Lenka Šimáková Způsoby a motivace užívání sociálních sítí Facebook a Nyx a identita jejich uživatelů: Kvalitativní komparativní studie Mediální studia, IKSŽ, FSV UK, 2012 Abstrakt Tato práce hledá spojitosti mezi motivací k užívání sociálních sítí a užíváním samotným a jaký vliv mají sociální média na sebeprezentaci uživatelů jako způsob uchopení vlastní identity. Kvalitativní metodou hloubkových polo-strukturovaných rozhovorů zkoumám pět uživatelů dvou zkoumaných sítí a hledám, jaký vliv má prostředí, technologické i sociální, na jejich vlastní sebeprezentaci (vůči ostatním). Soustředím se proto především na sociální identitu uživatelů, tedy jak a proč se projevují, jak vnímají prostředí sítě a svou roli v něm, jak je toto vnímání ovlivňuje při správě svých osobních profilů. Zaměřuji se také na další související témata, která jsou specifická právě v komunikaci on-line: kromě aspektů počítačem zprostředkované komunikace popisuji i uživatelské vnímání soukromého a veřejného prostoru, skupinovou dynamiku a užití sociálních sítí jako nástroje ke správě sociálního kapitálu. Na základě rozhovorů a jejich analýzy jsem načrtla ke každému tématu soubor hypotéz, které nacházejí nebo popisují spojitosti mezi jednotlivými oblastmi, vždy právě vzhledem ke způsobu, jakým se uživatelé na síti prezentují. A qualitative method of semi-structured interviews with five active users of both researched sites was used to describe the impact of the social and technological environment on the way they present themselves towards others. I therefore focus mainly on the social identity of the users: why and how they interact, how they perceive the sites and their role within their groups and how it influences their administration of their personal profiles. I also focus on other relevant subjects of within-line social communication: I describe various aspects of computer mediated communication, user perception of public and private sphere on-line and other issues such as group dynamics or users' approach to the social network(ing) sites as tools for managing their social capital.
