The expressionistic imagining of the world in the work of Bohuslav Reynek
Dosoudilová, Anna ; Vojvodík, Josef (advisor) ; Wiendl, Jan (referee)
The aim of the work is to reconstruct the image of the world /as it is presented /presented by Reynek's early works and observe whether and in which aspects it is influenced by expressionism. The thesis is based on the/ an analysis of themes that appear in three early volumes of poems usually tagged as expressionistic. Titles of these three volumes are Rybí šupiny, Had na sněhu and Rty a zuby. While analyzing them, the work concentrates on themes that refer to affinity with expressionism. Therefore, themes of disintegration, fragmentation, destruction of the world are concerned as well as apocalyptical vision, feelings of vanity and debt and looking for the true essence of the world. In addition, motives of sin, evil and death are listed. The second part of the thesis is focused on aspects of graphic art in Reynek's early poems, of which the function of colours and ornamentalization is discussed the most.

Analysis of the 1st Act of Ballet Giselle
Rafajová, Zuzana ; KAZÁROVÁ, Helena (advisor) ; POLLERTOVÁ, Adéla (referee)
This master thesis deals with analysis of the first act of ballet Giselle. It is focused on the dramaturgy, dramatic actions and psychology of the characters. It compares different images of the first act from these sources: original libretto by Théophile Gautier and Jules-Henri Vernoy de Saint-Georges, notes by russian ballet master Antoine Titus, manuscript of Henri Justamant, libretto by Rostislav Zakharov, simplified choreographic script written by Cyril Beaumont and Leonid Lavrovsky's choreography written down by Natalia Konius. Attention is particularly focused on Justamant's manuscript and Konius's written record.

Detection of Backscattered Electrons in Low Voltage Scanning Electron Microscopy
Wandrol, Petr
This paper deals with the problems of backscattered electrons (BSE) detection in low voltage scanning electron microscopy (LV SEM). The BSE energy is 3 keV and less in LV SEM. This low BSE energy causes problems with the acquisition of sufficient signal for the image. It is necessary to accelerate BSE and separate SE to obtain applicable specimen image.

Outer factors influencing image creation of the USSR in Czechoslovakia between World Wars
Lomíček, Jan ; Jančík, Drahomír (referee) ; Štaif, Jiří (advisor)
There were several outer aspects influencing the image of Soviet Russia in Czechoslovakia between World Wars. On the one hand it was Soviet propaganda using all possible means at that time to create abroad a positive image of SSSR. On the other hand, there were various control mechanisms and institutions monitoring foreigners in the Soviet territory. It was VOKS (The All- Union Society for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries ) and the Soviet state travel agency Intourist, to name the most significant of them. The amount of places the visitors were able to visit was limited, just as the available information and that is why the reality shown in their literary works was distorted. The writers who tried to present an objective description of the situation in the Soviet Union were often dependent on theoretical information without the possibility to verify their theories in practice. A significant number of leftwing intelectuals considered the dictatorship of the proletariat to be a political vanguard. They sticked to these beliefs because they did not have any opportunity to discover the real consequences of Bolshevik government on the people in the Soviet Union.

The Czech translations of Rilke's "Sonette an Orpheus"
Otterová, Michaela ; Tvrdík, Milan (referee) ; Stromšík, Jiří (advisor)
Since the personalities of the translators and their methods are so different, it is difficult to compare the six translations of poems by Rilke. Nevertheless common characteristics can be found. First of all, everyone keeps the original form of the sonnet. This statement seems less trivial when we think of the French translation praxis, where transformation of poetry to prose is a standard. We might also think of Jakub Deml, who (due to lack of time) poeticized a small choice from the Book of Images in prose. The fact that Czech translators usually stick to the original poetic form attests both the high level of the tradition of translation in this country and the creative ambition of Czech mediators. On the other hand we can observe a certain indifference towards the Rilke-scholarship among the six translators. It could be proved that Renč knew the monograph on Rilke by Holthusen, it however didn't have any impact on his translation. This kind of deficiency is even more obvious in Pokorný, who suggest the interpretative approach, yet doesn't know the myth of Orpheus in detail. Vítek is aware of the "intellectual anatomy" of the collection of poems, but he doesn't make any use of this knowledge. Another token of the ignorance of the original texts that the translators have in common is the transformation...

Navigation of mobile robots
Rozman, Jaroslav ; Matoušek,, Václav (referee) ; Šolc, František (referee) ; Zbořil, František (advisor)
Mobile robotics has been very discussed and wide spread topic recently.   This due to the development in the computer technology that allows us to create   better and more sophisticated robots. The goal of this effort is to create robots   that will be able to autonomously move in the chosen environment. To achieve this goal,   it is necessary for the robot to create the map of its environment, where   the motion planning will occur. Nowadays, the probabilistic algorithms based   on the SLAM algorithm are considered standard in the mapping in these times.   This Phd. thesis deals with the proposal of the motion planning of the robot with   stereocamera placed on the pan-and-tilt unit. The motion planning is designed with   regard to the use of algorithms, which will look for the significant features   in the pair of the images. With the use of the triangulation the map, or a model will be created.     The benefits of this work can be divided into three parts. In the first one the way   of marking the free area, where the robot will plan its motion, is described. The second part   describes the motion planning of the robot in this free area. It takes into account   the properties of the SLAM algorithm and it tries to plan the exploration in order to create   the most precise map. The motion of the pan-and-tilt unit is described in the third part.   It takes advantage of the fact that the robot can observe places that are in the different   directions than the robot moves. This allows us to observe much bigger space without   losing the information about the precision of the movements.

Sharing Local Information for Faster Scanning-Window Object Detection
První z nich, Early non-Maxima Suppression , přesunuje rozhodování o potlačení nemaximálních pozic ze závěrečné fáze do fáze vyhodnocování detektoru, čímž zamezuje zbytečným výpočtům detektoru v nemaximálních pozicích.

Nippon re-discovered. The image of Japan in central European modernism 1920-1940
Čapková, Helena ; Švácha, Rostislav (referee) ; Lahoda, Vojtěch (advisor)
Japanese influence on Europe was particularly strong in the period of japonism, which is widely pinned down and limited to the second half of 19th century. However, this Japanese vogue transformed into a sophisticated knowledge and admiration for Japanese art, philosophy and everyday life by the interwar period. This transformation happened within a framework of international modernity and is a subject of this text. What is the Japanese element in modernism that alludes its latent japaneseness? I argue that it is a symptom of Japanese aesthetics that deeply rooted into common consciousness by the time between the wars. The geographic focus of this paper is on Central Europe and Japan. Japanese art scene has been an active participant of international art debates since the beginning of 20th century. This dynamic situation in Japan played a crucial role in seeking the history and unique face of modernism. Many prominent artists took part in this process including the ones for Central Europe. Therefore, few case studies will be included, such as on Johannes Itten, Bedřich Feuerstein and Bruno Taut.
