The motive of justice and its social psychological correlates

The thesis aims at social psychological aspects of the justice motive. Its purpose is to outline the links between justice motivation and social context, primarily to socioeconomic status, social identity and culture. Major differences between implicit and explicit justice motives are presented, the focus is mainly on the belief in a just world as an important indicator of the justice motive. Distributive and procedural norms of justice are described considering their social dependences. The justice motive and evaluation are viewed from the perspectives of theory of social exchange and equity, social identity theory and theory of system justification. In the empirical part the relation between SES and BJW in Czech society is tested in two studies. The analysis results of the quota public opinion survey (Aktér 2015, N = 926) indicate that people of high SES believe explicitly in a just world more than people of low SES. The estimated contradictions to the results of studies carried out in American context are discussed. The findings from the Czech survey may be relevant especially in the context of less socially differentiated societies. Social and collective identity of the Deaf community/ies in Prague

This work deals with the collective and social identity of the Prague deaf. It is based on the presumption that the deaf can be regarded as a social group with specific characteristics which are interesting from a sociological perspective. The aim of this work is a description and understanding of the mode the deaf relate to each other and the way the social mechanisms are used for this purpose. The crucial chapter deals with the social categorization as a key mechanism for building and maintaining the social identity of the deaf. The following part is devoted to the collective identity, where two ideal types of the deaf collective identity are presented. The work is based on the qualitative research, which was conducted through semi-structured interviews with the deaf, simultaneously translated into Czech. "Pub behavior" of college students: specific rituals of visits and selection

Topic of the bachelor's thesis is meaning of pubs as a ritual activity for crating social identity of small groups of college students visiting the pub regularly. Thesis is trying to find out rules of creating integrity of groups in pub environment as traditional social institution. Work is based on social identification theory. General inductive approach was used for analysis on data gathered by half-structured interviews with young people, largely college students, who belongs to stable groups visiting a pub. The result was the pub seen as a place universally capable of group integration. Its meaning is distinguished for two types of groups. Differences are made by different ways of creating groups and their common characteristics. Two types are distinguished based on their voluntary and unvoluntary common group characteristics. Differences of groups are also in openness, conflict vulnerability and the way of keeping group cohesion. Pub institution is described in ways important for groups, importance of social identity and how it can be seen in groups as mutual relationship of identity blending, creating their own relations with common activities, which are ritualized same as the visit of a pub.

A qualitative method of semi-structured interviews with five active users of both researched sites was used to describe the impact of the social and technological environment on the way they present themselves towards others. I therefore focus mainly on the social identity of the users: why and how they interact, how they perceive the sites and their role within their groups and how it influences their administration of their personal profiles. I also focus on other relevant subjects of within-line social communication: I describe various aspects of computer mediated communication, user perception of public and private sphere on-line and other issues such as group dynamics or users' approach to the social network(ing) sites as tools for managing their social capital. This bachelor thesis deals with the beginnings of the settlement of Bohemia by the German ethnic on the example of Southern Bohemia. This work includes an outline of the historical background which concernes Southern Bohemia and Bohemia in general. It includes an analysis of the historical sources of authors writing about these contacts and characterising these two ethnics. The next part of the bachelor thesis deals with terms like archaeological culture, culture, ethnics, social identity, Celt, German.
