This proposal will focus on the study of synergy between traditional sports and esports and examine what reasons lead sports clubs to invest in esports and create their esports teams. It aims to understand the economic, strategic, and fan-based aspects of the connection between these sectors and propose recommendations for clubs on how best to use the synergy between traditional sports and esports. Methods: Qualitative research is used in this thesis. Research is based on a carefully designed selection of respondents to obtain a representative sample of opinions from various environments and perspectives. A total of six key respondents participated in the research, each representing a recognized traditional football team or hockey club. Conclusion: The results of the thesis show that traditional sports clubs are deciding to establish esports teams primarily for the purpose of brand expansion and reaching younger demographic groups. This step also opens up new market opportunities and sources of...

Kučerka, Andrej ; Kokštejn, Jakub (advisor) ; Vampola, Jindřich (referee)
Tittle: Analysis of standard kick-off situations in soccer goalkeepers at different ages Objectives: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse the standard goal kick situation and compare their frequency and successness between different categories Methods: The scientific method of indirect observation through video recording was used to carry out this work. Based on the observation of the matches of three different teams in different clubs and age categories, an analysis of the success rate of setting up an attack during a kick from goal was carried out. Results: We tracked the frequency and successness rate of standard kick-off situations and compared three categories - U18, U19 and men. The results were surprising, as the youth categories exceeded expectations in establishing an attack on a kick from goal compared to the world-class A- team. For U18 and U19, we found that central defenders were more likely to be in the penalty area (U18: 88 %, U19: 91 %) than out of the penalty area when taking a kick from goal. In contrast, for the senior team, FC Sevilla had 71 % of central defenders positioned outside the penalty area. The positioning of the opponent's attackers showed that the defenders - the opponent's attackers - were outside the zones designated for setting up (65%), while the youth...

Pavlů, Adam ; Hráský, Pavel (advisor) ; Majorová, Simona (referee)
Author: Adam Pavlů Title: Using regeneration procedures in football by young and elite players Objectives: The main objective of this bachelor's thesis is to find out the use of individual regeneration procedures in active players in the adolescent and male categories. Next, find out how individual regeneration procedures affect the psychological and physical side of each player, how it makes them feel and how it affects their sports performance. Methods: The thesis is processed in the form of a systematic research. Domestic and foreign literary resources and scholarly foreign articles were used to process the theoretical part. I obtained the material basis for the processing of the practical part through the questionnairy survey. Results: The final use of regeneration procedures within this club is not very favourable. Less than three quarters of players (68,2 %) do not have the option of using any regeneration procedure. In terms of individual regeneration, exactly half of the players (50 %) do not use sports massage for recovery. The same statistics were shown for sauna regeneration. More than half of the players (54,5 %) also do not use whirlpool baths, hardening or other regeneration procedures. Conversely, most players had abundant representation of regeneration through movement. Most players...
xG Statistics in Football Matches: Predictions and Betting
Černý, Sebastian ; Hanus, Luboš (advisor) ; Šťastná, Lenka (referee)
The thesis studies the effectiveness of betting on the results of football matches using Expected Goals (xG) statistics from two sources Understat and FootyS- tats. It evaluates the performance of 6 different models in seasons 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 across the Ąve highest-ranked European leagues using binary logistic regression to predict two possible results, either the home team winning or away team not losing. For betting, several strategies are used based on ex- isting literature. The results are compared to the model containing traditional variables used commonly for predictions in football based on relevant litera- ture. Using both a combination of xG and traditional variables, and only xG variables the results suggest that xG variables are effective for predicting the outcome of football games. The model containing only Understat xG variables yielded 4.18% return on investment (ROI) when betting on every match in both seasons, which was 3.6% more than the model with traditional variables. For betting only on particular matches based on certain criteria, the combined models with both types of variables had the best results, reaching 10.87% ROI that again outperformed the model with traditional variables by approximately 4.5%. The Impact of Stadium Attendance on the Phenomenon of Home Advantage in European Football
Radimský, Marek ; Šíma, Jan (advisor) ; Krause, Veronika (referee)
Title: The Impact of Stadium Spectators on the Home Advantage Phenomenon in European Football Objective: The aim of this thesis is to identify the magnitude of home advantage in selected football leagues during the seasons before COVID-19 and in the 2020/21 season, and to determine whether the presence of spectators significantly influences HA. If confirmed, the study will also examine whether the number of spectators is a significant factor. Methods: The magnitude of HA is identified using the method of percentage home point success. To test the significance of the presence and number of spectators on HA, paired and unpaired two-sample t-tests are used, respectively. The normality of input data is verified using histograms and the Shapiro-Wilk test. Visualization of the dataset distribution is conducted using boxplots. Results: The results of all examined leagues collectively show a statistically significant decline in HA during the COVID-19 season compared to the ten-year pre- pandemic average. This finding indicates that the presence of spectators is very important for HA. Conversely, the difference in HA decline between two groups of leagues, categorized by the size of their spectator attendance, was not statistically significant. This suggests that the mere number of spectators may not play a...

Mašek, Michal ; Nováková, Pavlína (advisor) ; Hráský, Pavel (referee)
7 Abstract Title: Compensation of muscular imbalances in girls of older football preparation Objectives: The main objective of this study was to determine which muscle imbalances are most common in girls of the older football team (WU11) SK Slavia Praha and to create a simple compensatory program that can be easily applied in practice. The next goal is to compare the results of input and output measurements, where any improved performance should reflect the effectiveness of the compensatory program (exercise). Methods: The thesis is theoretical and empirical in nature. It is a professional work, a pilot study with the characteristics of a quasiexperiment. The design of the thesis is conceived as an entry test - intervention (compensatory exercise) - re-test (exit test). The tests were: the Matthias test, the Trendelenburg test, the Sit and reach test, the hip flexor shortening muscle test and the diaphragm test. The compensation programme was carried out over a period of 6 months. The study was conducted on 19 girls (10-11 years) from the football club SK Slavia Prague, category WU11. Results: From the exit testing we found that there was an improvement in the results of most probands in each test. The greatest improvement was noted in the Matthias test and the Trendelenburg-Duchenne test, which assesses...
Determinants of football players' market value during the season: Discrepancies between TOP 5 and the rest of the leagues
Chalupa, Vojtěch ; Kurka, Josef (advisor) ; Bajgar, Matěj (referee)
Football is a global phenomenon, primarily driven by clubs acquiring players who perform on their behalf on the pitch. The valuation of footballers during transfer negotiations is influenced by numerous factors. This thesis expands upon existing research by examining the discrepancies in the mechanisms of player market value formation between the top 5 European leagues and other competitions, using values from Transfermarkt.com together with the data from the 2022/23 season. Employing the Ordinary Least Squares method, we dis- cover that the substantial enhancement in the total price tags of players in the elite leagues is accompanied by variations in the factors a ecting these values. Notably, the analysis reveals significant disparities in the influence of ball possession-related statistics such as successful passes, dribbles, and the xG indicator, which tend to positively a ect player values only in less presti- gious leagues. Common significant factors with strong e ects in both groups include pre-season player's worth, number of minutes played, goals scored, and statistics reflecting team success. Contrary to previous studies, this research identified that age consistently impacts all players negatively. Further analysis also explores di erences between individual positions on the pitch and within...
