Conception of Sex Education in School Educational Programmes of Selected Elementary Schools and Grammar Schools

For children and adolescents, sex education is a topic important for personal development and future life. Given the nature of the subject, views of the problematics of sex education vary both between and among students and teachers. The goal of this thesis is to analyze educational programmes of elementary and secondary high schools with a focus on sex education-related topics and analysis of natural history and biology textbooks in the context of sex education. This thesis also explores the relationship of students and teachers to this problematics via the use of questionnaires. Analysis of school education programmes revealed differences in inclusion of sex education-related topics in specific school subjects and in teaching time allocated to these subjects. All analyzed human anatomy-depicting 8th grade natural history textbooks include sex education-related topics. Results from questionnaires showed that children recieve sex education-related knowledge primarily from friends and school, despite the fact that majority of them is not comfortable discussing this topic with teachers.
Education about menstruation at the lower secondary schools by external subjects

The master diploma thesis concentrates on the issue of education about menstruation at lower secondary schools. Through qualitative interviews with external subjects who run workshops or lectures related to the topic of menstruation at schools, I have mapped the ways of teaching about this phenomenon. The primary objective of my work is to inform about the topics that are directly connected to the education about menstruation. Last but not least, I believe my work goes beyond the physical education and into the sociocultural area and seeks to destigmatize the natural physical process that menstruation is.
Teaching options of sexual education and reproductive health at elementary schools

TITLE Possibilities of teaching sex education and reproductive health at selected elementary schools AUTHOR Bc. Tereza Drbohlavová SUPERVISOR PhDr. Hanušová Jaroslava, Ph.D. ABSTRAKT This thesis deals with the topic of sexual education in terms of teaching this topic at primary schools. First part of this thesis contains overview of basic concepts related to sexual education, brief history, available and recommended teaching aids (material and non- material) and recommendations for teaching pupils with special educational needs. Main goal of the work is to create a comprehensive overview of how sex education teaching takes place in selected elementary schools in terms of teaching evaluation, discussed topics or organization form of teaching. Survey results are .... in second part of this thesis. These results shows, that the sexual education teaching is very diverse from school to school. Most of the surveyed school prefer discussion that gives pupils an opportunity to express themselves and develop thoughts. Discussion between teacher and pupils was marked by 116 teachers, which is 97 %. Another important result is the importance of sex education for pupils from the teachers' point of view. Knowledge of primary school health education teachers about contraception

The diploma thesis Knowledge of health education teachers at primary schools about contraception deals in the theoretical part with the field of health education at universities in the Czech Republic with a focus on the implementation of a course with a sexual reproduction theme and the inclusion of the topic of contraception. The practical part is made up of the results of a questionnaire-based electronic survey investigating the knowledge of teachers on the topic of contraception. The main goal is to determine the knowledge of health education teachers teaching at the second level of elementary schools on the topic of contraception using the number of correct answers. The first sub-goal is to compare the knowledge of interviewed teachers with approval of the subject of health education and without approval of the subject of health education. The second partial goal is to compare the knowledge of novice teachers (less than 5 years of teaching experience) and teachers with more than 5 years of teaching experience. The third sub-goal is to find out the professional qualification and approval of health education teachers. Psychological Aspects of Prevention of Sexual Risk Behavior with Attention to Attitudinal Changes in Adolescents

Sexual risk behavior is a phenomenon affecting physical and mental health of an individual. In this paper, the psychological aspects of specific types of sexual risk behavior with attention to its causes as well as its consequences are presented. It is focused on a developmental period of adolescence in the context of the risk behavior syndrome in adolescents. Furthermore, effective approaches to preventive activities are discussed. As for the objectives of programs, the main aim is to influence the attitudes of adolescents. These changes should be reflected in their behavior and can be measured. The paper projects a questionnaire for attitudes towards sexual risk behavior of adolescents entitled Inventory SP-20 that is also used in a research design. In the experiment, changes in attitudes within the preventive programs are measured. The change can be an indicator of effectivity of the programs. The thesis is focused on health education and area of sex education in elementary schools. Work gives a picture of the current state of teaching of health education and determines the extent to which schools meet the requirements of health promotion. The theoretical part describes the historical development of health education curriculum in primary schools since the early twentieth century to the present. It deals with areas of sex education, its purpose, subject and content. The practical part deals with the integration of Health Education in schools, through the analysis of educational programs and survey.
Changes of Sex Education from 1945 to nowadays

in English: The thesis has been focused on a description of the Sex education evolution in Czech countries since 1945 till nowadays; based on theoretical studies as well as interrogation of individuals of different age. Its one part deals also with a research which concerned in 62 respondents. The main aim of the research was to find out whether the Sex education has been taught at primary school, how often and which topics have been mentioned. At the end of the thesis a brief comparison among the theoretical information and the results of the research are mentioned.
Influence of Primary Family Upbringing on the Form of Intimate Life of Young Adults

The aim of the thesis was to explore the impact of sex education in the family on own intimate life of the individual. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part describes issues that affect the content of thesis - human sexuality, sex education at school and in family, and individual family surrounding. The practical part describes the implemented research. The research aim was formulated in four hypotheses. The first aim was to verify whether young people perceive sex education in the family as something that affects their intimate lives. The second aim was to verify the connection between points of view that parents present to their children about contraception, abortion and the beginning of sexual life and the view that in adulthood these children hold. Next aim was to determine whether there is the coherence between the way how parents talk to their children about sexuality and by how much is at the beginning of children own sexual life affected by these councils. And lastly, the work seeks to map the way how parents talk with children about sexuality and whether that affects children own experience of sexuality. In research took part 137 respondents - 80 women and 57 men, all respondents had secondary or university education and were aged from 21 to 30 years....

The thesis titled "The body of the other. The erotics as learning content in Art education." have character of an exploration probe. It focuses on erotism in environment of educational institutions. This work deals with the body and its erotic contents in art education. It seeks to clarify the concept of erotica. This work seeks various overhangs of erotica into philosophy, advertising, school, personal and public life. This thesis is linked to the teaching of erotic theme and with the issues of integration of eroticism in lessons of art education. The aim is to determine how are the children / students on this topic sensitive. All the text is supplemented by authentic testimonies of students, teachers and parents related to the topic of erotica in school.

In the theorecical part,the notions adolescence, gender, single life, planned parenthood and sexual education were explained together with a brief overview of contraceptive methods. Also, the motherhood, the father's role,the mother's role, the family and the parenthood were clarified. In the empirical part, I surveyed the knowledge of the contrateption and the planned parenthood with the students of a grammar school and of a secondary school. I searched for their knowledge of Postcoital contraception as well as of the termination of pregnancy. I also surveyed who is more informed, whether boys or girls.
