Theory and Practice of Evaluation Research in theCzech Republic
Remr, Jiří ; Jeřábek, Hynek (advisor) ; Hendl, Jan (referee) ; Winkler, Jiří (referee)
The main focus of presented thesis is the in-depth analysis of major patterns of how the evaluation methodology is applied within the Czech society environment. The starting point is identification of key processes and activities that distinguish evaluation from other activities and disciplines. Based on comparative analysis among evaluation, primary research, monitoring and auditing the crucial features are defined and further supplemented by other characteristics of the procedural nature. The whole series of researches focus on the extent in which the evaluation methods, techniques and procedures are applied in everyday practice. In this respect, there were identified three different and uncorrelated branches that serve as application environment for routine deployment of evaluation inquiries. Following secondary goals of our thesis, each of the branches represent different example of how the evaluation could be applied/implemented. Desk-research informs about actual patterns of how the evaluation is performed by external evaluators who work for Managing Authorities of EU Operational Programs, it also shows how internally based self-evaluation is performed and last but not least, how the hybrid evaluation based on expert judgment principles could be utilized for evaluation of bachelor thesis. Rock Fan as a Recipient of Marketing Communication
Palounek, Martin ; Riedlbauch, Václav (advisor) ; Stříteský, Václav (referee)
This thesis is primarily focused on collecting insights regarding rock music fan that can be applied to marketing communication. Its main aim is to describe how the rock fans are different from the major population in terms of descriptive characteristics, values, opinions and lifestyle. The points of parity and the points of difference are investigated on the level of rock sub-genres. The message, symbolism and main ideas present in rock music are examined, including historical and social context leading to the formation and development of the genre. We also tried to assign a specific archetype to rock and its sub-genres. We assume that rock fans are in some ways different from the rest of the population and that we are able to observe the differences on the level of sub-genres. However, we also expect that there are some points of parity symptomatic for all the rock genres. We suppose that artists and music marketers approach marketing communication mostly from the point of their own intuition and that they frequently use symbolism, historical references and archetypes in their way of communication. The research is comprised of three parts. First part is the analysis of secondary data from MML-TGI database by Median Research Company for year 2013. Used methodology: General analysis and cross analysis. The objective of the analysis was to determine differences between genres and subgenres in terms of descriptive characteristics, value system and verdicts about lifestyle. The next part of the research was the content analysis of notable rock album front covers for the purpose of deeper exploration of rock symbols. The last part of the research is comprised of interviews with music industry professionals who shared their opinion regarding genre characteristics, fans and marketing communication in real life.

Analysis of the Labour Market in the Central-Bohemian Region
Stará, Šárka ; Adámek, Petr (advisor) ; Dobrylovský, Jiří (referee)
As the title of my diploma thesis already suggests, the thesis deals with the analysis of the labour market in the largest of all Czech regions. The situation in the Central-Bohemian labour market may be considered stable and the unemployment rate in this region has ranked among the lowest in the whole country for a long period of time, but due to the size of the region broad district differences may be observed. This thesis seeks to evaluate and summarise the evolution of the Central-Bohemian labour market (mainly in the past decade) and to highlight the main factors causing the differences mentioned above. The thesis also deals with the impact of economic recession on the labour market in the Central Bohemia and on the number of employees of major employers in the region. Last but not least I try to suggest several ways to reduce unemployment and evaluate the measures that have already been taken by the government organizations in my thesis. The first part of the document discusses theoretical aspects of the labour market functioning, measuring of unemployment and explains related terms.

Major changes are not only presented, but also partially evaluated. Also many legislative deficiencies, new (and wrong) formulations in the legislation and other factors which should not appear in the legislation are pointed out. Evaluated are also relevant temporary provisions and also the impact of new legislation on limited liability companies founded pursuant to the Commercial Code.

This bachelor thesis examines the importance of the railway line Beroun -- Plzeň for basic transport services in surrounding municipalities of Beroun, Rokycany and Plzeň-City Districts. It aims to prove, by relevant economic, time and capacity indicators, the importance of this key transport line for residents of catchment centers and for their commuting in major centers. The sources of knowledge in the theoretical part are followed by their specific application in the practical. Character of region and railway track is described in detail in this thesis. There are described all the settlements on this track including its administrative structure, population and most important direction of commuting. Highlighted are the four main centers of the region along the track -- Beroun, Hořovice, Rokycany and Pilsen. Analyzed are the costs of commuting from selected communities in these centers in the form of rail or bus fares or in the form of the cost of private car transport. These costs are examined for single-commuting and regular commuting (monthly). The density of traffic on the track is described by intervals of trains and their timetable during the day and within days a week. Distinguished are the passenger trains and express trains. Besides to price costs of travel is also analyzed the time of transport modes. Attention is also paid to the integrated transport systems in the region - namely, Integrated Transport of the Central Bohemian Region and Pilsen integrated transport. Analyzed data are found out from tariff terms of individual carriers (price condition), of cartographic material (distance) from the databases of the Czech Statistical Office (population) and internet resources devoted to the issue of passenger rail transport (Train and capacity).

BCRP in the placenta - expression, lokalization, function
Šobáňová, Ivana ; Štaud, František (advisor) ; Nachtigal, Petr (referee)
Breast cancer resistance protein (BCRP, ABCG2, ABCP, MXR) is the 72 kDa multidrug resistance protein belonging to the family of ABC transporters. This efflux transporter is able to distinguish and actively extrude a wide variety of chemically and structurally unrelated compounds out of cells. BCRP is most expresse in the majority of human tissues, most abundantly it is expressed in the apical membrane of placental syncytiotrophoblasts. This localization predetermines BCRP to play an important role in protecting the fetus by limiting the penetration of various xenobiotics across the placental barrier. Because of the need to treat some diseases even during pregnancy the knowledge of transplacental pharmacokinetics becomes necessary for evaluation of potential toxicity and therapeutic value of the drugs in pregnancy. The aim of this work is to summarize the current knowledge concerning the expression, localization, polymorphism and function of BCRP transporter in placenta and also the role of BCRP in pharmacotherapy in pregnancy.

Poruba Mbrs, Ostrava Formation ( Namurian A, Arnsberg ) in the Czech part of the Upper Silesian Basin
Horák, J. ; Martinec, Petr ; Hoch, I.
In the Czech part of the Upper Silesian basin, full preservation of the Poruba Mbrs of Ostrava Fm, i.e., retention of their full thickness, can be observed only in the eastern and southern zones of the basin, while no more than relics exposed by denudation remain in the western and central zones. The Poruba Mbrs (Namurian A, Arnsbergian, E2b) were deposited on the outskirts of Ostrava Fm (Namurian A, Pendleian-Arnsbergian) on a flat coastal plain, interspersed with infrequent but regularly spaced marine transgressions. Individual sedimentary sections—mezocycles—are well-defined (within the meaning of the concept put forward by ČEPEK & HAVLENA 1975). Their sedimentary development reflecting the climate changes during the Carboniferous period have been described. Five complete mezocycles were identified (named Koks, Konrad, Lotar, Otakar, and Gaebler after major marine horizons), plus an incomplete one (Filip, constituted by only the upper continental portion of the mezocycle), inasmuch as the marine part (a group of faunistic horizons of Barbora) is presently ascribed to Jaklovec Mbr.
