The project is based on a study of the Industrial bakery Herold Brno v the subject named AG 035. The aim of this work is a formation of a new architectural and urban concept thanks to which the nowadays unused property is put to use and creates a new pleasant workplace for the employees. In the surrounding areas, mostly heavy industrial buildings and factories can be found. In addition, the two industrial parts are consisting of production halls and goods despatch. Functional parts are connected by glass corridors. The main element of the property is the continual atrium by which the production halls as well as administrative sections are separated from the storage. The building is single-floored, however, it has different light and construction heights. The mass composition is accompanied by three granaries. The aim is to focus the attention on the nature and to create enjoyable workplace for the members of staff. Therefore, the façade of the building is built with the use of glass façade panels with built-in expanded metal. Thanks to the glass façade a natural shielding is created as well as direct sunlight penetration is prevented. Moreover, a pleasant light dispersion is achieved. The structure creates the impression of a closed structure that reflects its surroundings and the urban green areas. In addition, the big mass construction is

The work deals with a design of Culture centre in Brno located on the gap site in front of park Obilní trh on Údolní street. An urban design concept keeps all of existing buildings that are currently in use and completes a frontage line of surrounding historic buildings. Main point of the design is a courtyard, or a big atrium with symetrically curved shape, allowing daylighting and interconnection of inner spaces. Architectural design is given by a concept of the cultural center being a „sprouted grain“, or a place for talent display and collective evolution. Hallway, passageway, corridors and foyer are placed around a courtyard, space dynamics is itensified with a circular staircase. The Building of the Cultural center is composed of two parts: anterior one (northern part) with a courtyard and posterior one with bigger multipurpose hall and its support area (southern part), set in a sloping terrain. Anterior part consists of several rooms of versatile use (smaller hall, practice rooms, clubrooms) and studios that can be linked together to create an exhibition area, plus staff, technical and sanitary facilities. On street level, there are entrances to commercial spaces and a tea-room with a bookstore. A street-facing facade (northern one) is designed as a curtain wall, glazed in central part with circular staircase and thin marble pannels cladding on sides. Multifunctional building Brno - Líšeň
Krčková, Zuzana ; Teplý, Vladimír (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor) ; Pěnčík, Jan (advisor)
The theme of this bachelor’s thesis is to design a new polyfunctional building in the city district of Brno-Líšeň. The area is defined by Josefy Faimonové Street and surrounding buildings. There are primarily concrete blocks of flats located in the neighbourhood of the object. The principle of the design lies in including the object into its environment in the context of its closest surroundings. The building does not dominate the given area by its shape nor by the choice of materials. Its integration into the slope allows the building to adapt to the surrounding terrain. The object of the multifunctional house is divided into several functional units which are closely related and complete each other. There is a café, leaseable premises suitable mostly for commercial or administrative usage, doctors’ offices and an underground car park situated in the building. This car park would be able of covering the needs of the whole object. A semi-closed atrium is designed for relaxation and access and, together with the modification of the space in front of the building, it should contribute to creating public space used by the residents of the housing estate.
