Active Learning with Neural Networks
Beneš, Štěpán ; Fajčík, Martin (referee) ; Hradiš, Michal (advisor)
The topic of this thesis is the combination  of active learning strategies used in conjunction with deep convolutional networks in image recognition tasks. The goal is to observe the behaviour of selected active learning strategies in a wider array of conditions. The first section of the thesis is dedicated to the theory of active learning, followed by the motivation and challenges of combining them with convolutional neural networks. The goal of this thesis is achieved by a series of experiments, in which the behaviour of active learning strategies is tested for dependencies on the difficulty of the dataset, quality of the learning model, number of training epochs, the size of a batch of samples added in each iteration, the oracle's consistency and the usage of pseudo-labeling technique. The results show the dependency of continuous active learning on the number of training epochs in each iteration and the difficulty of a given dataset. Chosen strategies also seem somewhat resistant to the oracle's faults. The benefits of using pseudo-labeling come hand in hand with the quality of the learning model. Finally, traditional active learning strategies have shown in some cases that they are capable of keeping the pace with modern, tailored strategies.
Active Learning for Image Classification
Lorenzová, Kateřina ; Pilát, Martin (advisor) ; Křen, Tomáš (referee)
The thesis is a practical application of image analysis and classification methods, inspired by the behaviour of human eye. The method used doesn't require complete information of the analysed image. It uses autonomous agents that see only a part of the image instead. These agents themselves decide which other parts of the image they need to see for more precise result. The behavior of agents is controlled by a neural network, trained specifically for that purpose by an evolutionary learning algorithm. Data used for the training come from MNIST (2011), a database of handwritten numbers. This collection also contains a separate testing set, on which the behavior of autonomous agents was tested afterwards.
Evolutionary algorithms and active learning
Repický, Jakub ; Holeňa, Martin (advisor) ; Fink, Jiří (referee)
Názov práce: Evoluční algoritmy a aktivní učení Autor: Jakub Repický Katedra: Katedra teoretické informatiky a matematické logiky Vedúci diplomovej práce: doc. RNDr. Ing. Martin Holeňa, CSc., Ústav informa- tiky, Akademie věd České republiky Abstrakt: Vyhodnotenie ciel'ovej funkcie v úlohách spojitej optimalizácie často do- minuje výpočtovej náročnosti algoritmu.
Historical curriculum at primary school
Šulcová, Jana ; Dvořáková, Michaela (advisor) ; Stará, Jana (referee)
This thesis discusses the historical curriculum in primary school and looking for ways to teach it effectively. Its aim is to analyze the educational goals of the historical curriculum of primary school. The introduction deals with the question of why history should be part of education in the first grade of primary school. Furthermore, it compares the historical conception of education at primary school in our conditions with the concept of the state, whose aims and methods of historical thinking are inspiring for us. Based on the findings and recommendations of domestic and foreign researches are in the empirical part of the thesis didactic designed tutorials selected topic historical subject matter with regard to diagnosis and development of historical thinking. Proposed lessons were implemented in the second year of primary school. At the end of each lesson is to evaluate the effectiveness of proposed schemes through analysis worksheets and comparing the results of the input and output mind maps and chalk talk. The entire set of lessons is evaluated through analysis of the final evaluation sheets pupils.
Project method at primary school
Vilímová, Ivana ; Tomková, Anna (advisor) ; Kargerová, Jana (referee)
The diploma thesis: "Project method at primary school" deals with the development of new knowledge and skills through the project method, analysis of the quality of its use and possibilities of its application in practice. The work discusses how teachers work on projects with new information, how they develop new knowledge and skills of their students when using the project method. Furthermore it brings author's own project the purpose of which was to allow students to invent new knowledge on their own. The project method at the first school can be carried out by either short-term or long-term projects. Effectivity and quality of teaching is influenced by versatile development of personality of each student. Results of the questionnaire survey proves that the teachers are trying to ensure students enough opportunities for development of key competencies. They strive to put students in the working mood and try to build rich information background. Teachers knowingly consider these aspects however they are not convinced whether it is sufficient for the students. Results of student questionnaire captures how students perceive the work with new information acquired during the project. The project awakens students' interest in these information even for the future. When working on the project students...
Use of Games and Toys for Assisting the Development of Children with Severe multiple Disabilities and Visual Impairment
Trojánková, Jana ; Šumníková, Pavlína (advisor) ; Květoňová, Lea (referee)
The thesis 'The Use of Games and Toys for Assisting the Development of Children with Severe multiple Disabilities and Visual Impairment' is focused on the possibilities of development of children with severe multiple disabilities who additionally suffer from severe visual impairment. It describes the possibilities of using toys and games for specific visual and multisensory stimulation as part of the educational process. The theoretical section defines basic concepts and discusses the theoretical basis relating to the development of the child's visual perception and the development of fine and gross motor skills. It also describes some of the most common diagnoses associated with the syndromes that cause multiple disability. The practical section of the thesis consists of a case-study of a child with severe multiple and visual disabilities.
Education projects focused on the area of Milíčov forest and ponds
Kusková, Lenka ; Skýbová, Jana (advisor) ; Pavlasová, Lenka (referee)
Title: Educational projects focused on the area of Milíčov forest and ponds. This graduation thesis deals with project education in the field of natural monument Milíčov forest and ponds. It directly borders with southern city housing estate. Result of this work is a collection of materials focusing on environmental education and upbringing pupils on 2nd stage of basic schools, which are located near this monument. These are mainly a methodology for teachers, manual to the project education, worksheets for pupils and creative solution of worksheets for teachers. The starting point for creating projects has been a partial study, questionnaire and open discussion with students. Teoretical part at its beginning describes general conservation and special nature protection, to place issues in a boarder context. The historical aspect is also mentioned. In the thesis are also defined Milíčov forests and ponds characteristics, taking into account their rarities. It is mainly dealt with occurring of important species and specially protected species in this area. In my work is also given the emphasis on the General educational program, environmental education, analysis of schoolbooks and organizational forms of teaching. I bear on didactic theory of which I issued in projects creating. Keywords: General...
