Title: Nutrition awareness of U19 football players Objectives: The primary aim of the bachelor thesis was to determine the knowledge of individual players in the field of rational diet and then to evaluate these results obtained by means of an online survey. A secondary aim of the study was to gain insight into the extent to which individual players are interested in the use of a rational diet during their sporting career. Methods: In the practical part of the bachelor thesis a quantitative research strategy in the form of a survey was used. The questionnaire survey was used to collect data about the probands and their eating habits and awareness on the issue of rational diet. The results were evaluated and the results were shared with the representatives of the clubs where the survey was conducted. For ethical reasons, only adults or probands over 18 years of age were approached for the survey, as there was no use of invasive methodologies and the questions were not personal in any way, were anonymous only, and no approval was sought from the UK FTVS Ethics Committee. Results: The questionnaire survey showed that football players are quite informed about the topic of rational dietary principles, but their knowledge of this topic is not at a level where they can navigate it completely...

NutriCheQ: A screening tool for toddlers nutrition deficiencies
Kaprová, Jana ; Gonsorčíková, Lucie (advisor) ; Floriánková, Marcela (referee)
For many reasons, toddlerhood is one of the key periods in relation to nutrition. Among the experts, general pediatricians have the best chance to influence the quality of nutrition in children of this age. It is questionable whether they pay enough attention to the topic of toddler nutrition during regular check-ups. They have the opportunity to use the NutriCHEQ program, which comprehensively solves the issue of nutrition in toddler age. It includes the NutriCHEQ questionnaire, which screens for deficiencies in the nutrition of toddlers, and a set of brochures that offer solutions to the revealed problems. The goal of this work is to use the NutriCHEQ questionnaire to assess the quality of nutrition and eating habits of toddlers and then to analyze the dependence of the facts on selected factors on the part of the child and his family. Another goal is to compare the course of nutrition counseling for infants and for toddlers in the practice of pediatricians. Research related to toddler nutrition was conducted in the form of a questionnaire survey, in which 96 children aged 12-35 months participated. Their parents filled out the NutriCHEQ questionnaire and the Supplemental questionnaire, which was focused on selected data about the child and his or her family. A total of 6 doctors completed the...

Kocová, Jana ; Vágnerová, Tereza (advisor) ; Mádlová, Pavla (referee)
The bachelor thesis examines the dietary habits of elderly people over 65 years of age living in a home environment in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis was to map these dietary habits and compare them with contemporary recommendations of relevant professional institutions. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the definitions of old age, ageing and selected terms used in geriatrics. The findings on nutritional disorders, which are not unique in the elderly, are presented. In particular, malnutrition, obesity, sacropenia or sarcopenic obesity are discussed. However, the most extensive component of the theoretical part is occupied by the question of healthy nutrition of the elderly, the nutritional needs of individual nutrients and the factors that influence nutrition. The practical part of the thesis consists of an online anonymous quantitative empirical questionnaire survey and its subsequent analysis. The subject population was a total of 125 respondents aged 65 years and over, of which 89 (71.2 %) were women and 36 (28.8 %) were men. The questionnaire contained questions relating to general characteristics (gender, height, weight and BMI), but the bulk of the questionnaire was concerned with qualitative and quantitative aspects of diet. This was mainly a frequency questionnaire,...
Awareness of food labelling among patients suffering with obesity and diabetes
Hálová, Nikol ; Brunerová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Anděl, Michal (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the awareness of food labelling among patients with obesity and diabetes. The aim of the thesis is to determine the knowledge of these patients about food labelling and their opinions on this topic. Furthermore, the thesis examines the influence of food labelling on the dietary habits of patients with obesity and diabetes, as well as the possibilities for improving awareness of food labelling among these patients. The research was conducted in the form of an anonymous questionnaire, which helped identify the level of knowledge and attitudes of patients with obesity and diabetes towards food labelling. The results showed that awareness of food labelling significantly influences the dietary habits of patients. Patients with higher levels of knowledge about food labelling are more likely to make informed and healthier decisions when choosing foods. The thesis also identified the main barriers that prevented patients from effectively utilizing food labelling, such as small font sizes on labels, complexity of information, and inadequate understanding of labelling. Proposed measures to improve awareness include the implementation of educational programs, practical demonstrations, and interactive workshops focused on proper label reading. Additionally, collaboration with dietitians...
Effect of diet monitoring on weight reduction in obese patients
Zemanová, Adéla ; Šimková, Simona (advisor) ; Váchová, Alena (referee)
The Effect of Diet Monitoring on Weight Reduction in Obese Patients Abstract The thesis titled "The Effect of Diet Monitoring on Weight Reduction in Obese Patients" I explore weight reduction strategies for obese patients. Specifically, I examine whether respondents who monitor their energy intake using the "Kalorické tabulky" app achieve greater weight loss and changes in body composition. Obesity is a global epidemic, and its prevalence is rising not only in developed countries. According to current trends from the World Obesity Federation, more than 4 billion people may be overweight or obesity by 2035. For this thesis, I chose a quantitative research approach involving 76 participants attending a nutrition clinic. The participants were divided into two research groups. Specifically, research group 2 included those participants who expressed interest in using the "Kalorické tabulky" app for monitoring caloric intake and who also had a smartphone compatible with this app. Participants who either did not express interest in using the app or did not have a suitable phone were placed in research group 1. The research involved taking a medical history, instructing participants on how to write the five-day diet record, providing individual nutritional interventions based on these diet records, and conducting...

Strojná, Natália ; Pánková, Alexandra (advisor) ; Králíková, Eva (referee)
The topic of this bachelor thesis was a comparison of the eating habits of users of heated tobacco compared to smokers of conventional cigarettes. The main aim of the bachelor thesis was to compare whether there are significant changes in the eating habits of heated tobacco users compared to conventional cigarette smokers using responses from an eating habits questionnaire. The study compared the eating habits of 18 respondents who were divided into a heated tobacco user group (8 respondents) with a mean age of 41 ± 5.66 and a conventional cigarette smoker group (8 respondents) with a mean age of 55 ± 15.09. The parameters under statistical investigation were protein, fat, carbohydrate, fiber, dairy products and fruit intake along with vegetables. Student's two-sample unpaired t-test for mean was used for statistical comparison of the groups. Before performing the t-test, the F-test was used in which each parameter was subjected to analysis for the so-called equality of variance. The resulting means of the observed traits between the sets were as follows: protein p = 0.585859, fat p = 0.536003, carbohydrate p = 0.689622, fiber p = 0.94961, dairy p = 0.475181, fruit and vegetables p = 0.544135. All observed traits were not statistically significant, given that we considered the significance level to...
