Gender specifics of social support

Bachelor thesis summarizes the gender aspects of social support. It deals with the differences in the quantity and quality of provided and received social support for men and women. The thesis especially focuses on the situation of men in receiving and providing of social support and mentions a possible connection with the upbringing in the Czech Republic. The main part of the work, the theoretical part, first characterizes two main pillars of the thesis: gender and social support. Then it focuses on the comparison of men's and women's social support. The following part deals with the development of the research proposal that focuses on social support of men. It deals with the question if men in searching of social support have recourse more often to women or men.
Self-efficacy and burnout syndrome among teachers in primary schools

Annotation: Teching is a profession burdened with high working stress that can in long term lead burnout syndrome. However, not all teachers suffer from burnout. They can be protected by factors as is for example teacher self-efficacy or social support. This bachelor theses is concerned with burnout syndrome among primary school teachers and also with the relationship between this phenomenon, teacher self-efficacy and social support. Theoretical part concludes theoretical ground according to authorities in the field and findings from previous research. The purpose of the empirical part is to develop an instrument for measuring teacher self-efficacy and to explore the relationship between burnout syndrome, teacher self-efficacy and social support. A questionnaire consisting of five parts was used: anamnestic part, Shirom-Melamed Burnout Measure, teacher self-efficacy questionnaire, SVF 78 and ESSI. Negative correlation was found between burnout, teacher self-efficacy and social support. No differences were found between women and men. Differences in teacher self-efficacy and social support were found between teachers with high burnout scores and teachers with low burnout scores. Social support in senior age

This bachelor's thesis is dealing with problematic of social support and it's specifics in older age. I will write about terminology, sources of social support and their positive and negative effects. Also I will explain different types of social support and ways how can we determine it. Special attention will be focused on the seniors in institutional care in Czech republic. In the end of the thesis there will be designed a research for monitoring a social support and quality of life at this senior group.
An experience of well-being, self-esteem, hardiness and a social support of adolescents and young adults with an idiopathic scoliosis

The rigorous thesis deals with an experience of well-being, self-esteem, hardiness and a social support of adolescents and young adults with an idiopathic scoliosis. The text is split into a theoretical and a practial part systematicaly. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with definition of terms: scoliosis, well-being, self-esteem, hardiness and a social support. We report also an overview of czech and foreign researches related to a perception of quality of life by specific groups of individuals suffered by a chronic diseases, adolescents and young adults. The empirical part of the thesis has four main parts. It brings data collected from a survey, deals with data analyzes and their interpretation. A reasearch sample of 77 people diagnosed as an adolescent idiopathic scoliosis is compared according to the degree of disability, undergoing spinal surgery, according to the age and compared to the healty population. Lifestyle diseases, their causes and prevention.

My bachelor thesis dealt with the issues of lifestyle diseases. The objective of this work was to use a questionnaire survey to find out whether and how the people are informed about these diseases. If they know causes related to them and how they try to prevent from them. I also was wondering whether the people on the basis of their age and their maximal attained educational are differently informed about these diseases. Aims of this work were completed fulfilled and the results showed that the respondents who were used in my questionnaire are sufficiently informed about these diseases and their prevention which they predominantly respect. As emerged from the work it would be appropriate to ensure that the society continues to be well - informed about these diseases. I personally would wish that people of all ages to regularly and consciously pay primarily attention to precautions of a healthy lifestyle which is the basis of prevention of lifestyle diseases.
Benefits of resilience and social support in mentoring relations with school children

This diploma thesis is concerned with medium-term benefits of peer mentorng programs from the point of resilience and social support to the care recipients- children and adolescents from risk environment or with risk factors influenced. Data of this study comes from International peer mentoring survey Big Brothers Big Sisters- Pět P in Czech republic. The study is important for its in-depth and longitudinal (1 year) survey of 7 mentoring couples. Thesis is secondary analysis of mentioned study and is interessed in concepts of resilience and social support in context of mentoring community intervences. The role of family background in preventing burnout syndrome

This diploma thesis deals with significant factors of burnout prevention and burnout causes out of the perspective of a person that is in danger of burnout and out of the perspective of one's surroundings. The aim of this thesis is to describe the influence of family background as a key component of one's social support. The thesis deals specifically with function of original and newly set family in burnout prevention and finds different aspects that can be crucial for prevention of burnout. The core of empirical part of this thesis is research on the influence of a family on burnout syndrome and description of this possible influence.
