Multidisciplinary rehabilitation for pubescents patients with cerebral palsy
Buzková, Tereza ; Nývltová, Lucie (advisor) ; Zounková, Irena (referee)
Cerebral palsy is a non-progressive motor funciton development disorder which is caused by disruption of the immature brain. There is about 16 000 - 20 000 patients living in the Czech Republic with this diagnosis to date. Based on the clinical picture, specific forms of this disorder can be classified. Besides the motor funciton development disorder, the patients also suffer from other comorbidities (such as epilepsy, oropharyngeal dysphagia, sensory deficits etc.). Early diagnosis of this disorder is crucial. The severity of the motor function deficit is evaluated by monitoring the gross and fine motor function. Cerebral palsy is a non-progressive, not unchanging, disorder. The theoretic part of the thesis describes secondary issues which are present during pubescent period of the patients. They are dealing with growth disorders, reduced bone density and increased bone fragility. Plenty of risk factors precede these problems. Also, question of sexuality, life priorities and about future play a big role for the patients in their pubescent period. There are possibilities to solve these problems in terms of complex rehabilitation care. Especially in physiotherapy, occupational therapy and nutritional therapy. The practical part of the thesis is an example of an intensive rehabilitation care of a...
Intimate norms of beauty by women. Depilation and modification of body hair on the example of Czech women.
Greňová, Martina ; Korecká, Zuzana (advisor) ; Štěpánová, Irena (referee)
Martina Greňová: Ženské intimní normy krásy. Depilace a úprava tělesného porostu na příkladu českých žen. FF UK 2011 The author searches for reasons for the body hair removal and its modifications. As the base she uses an analyse of the media and literature and her research among Czech women. The paper emanates, that certain subjects try to define norms of body hair removal. These norms are presented in medical and cosmetical literature, in magazines, internet articles, films, adverts, in the language and in the folklore. Accordingly the normative subjects are doctores, cosmeticians, editors and authors of magazines, participants of internet discussions, film makers and producers of cosmetic products. Nevertheles women participate on the creation of norms too. The author postulates some attitudes, how the hair removal is perceived and presented: as hygienical and medical, as dichotomy of human and animal (nature vs. culture), as dichotomy of feminity and masculinity, as an attribute of maturity, as an esthetic aspect. Most of the women remove hair from their bodies. Young women "shave" more , but the difference between the generations is not that big. Yet a vast difference exists between the age of todays teenagers when they started removing (on an averge of 12 years) and the older generations (at 24 years)...
Pupils' Attitudes Toward Natural Science Lessons
Mastíková, Lucie ; Hlaváčová, Lucie (advisor) ; Jedličková, Tereza (referee)
This diploma thesis aims to find out satisfaction of lower secondary school pupils with science lessons, science classroom equipment, environment and topics in science that are missed by the pupils. Their requests regarding improvement and variegation of science education are also determined, which could contribute to increasing their motivation and interest in science. This diploma thesis maps, which topics of science or tools are mostly lacked by pupils. Their opinions are determined using questionnaires, which were filled by 221 pupils of Elementary school in Uhlířské Janovice in Central Bohemian Region. The results show that pupils would like to include more field work, science outings, excursions, group work, laboratory work, science documentaries, work with a microscope and they would also like to include some real animals. Some of the respondents wouldn't change anything regarding the science lessons. With respect to the results of the research, a daylong project with environmental studies, field work, collection of natural products and their processing was suggested for the particular elementary school.
Distance education of students with hearing impairment at the second grade of Primary School for the hearing impaired students
Vaněčková, Barbora ; Kotvová, Miroslava (advisor) ; Hádková, Kateřina (referee)
The theoretical part of the presented work focuses on the description of the characteristics of a secondary school pupil, hearing impairment and possibilities of education of pupils with hearing impairment in the Czech Republic. Finally, it touches on the issue of distance education, a theme that has currently been very topical. The aim of the practical part of the work was to describe the course of distance education of pupils with hearing impairment in the secondary school for the hearing-impaired during the closure of schools in the academic year 2020/2021. For the purposes of the work, three Czech secondary schools for the hearing-impaired were selected. To achieve the research goal, a qualitative research design was used. Eleven teachers from the selected schools were interviewed. The interviews were then analyzed by open coding. The results of the research showed that from the teachers' point of view, distance learning appears to be demanding, ineffective, and has a number of negative effects on students with hearing impairment such as social separation from the Deaf community they identify with at school. The Influence of age, gender and movement activity on the reaction abilities of lower limbs by pubescents
Brychta, Petr ; Heller, Jan (advisor) ; Havel, Zdeněk (referee) ; Harsa, Pavel (referee)
Title: The influence of age, gender and movement activity on the reaction abilities of lower limbs. Objectives: The main objective of this dissertation was to find the reaction abilities of pubescent's (aged 10 - 15years) lower limbs on the basis of age, gender and movement activity. The further aim was to determine the pubescence period (age) when the most noticeable decrease of the visual disjunctive motor response time of lower limbs occurs. Methods: 214 boys and girls aged 10-15 years (157.8 ± 10.8 cm; 47.2 ± 10.7 kg) participated in this research. Simple, choice and disjunctive reaction time of lower limbs was measured through the Fitro Agility Check test. The results processing, including statistical procedures, was carried out using the Matlab (MathWorks, Inc.) programming environment, an IBM SPSS Statistics 22. Three-way ANOVA and Tukey post-hoc tests (α=0.05) were used to determine the individual parameters connection. Results: With increasing age, year over year, we found important differences and reaction time decreases of all types of reaction speeds. Testing brings to light the fact that the most noticeable decrease of both selection and disjunctive reaction time of lower limbs are between groups of 11 year olds (11.00-11.99) and 12 year olds (12.00-12.99). The most noticeable decrease...

Title: Influencing the level of musical-movements abilities with a new programme of musical-movement education in girls on the secondary school. Objectives: The aim of the work is to verify how the newly created programme of musical- movement education affects the level of selected musical and locomotory abilities of the pupils groups, aged 12-16 years. The partial goal is to assemble the intervention program of the modernized musical-movement education, fulfilling the current needs of girls of the given age and to create methodological materials for his teaching. Methods: To verify the level of musical-movements skills, all groups used a battery of musically-movements tests: rhythmic adaptability test, rhythmic perception test, dynamic equilibrium test, collective movement creativity test (Brtníková, 2009) and distinguishing the pitch of tone in the Bentley's test. For data analysis, the following tests were used: Shapiro-Wilk's test, Levene's test, Wilcoxon test, paired T-Test, Mann-Whitney U-Test. Intergroup differences were evaluated by the single-way and two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) in the statistical program R. Statistical relevancy and effect size has been done in the STATISTICA programme. Graphical representation through the boxplot and Q- Q chart. Results: The measured results of...
Well - being of children and teenagers from institutional care
Rubešová, Kateřina ; Novotná, Hana (advisor) ; Presslerová, Pavla (referee)
This thesis deals with the specifics of subjectively perceived well-being of early and mid adolescents (11 - 15 years) who are curretly living in Czech foster homes. The theoretical part focuses on various concepts of well-being, current institutional care situation in the Czech Republic, its benefits and risks, the developmental period of early and mid adolescence with its outstanding characteristics. In addition, the newest studies related to the topic are covered. The practical part includes mixed approaches (both quantitative and qualitative) through the KIDSCREEN- 52 questionnaire and suplemental anamnestic questionnaire. In total 53 children from 8 different foster homes filled out both questionnaires. The research results show, that life satisfaction of children in institutional care is in three domains (moods and emotions, school environment, social acceptance and bullying) lower in comparison with children who are living with their families. No significant differences were found in the remaining seven domains. Children from foster homes are satisfied with both biological parents and professional carers. They tend to idealise...
