Social work with citizens from Ukraine who have temporary protection status in the Czech Republic
NOVÁKOVÁ, Marie
The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of social work with Ukrainian citizens who came to the Czech Republic after the outbreak of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. The thesis contains a theoretical and practical part. The first chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to the relations between Russia and Ukraine - it describes the situation after the independence of Ukraine and before the outbreak of the war in 2022. In the following chapters, the status of temporary protection, the characteristics of its users and the description of social work with refugees as a target group are presented. In this section, the needs of the target group, the principles of social work with refugee clients, the objectives of cooperation are introduced, and then the role of the social worker is defined, which should also be introduced to new clients with whom the worker establishes a relationship. The theoretical part is concluded with a chapter dealing directly with the social services that the target group can use with their status. The practical part of the thesis is devoted to research conducted with twelve Ukrainian refugees, which was carried out in cooperation with several institutions and services in České Budějovice. At the very beginning of the research, the issue of anonymity of the respondents proved to be crucial. Respondents often expressed concern that the answers would not be passed on to social service providers, for example, or could not be linked to the information they gave me - especially those expressing dissatisfaction or suggestions for improvement. Due to the specific nature of the research population, the specific names of organisations and service providers are not given in the thesis and a planned interview process was used with each respondent, particularly in terms of how responses were recorded. In particular, the research focused on whether and, if necessary, what social services this group of clients uses, whether they have sufficient awareness of their options in this area, what changes they would appreciate and what obstacles they most often encounter when cooperating with social services and during their everyday life.

The topic of the bachelor thesis focuses on supporting the education of pupils with a different mother tongue through a teaching assistant. The aim of the whole thesis is to analyse the role and importance of the teaching assistant in the education of pupils from Ukraine. The bachelor thesis is composed of theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part consists of three chapters, which contain the basic theoretical insight into the mentioned issue. The first chapter is devoted to the basic characteristics of a pupil with a different mother tongue, its definition, legislative anchoring and the last part deals with language support. The second chapter focuses on inclusive education for pupils with a different mother tongue. The chapter describes the legislation, qualification readiness, the scope of work activities of the teaching assistant and the cooperation between the teaching assistant and the teacher. The practical section examines the role of the teaching assistant and his/her support in the education of pupils from Ukraine. This section is conducted through a questionnaire survey, which is then complemented by semi-structured interviews with a teaching assistant and a teacher who have experience of teaching Ukrainian pupils. A total of 226 respondents took part in the survey. From the results, we learn about the work activities of the teaching assistant, the use of didactic aids and mutual cooperation in the education of pupils from Ukraine. The results based on the quantitative research were subsequently complemented through interviews with teaching staff. The bachelor thesis can serve to optimize the education of pupils with different mother tongues in primary schools.
Strengthened by Sirens
Nikitina, Pavla ; Horáková, Jana (referee) ; Medek, Tomáš (advisor)
The diploma thesis "Hardened by Sirens" focuses on telling stories through sculptural realisation. These stories are taken from the new phase of the Russian-Ukrainian war that started in 2022. I created the sculptures based on 3D scans as a reportage of events caused by the war. In my work, I followed up on an earlier sculptural project-study entitled "5 Minutes", which was created in 2019 in the context of my bachelor’s studies at FFA BUT. The sub-heading to the study read "3D war reportage ". In the textual part of the master’s thesis, I also focus on the concept of 3D reportage and the various possibilities it offers me as an artist working on the border of the genre of reportage and social documentary.

World: Anything bad happens. Internet: Let’s make a meme of it!
Balcaříková, Ivana ; Heřmanová,, Marie (referee) ; Kubíková, Zuzana (advisor)
So called Generation Z was born between the years 1995 and 2012. They came into The World when The Internet was already in full bloom. Gen Z and Internet are inseparable. It's their natural habitat. They move across the internet waters skillfully without any problem and at all times. The feeds of Gen Z kids are constantly filled with new information, themes, phenomenon, trends, memes. That makes the nature of the whole generation rather nihilistic and in surrender to the constant shit storm which they have to deal with every day. The biggest weapon of the Gen Z is undoubtedly their specific kind of humor. Memes, references, reaction videos are their biggest coping mechanism. These things can be seen all through their normal day to day life. This format however gives plenty of space to individual creators to express their frustration with The World's situation which they get exposed to on a daily basis. It's only natural for them to be interested and engage in bigger themes such as racism, refugee crisis, climate change or LBTQIA+ problems. Unlike their previous generations, Gen Z uses memes and humor to cope. This Bachelor theses focuses on mapping the content that through specific meme format on Tiktok explores the big themes of today's day and age. Do these short clips have any potential informative or educational value or are they just sometimes funny, cool or offensive videos that teens make to keep up with the trends. If it is so, is it problematic?
