Origami as a Learning Environment in Mathematics Education
Boháčová, Jana ; Vondrová, Naďa (referee) ; Roubíček, Filip (advisor)
The thesis deals with origami as a learning environment in mathematics education. The two main aims of the thesis are to show the possibilities of using origami in various areas of mathematics teaching and learning, especially in synthetic geometry and calculations in geometry, and to suggest specific origami-based activities for secondary education. First, origami is introduced in its historical context and its geometrical axioms are described. Further, advantages and difficulties of using origami in mathematics education are discussed, with respect to the type and level of school. The fundamental part of the thesis consists of description and didactical analysis of tasks based on folding of an equilateral triangle and various polyhedra. Some of these tasks are adapted from other resources, some were designed by the author. Based on direct experience with employing origami-based tasks in different classrooms, methodological recommendations are added to the individual analyses, facilitating the practical usage of the thesis.

Identification of Terpenoid Resins in Artworks by Gas Chromatography
Jelínek, Jan ; Beneš, Pavel (referee) ; Hrdličková Kučková, Štěpánka (advisor)
Terpenoic varnishes are used in artworks since 11th century. Their task is to protect the artworks against the adverse effects of the environment and frequently they complete the artistic page. Although synthetic varnishes are currently widely used, especially in the case of modern art, the use of natural materials is still widespread and not only in the restoration of historical paintings and polychromy. In order to prepare terpenoic varnishes, rich supply of natural resins is used (damare, mastic, copals, colophony etc.). These resins differ in their composition and therefore they have various physical properties such as fragility, solubility, and not least the various darkening of varnish. For these reasons, it is necessary to know their composition, in order to be safely removed during restoration and subsequently replaced by a varnish of the same material composition. Gas chromatography is the most widely used analytical method for determination of natural resins, using a number of derivatizing reagents. The task of this thesis was to find the best separation conditions for the identification of resins by gas chromatography combined with flame ionization detector (GC-FID).

Monosubstituted 5,6-dihydro-2H-pyran-2-ones. Natural occurence, biological activity and synthetic approaches.
Bešťák, Petr ; Špulák, Marcel (advisor) ; Vávrová, Kateřina (referee)
5,6-Dihydro-2H-pyran-2-ones are naturally occurring substances, very widely distributed in the nature. Their biological activities have been known for a long time. In last few decades, along with the development of instrumental equipment and synthetic skills of modern chemistry, systematic research and structure-activity relationship's of these compounds became a challenging task. This review embraces monosubstituted pentenolides, mostly those, substituted in the 6-position. Furthermore, it reveals the possible reason for the generally exclusive natural occurrence of the 6-substituted 5,6-dihydro-2H-pyran-2-ones on the opposite to other - 3, 4 and 5-substituted analogues. This review describes most of known naturally occurring monosubstituted pentenolides, including their structure and confirmed or suspected biological activities. Synthetic approaches to pentenolides have been considered and collected.

Early intervention in the family with a early age child with special needs as a part of early childhood special pedagogic education
Šándorová, Zdenka ; Jesenský, Ján (advisor) ; Klenková, Jiřina (referee) ; Heřmanská, Danuše (referee)
This thesis has investigative and empirical character. It combines an attempt to create a theoretical system (a new subdiscipline of special pedagogy) with an attempt to gain arguments by means of empirical investigation. It begins with theoretical part which presents historical and pedagogical overview of the issue by defining reference field, target groups, tasks, basic terminology and the whole system of special pedagogy of an early age. An early age care as a theoretical subsystem included in comprehensive and integrative special pedagogy in the system of social and rehabilitation, and special pedagogical services forms a specific part of my thesis. The theoretical part has a character of metatheory because at an early age the beginnings of education, care and support are given according to the theory of comprehensive special pedagogy (Jesenský 2000) or integrative special pedagogy (Vítková 2003). By this the possibility of application into the pedagogy of individual physical and mental handicaps and the possibility of education development in other age groups are open. Discrete Surface Fairing
Matýsková, Martina ; Kostková, Jana (advisor) ; Suk, Tomáš (referee)
This thesis proposes a new method for fairing of surfaces, which are represented by a triangulated mesh. Motivation for our task is a 3D reconstruction, which results in a triangulated mesh. Such mesh is typically corrupted by noise (due to data and processing inaccuracy), which is required to be faired out. We solve the problem on a discrete surface, where two criteria for optimization are defined: surface curvature and non-uniformity. The curvature deals with surface smoothness, while the non-uniformity with surface regularity. The problem of fairing is solved by a discrete diffusion. Since our aim is to fair surfaces with boundaries, first we describe the fairing of curves, then fairing of closed urfaces, and finally fairing of surfaces with boundary (which is in fact a combination of the former ones). We have tested the algorithm's performance on synthetic as well as real data with good results. The experiments showed that our proposed algorithm is robust, stable and does not shrink an object, while its main surface characteristics are preserved.

Automatization of the digitization workflow of the National Library of Technology
Řihák, Jakub ; Kosek, Jiří (advisor) ; Římanová, Radka (referee)
This diploma thesis is focused on the automatization of digitization workflow in the National Library of Technology, Prague, Czech Republic. This thesis examines possibilities of digitization processes automatization by means of scripts written in Perl programming language and Apache Ant build tool. The advantages and disadvantages of both solutions are analyzed as well as their suitability for automatization of digitization workflow. Based on the comparison of both solutions, the scripts in Perl programming language are selected as the most suitable solution for automatization of digitization workflow. The question whether Ant build tool could be used for the purpose of automatization of digitization workflow is also answered in this thesis. The Ant build tool could be used for the above-mentioned purpose. However, once the activities in the given process divert from the general scope of tasks provided by the Ant build tool, the complexity of the whole solution increases rapidly. This complexity is given by the necessity to use predefined tasks -- sets of functions which have to be combined to create a functional automatization script. Even though Ant is an extendable tool, it is necessary to understand the Java programming language in order to create a new Ant task successfully. On the other hand, the Perl programming language allows easier customization of the script for the purposes of automatization of digitization workflow. Also, the modularity of the Perl programming language makes it easier to create those scripts and modify, correct or develop them even further.
