of this diploma is to chronicle the history of the noble family of Lobkowicz of Melnik. The body of the research paper focuses on the development of the house of Lobkowicz from the beginning of the twentieth century until the present days. During this particular period of time the members of noble family of Lobkowicz have considerably participated in political, social and public life. The attention was also given to detailed description of history of family estates and land tenure during the emphasised period of time. Especially the manor of Melnik, Horin and Drahenice which were one of the main interests of new states and political constitutions forming in Central Europe during the twentieth century
Project teaching: The greatest people of Kladno

This diploma thesis deals with the project that should have introduced 14 personalities who made famous the city of Kladno and its surroundings. The project was defined for chosen students from The Grammar School of Kladno. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part relates to the issue of importance and contribution of regional history. Practical part describes in detail process and results of the project. The project contains of 14 personalities from the history of Kladno, the layout of lessons dealing with these personalities and biographies of personalities that were worked out by students as a result of the project.
Baroque era in Lysá nad Labem as applied in the educational project training on the secondary level of a primary school

Keywords: Regional history, project methods, baroque and baroque culture Abstract: The thesis deals primarily with the baroque era of Lysá nad Labem regional history and its application in the educational project at the secondary level of a primary school. The first part of the Diploma thesis contains a short overview of regional literature concerning Lysá as well as pedagogic literature suitable for project training. There is an overall characteristic of the Baroque era in the Czech lands with the focus on how it was expressed in art, religion and thinking of people back then and how it influenced the landscape formation. The emphasis is placed on the Baroque era of Lysá nad Labem. Its history is being described along with the history of the most influential family in the area the Sporcks. All of the baroque monuments in the town and its surroundings are described in order for the theoretical part to be complete and with respect to their possible application in the project training. Years 1848-1849 in Čáslav and Kutná Hora

The diploma thesis ,,Years 1848-1849 in Čáslav and Kutná Hora" focuses on the expert description of events in the revolutionary years of two cities in today's Central Bohemia region. The thesis firstly pursues the characteristics of both towns in the first half of the 19th century. It focuses on the appearance of the town, administrative changes, school and theatre life, health facilities, significant national revivalists and also on the economic area. The main part of the work presents a brief outline of reactions on Prague March events both in Čáslav and Kutná Hora, mainly about the active participation of citizens of both cities in the basic National Guard. In the case of Kutná Hora, the foundation of subsidiary of Prague political association Slovanská lípa also occurred. In Čáslav, the thesis also follows the administrative and schooling changes. The work includes two comparisons of both the towns firstly in the first half of the 19th century and then also the revolutionary years 1848-1849. In the last chapter, the thesis introduces the situation in the countryside from the years 1848- 1849 and also the complaints of the villages of Čáslav region about the relationship towards the Národní výbor in Prague. The use of regional history in history classes with examples from Kladno region

The diploma thesis titled "The use of regional history in history classes with examples from Kladno region" deals with the topic of regional history, the history of the Kladno region and questionnaire about teaching regional history at schools in the Kladno region. It also offers a thought how this topic can be included in the history classes. One of the primary objectives of this thesis was to explain the importance of regional history and its inclusion in education. Relevant specialized literature was thoroughly analyzed for this purpose. The inclusion of this topic is especially important in order for the pupils to better understand various historical phenomena through an environment which is familiar to them. Another important objective was to find out whether regional history is being taught at all at schools in the Kladno region, what forms are used for this purpose, and which topics are included. In order to find the answers a questionnaire was sent to the teachers and pupils in the Kladno region. The results suggest that the majority of teachers attempt to include regional history in their history classes, even when faced with unfavorable time allotment. This diploma thesis named Civic amenities in Pacov in the 1960s examines a civic amenities in the town of Pacov in the 1960s within regional history. The main purpose of this thesis is to describe the development of defined areas of civic amenities (health care, retail network, communal services) providing some (basic) needs of citizens in the chosen city and time period. The primary source of this research are the archival sources from the examined period. This thesis at first introduces the research topic and purposes of the work, important concepts and sources used, then the national historical context of the examined period. The main part of the thesis follows: a description of the development of specific areas of civic amenities. The thesis ends with visual materials related to the topic. A dissident's life in a small town in northeast region of Bohemia

The diploma thesis, based primarily on the method of oral history, deals with selected chapters from the life of Petr Rýgr, a dissident and a person belonging to the circle of parallel culture. It is conceived as an episodic biography, while in the course of the research it follows the topic of the desire for a free life in a represive regime. The time limit corresponds to the period, called as "normalization" in socialist Czechoslovakia. The work captures the life of a dissident on a regional scale, on the border of the districts of Trutnov and Náchod. Rýgr's life is viewed in the text from several perspectives, primarily the self-concept of the protagonist, the view of his friends, and then the view of the author of the work based on the interpretation of interviews and the study of written sources. The individual chapters deal with Rýgr's adolescence, the possible degree of formation by opinion authorities, Václav Havel or Jaroslav Foglar, as well as life in a parallel, unofficial world, the issue of work duty or the October 1989 event when Petr Rýgr sent an advertisement to Rudé právo congratulating Václav Havel alias Ferdinand Vaňek on his birthday. Czechs and Germans in the Polička's Region in the 20th Century: Regional Probe Into Czech-German Coexistence in the Ethnically Mixed District of Polička

Using a method of regional probing, the thesis seeks to map the evolution of relations between the Czech majority and the German minority that resided in the former political district of Policka. The analysis concentrates on the period of 1897-1946, with a concentration focusing on the culture of remembering and the ways in which both ethnic groups came to divergent interpretations of their mutually-shared history. The author strives to identify the factors that influneced the actions and positions of the local populace during the key political events of 1918, 1938 and 1945. He concentrates not only on the everday interactions between both ethnic groups, but also on the conditions that both groups found themelves in during the so-called national confrontation.
