Supervision of Workers in Social Services on the Field of One-to-one Assistance in Organization Hewer for Center of Prague 2

Thesis called "Supervision of workers in social services on the field of one-to-one assistance following on standards for quality of social services in organization Hewer for center of Prague 2" puts a target to find out, how workers in social services of the Hewer organization for center of Prague 2 perceive supervision, if they consider it as a possibility of increasing their proficiency, and if this possibility is fully used by them, if they are conscious of it and know about its existence. At the beginning of the thesis, there is introduced background information which led to choosing this topic. It the treatise of this thesis, there is described, what is a supervision, who is a supervisor and types of supervision too. Next part describes social services, where the one-to-one assistance is introduced to deeper details. Further, there are standards for quality of social services and a description of supervision from the point of view of "The Guide for providers of social services ". Then, the thesis provides information about the Hewer organization. The practical part of the thesis deals with survey. An evaluation of the target is a part of the conclusion.
Experience course for improvement in communication of youth with mentally handicapped

This bachelor thesis addresses the opportunities for social communication development for mental handicapped youths who use the personal assistance social service. The means used for communication development are practical experience courses. A questionnaire was sued for research purposes which proves that personal assistance is used by clients mainly in a school environment and for escorts. Despite this fact, demand for practical experience courses from assistants is considerable. Almost all of them consider them to be an opportunity for their client to get to know their client better, thereby improving the quality of the social service provided. Other research focused on comparison of individual plans for the users of the personal assistance social service. This research confirmed the importance of the work of personal assistants who have a demonstrable influence on the development of communication and socialisation of people with a mental handicap. Controlled interviews with clients demonstrated that the common intense experiences enjoyed during the practical experience course, converted into life experience, can have a positive influence on the relationship between the assistant and client. The content of this bachelor thesis is determining of actual need of assistance for people with Cerebral Palsy and finding an answer this question: "Which is the acquisition of personal assistant for people with Cerebral Palsy?". The methodic accession contains these particular methods: theoretical study of professional literature, questionnaire research among clients and personal assistants, observation and interview. The result of practical research is detection that the personal assistants are beneficial especially in the sphere of independent living, beneficial for families, like a respite service, and like a friend for people with Cerebral Palsy.
Spiritual Needs in People with Cerebral Palsy and Their Saturation in Social Care

Master's thesis called Spiritual needs in people with cerebral palsy and their saturation in social care focuses on expressing spirituality in people with cerebral palsy (CP) and studies what the spiritual needs may be and if personal care assistants (PCAs) can help to fulfil clients' spiritual needs. The theoretical part shows the issues of CP and the view to people with this disability, with the emphasis to the options of their participation for life in society. It deals with the topic of spirituality and spiritual dimension as one of many dimensions of human personality. After presenting several important theories of needs it continuous with the role of PCAs and their role in fulfilling the clients' spiritual needs. The practical part proceeds from the combination of quantitative and qualitative research; from a questionnaire inquiring the expressiveness of the spirituality and its sharing with PCAs, and interviews seven people with CP inquiring their spiritual needs and possibilities of their fulfilling by PCAs. The results show concrete and stronger spirituality expressing in people with CP than in major population and that the spiritual needs come out from their live situation. Bakalářská práce se zabývá integrací žáků se speciálními potřebami a přizpůsobením školní výuky. Zdůrazňuji profesi asistenta pedagoga, která by bez integrace těchto žáků do běžných škol nikdy nevznikla a profesi osobního asistenta, kteří také působí na základní škole, ale nejsou však pedagogickým personálem. Práce poukazuje na klady a zápory, které přináší profese pomáhajícího. Jaké nebezpečí mohou zaměstnance postihnout, jaké jsou práva a povinnosti asistenta pedagoga a zároveň jasně vyjadřuje rozdíly mezi osobním asistentem a asistentem pedagoga. Do jakého rezortu patří, jak jsou finančně ohodnoceny, jaká kvalifikace musí být pro danou profesi. K danému tématu není dostatek literatury a studií. Práce proto vychází z různých zdrojů a názorů pracovníků.
