Transposition of Energy Communities into Czech Law
Pešková, Michaela ; Svobodová, Magdaléna (referee)
Transposition of Energy Communities into Czech Law - abstract The main topic of the presented diploma thesis is the legal concept of energy communities and its transposition into Czech law. The term "energy communities" means both citizen energy communities according to the Directive (EU) 2019/944 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 June 2019 on common rules for the internal market for electricity and amending Directive 2012/27/EU and renewable energy communities as defined by the Directive (EU) 2018/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 December 2018 on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources. None of the mentioned directives has yet been fully transposed in the Czech Republic, although the transposition deadlines in both cases have already passed. The first chapter of the diploma thesis discusses the transposition of EU directives in general and from a theoretical point of view, including transposition methods and a description of the process of transposition of directives at the national level. The second chapter deals with the EU legal provisions regulating the energy communities themselves. Common characteristics, as well as basic differences between both types of energy communities, are identified, including the consequences of these differences for...
Phenomenon Like House as an example of an internet-television media convergence
Svobodová, Marie ; Řehořová, Irena (advisor) ; Marcelli, Miroslav (referee)
This thesis focuses on the concept of media convergence as an complex and unpredictable process of old and new media colliding. More precisely, the the focus is of convergence between the television and the internet media. Due to digitalization the TV is undergoing changes and unavoidably interacts with the internet. The media convergence is shown on the example of a Czech reality show called Like House, where a group of influencers - internet (micro)celebrities - lives under one roof. Like House 2 is here not considered just as a reality show but as a hybrid multimedia project that spans across multiple media platforms and comes to be from multiple sources. Based on the analysis of the TV episodes as well as the associated social media, the conclusion is that the logic of television and internet is inherently linked together here. Like House 2 is an example of how media convergence can look like where media are converging on multiple levels.
Nuclear Ban Treaty and Stigmatization of NATO's Extended Nuclear Deterrence: Responses from Germany and Czechia
Svobodová, Markéta ; Smetana, Michal (advisor) ; Ludvík, Jan (referee)
Markéta Svobodová: Nuclear Ban Treaty and Stigmatization of NATO's Extended Nuclear Deterrence: Responses from Germany and Czechia (2023) Abstract To change the way nuclear weapons are addressed in international politics, proponents of the Nuclear Ban Treaty have called out not only the nuclear-haves, but also states benefiting from extended nuclear deterrence. If the nuclear disarmament norm is central to what constitutes appropriate behavior in international politics, how do NATO member states react to this deliberate stigma imposition strategy? The presented diploma thesis aims to answer this question by examining the cases of Germany and Czechia, showing the discursive strategies they employ to manage the circulation of the potentially discrediting information in regard to their identity as responsible members of the international community. While success of stigma imposition depends on the degree of stigma power possessed by the stigmatizer in the given context, In Germany, the ties of the current political leadership to pro-disarmament non-governmental sector have contributed to a shift from an approach of stigma rejection to a degree of stigma recognition over the examined time period (2013-2023). In Czechia, the lack of such a connection has among other factors prevented the non-governmental...
Managing and implementing change in the organisation
Svobodová, Markéta ; Mudd, Dana (advisor) ; Vinopal, Jiří (referee)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on managing and implementing change in an organization and examines key aspects of this issue. The first part of the thesis provides a theoretical framework that defines the key concepts such as change, an organization, or change management. It also defines several types of change and discusses the factors that can influence the success of change initiatives. Furthermore, the work identifies the key determinants of an organizational culture that can influence the acceptance of changes and the adaptability of an organization. Several of the best-known approaches and models that can be used in the implementation of changes also form a part of the theoretical basis. As a part of the research section of the thesis, an analysis of a specific case of an organization recently struggling with the implementation of fundamental changes was carried out, thus enabling the topic to be presented through a practical example. Research methods include the collection of primary data through face-to-face interviews with stakeholders. The aim was to capture the change management process in this organization and identify the benefits and limitations of the change implementation process. The research results provide insights into the success of change management in practice, present the...
Consumer interests in the regulation of Internet gatekeepers in EU and US competition law
Novák, Matyáš ; Šmejkal, Václav (advisor) ; Svobodová, Magdaléna (referee)
Consumer interests in the regulation of Internet gatekeepers in EU and US competition law Abstract This thesis focuses on the regulation of Internet gatekeepers in EU and US competition law. The aim of the thesis is to compare the rules and legislative proposals on the regulation of Internet gatekeepers from the perspective of protecting the interests of end consumers. The structure of the thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is an introduction to the topic of the thesis. The second chapter offers a brief insight into the relationship between competition law and consumers. This chapter outlines the history of competition law and the consumer in a broader and narrower sense. The second chapter then defines the various consumer interests that are protected by EU and US competition law - price, choice, quality and innovation. The third chapter introduces the individual pieces of legislation examined, namely the European Digital Markets Act and the US federal bills American Innovation and Choice Online Act, Platform Competition and Opportunity Act, Ending Platform Monopolies Act, ACESS Act of 2021, and Open App Markets Act. The fourth chapter is devoted to the actual content of the gatekeeper regulation under review. This chapter is organized into 20 subchapters, 19 of which address the...
Methodological framework for European regulation of (artificial) intelligence and its limits
Vlasta, Martin ; Tomášek, Michal (advisor) ; Svobodová, Magdaléna (referee)
in English language - Methodological framework for European regulation of (artificial) intelligence and its limits This paper first asses three different approaches to the human condition and arrives at the conclusion that it is exceedingly difficult to presicelly qualify the criteria what makes a natural born human, or a legal entity, a Person in legal sense, apart from the fact we have a strong intuition for it, whereas that intuition is lacking for AI systems. The paper proceeds to establish a definition for AI system for the regulator, one that is practical and functional. One of the key aspects that was identified was the ability of decision-making of artificial systems in any form is the driving force behind the need for regulation. Further more the paper briefly analyses series of documents from various stakeholders that propose their own priorities regarding AI regulation. Furthermore priorities and values laid out in Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy AI by AI HLEG were highlighted as they are most relevant for the future regulation. Key values revolve around human- centric approach to AI regulation. Next, the paper explores a modification of introduced AI topology and covers various issues as well as proposals for solutions. The paper explores the fundamental terminology and definitions in...
Influence of severe plastic deformation and subsequent annealing on creep behaviour of martensitic 9% Cr steel

The objective of the study is to evaluate the effects of severe plastic deformation (SPD) and annealing on creep behaviour of advanced tungsten modified creep-resistant 9 % Cr martensitic P92 steel. The as-received P92 steel was deformed by high-pressure torsion (HTP), high-pressure sliding (HPS) and rotary swaging (RS) at room temperature prior creep testing. These SPD methods imposed significantly different equivalent plastic strain in the range from 1 up to 20. Constant load creep tests in tension were performed in an argon atmosphere at 873 K and applied stress ranging from 50 to 200 MPa. The microstructure and phase composition of P92 steel were studied using a scanning electron microscope Tescan Lyra 3 and a transmission electron microscope Jeol 2100F. The results show that under the same creep loading conditions the HPT and HPS-processed P92 steel exhibited significantly faster minimum creep rates, creep fracture strain and the decrease in the value of the stress exponent of the creep rate in comparison with as-received P92 steel. However, it was revealed that the RS-processed specimens exhibited one order of magnitude lower minimum creep rate and lower ductility compared to commercial P92 steel. The creep curves for the HPT and HPS-processed states exhibited a pronounced minimum of strain rate. The pronounced minimum of strain rate disappeared when these states were annealed at 923K/500h before application of creep loading. The microstructure changes occurring during creep and different creep behaviour between as-received and deformed states are discussed.
Multidisciplinary team and care of patients with Parkinson's disease
Svobodová, Martina ; Vrzáček, Petr (advisor) ; Lejsal, Matěj (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to map the needs of social service clients with Parkinson's disease. Based on the needs, the goal of the work is to design a multidisciplinary team, its composition and functioning. In the theoretical part, I deal with Parkinson's disease as such, diagnosis, course, treatment and its side effects. I am also involved in social services, especially those that specifically focus on clients with Parkinson's. This part concludes with chapters on participation and empowerment, patient organizations and the multidisciplinary team as such. The third part deals with the methodology of the research. I used combined research, specifically interviews, field research and a questionnaire. I describe here the data analysis and ethical aspects of the research. The results of the research show that a multidisciplinary team is a suitable variant of care to fulfill some of the clients' needs. Here, I observe where the view of the client himself and the caregivers on the client's needs differ from each other and where they are in harmony. Based on the research, I subsequently propose the composition of a multidisciplinary team and model its functioning. In the discussion, I try to look critically at my work and also to confront it with other works that focus on a similar topic. The conclusion...
