Teachers: burnout syndrom versus engagement and professional enthusiasm

The thesis is dealing with the problematics of burnout syndrome and engagement in teaching profession in different types of schools and grades. Its objective is to detect the degree of burnout in a selected sample of teachers and map the main determinants of contentment related to engaged teachers. The theoretical part defines the concept of burnout syndrome, its development, progress, signs, causes and diagnostics. It clarifies the development of burnout in teaching profession. Furthermore, it describes the key characteristics of engagement, the diagnostic methods and the relationship between teaching and engagement. The empiric part has two goals: to find out the degree of burnout in teachers and depict the essential factors which contribute to their engagement. The research was based on questionnaires and interviews and answered the research questions. The results are presented in tables and graphs. In conclusion, there are some suggestions how to lower the risk of genesis and growth of burnout syndrome. Initial Education Of Early Years Teachers And The Profession's Needs

The thesis deals with undergraduate training of kindergarten teachers. The aim is to compare the issue of preparation for the profession of kindergarten teacher from different perspectives in historical and international comparisons and reflect and analyze the needs of the profession towards initial training kindergarten teachers on the basis of theoretical concepts and statements from practice. The reaserch aims to analyze the curriculum of initial training kindergarten teachers at selected faculties of education in the Czech Republic, analyze and reflect on meeting the needs of the profession in these faculties and learn how to evaluate their students' level of development of their professional competence at the beginning of undergraduate training and at the end. Research design is a multi-case study. Working with reaserch respondents has a longitudinal character. Methods were used quantitative and qualitative methodology - questionnaire, rating scales, content analysis of documents, interview and focus group. Problems of novice teachers

The diploma thesis with the title Problems of beginning teachers. This deals with the issues of beginning teachers during their first years of practice and it also points out the existing forms of support which are available to young teachers in their first years. The theoretical part describes who can be considered a beginning teacher and the preparations of beginning teachers in Czech Republic and abroad. It defines key pedagogical and professional competence problems that new teachers experience at the start of their career. It offers solutions on how to deal with common issues and it also points out the forms of support which is available. The empirical part analyses specific problems which can appear at the start of their careers. Methods used for this analysis consisted of a questionnaire of 70 new teachers and the interview of 2 new teachers from the same primary school. The objective of this method is to find out the problems facing new teachers which appear in the first 3 years of their practice and to see if these issues were the same as the concerns that they had before they started teaching. Personality of a Teacher in Students' Perception

The Master thesis with the name "Personality of a Teacher in Students' Perception" is divided into two parts - a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part is divided into four chapters. The first chapter focuses on the personality of a teacher. It describes some typologies of a teacher's personality, individual stages of the teaching profession and selected factors influencing the teacher's personality. The second chapter describes the role of a teacher, the content of his work, and the occupational load which is connected to the teaching profession. Further, it addresses teachers dealing with the burnout syndrome. The third chapter briefly presents the topic of pedagogical communication and the Pygmalion effect. The fourth chapter examines the student - teacher relationship. Motivation in Teaching Profession

1 Abstract This diploma thesis deals with motivation in teaching profession. It is devided into two parts. The teoratical part summarizes issues and motivation of teaching profession. The aim of the empirical part is research analysis focused on the view of the respondents' issues, their experiences and opinions. The results show that due to the respondents there are a lot of unsatisfactory factors, which are not long-term resolvable while these respondents speak about positive factors just sporadically. It is understood for them that some teachers were left the teaching profession.
Subjective well-being and job satisfaction of teachers in secondary schools

The theoretical part of this thesis will define the concept of life and job satisfaction, as well as factors affecting life satisfaction and it´s measurement methods. In relation to life satisfaction, thesis will also investigate issues of personality and the teaching profession. The practical part will be focused on the degree of life and job satisfaction of selected sample of second grade elementary school´s teachers, but not only the overall level of life satisfaction, but also the satisfaction of teachers in various areas of life. Linkage between different areas of life and overall life satisfaction will be also examined in this thesis. The relationship of these two phenomena to demographic data and finally the relationship between life satisfaction and personality factors.
Emotional intelligence of teachers

This bachelor thesis deals with the emotional intelligence of teachers. The aim of this work is how teachers perceive their competencies in the field of emotional intelligence. The theoretical part consists of three chapters which are devoted to emotional intelligence, helping and teaching professions and teacher's personality. The practical part is based on in-depth interviews and model situations solution. The research group consist of five elementary school teachers (three women and two men) and five elementary practical school teachers (also three women and two men) aged from 33 to 61 years, while the length of their practice is between 7 to 36 years. The data were analysed and classified into (After the data analysis were make) categories which are subsequently interpreted.
The Ideal Kindergarten Teacher from parents´ Perspective.

The thesis, on the subject of "The ideal nursery-school teacher in the eyes of parents", surveys the perspective of parents of children attending nursery school and investigates their point of view as to what the perfect nursery-school teacher should be like, while taking into consideration the gender of the respondents. The author focuses primarily on the theoretical specification of the nursery-school teacher's personality and professional competence, differentiation of teacher typology, education styles, the concept of authority and the related work agenda and demands connected with practising this profession. She also outlines the scientific discipline of pedeutology and existing research. In the practical section, a quantitative research investigation is made by way of questionnaire. The questionnaire is anonymous so as to protect the anonymity of the respondents. The research sample comprises the parents of children attending nursery school in the town of Písek. The responses reflect the respondents' opinions with respect to their idea of the perfect nursery-school teacher, and will be compared with hypotheses and then analysed. The thesis aims to ascertain the respondents' majority view as to the nursery-teacher ideal, the characteristics they most often want/prefer, the type of teacher (according to the typology in the theoretical section of the thesis) to which these characteristics best correspond, and whether or how ideas about the perfect nursery-school teacher vary.
