Testimonies of adolescents and adults with dyslexia, dyslexia - a problem or a advantage

The diploma thesis deals with the testimonies of adolescents and adults with dyslexia, it deals with the idea of whether dyslexia is a problem or an advantage for a person. The theoretical part of the thesis defines basic concepts such as dyslexia and its effects on people in society. The first chapter is devoted to the types of approaches to education and the support of individuals with specific learning disabilities. The second chapter deals with the factors that affect the personality of adolescents and adults with SLD. The third chapter describes support and intervention for people with dyslexia. The main goal of the thesis and research is to specify individuals with dyslexia in the context of their self-concept and involvement in society. The practical part of the diploma thesis has been realized by means of a qualitative research survey. Support measures of the first level for primary pupils with potential special educational needs

The diploma thesis is focused on the production of supportive measures for children who are supposed to suffer some learning disabilities, namely it is concerned with the pupil support plan. The theoretical part briefly mentions the characteristics of younger school age. Every child is different and the beginning of the school attendance reveals if he or she is ready for the school system. Describes possible signs of problems from the perspective of a school performance. The diploma thesis includes possibilities of intervention and support of problem children, it explains intrinsic and extrinsic factors, mentions the important role of a teacher and also cooperation with a family. It explores reasons for supportive measures and describes the situation according to the current legislation. It also defines educational contents in the Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education and briefly gives information about inclusive education. It defines the description of supportive measures and their levels and finally it specifies the term of the pupil support plan with its importance. The diploma thesis Art as a means of prevention and correction of dysgraphia in the environment of the 1st stage of primary school represents a connection of special pedagogy with art education in the environment of a primary school. The diploma thesis also presents intervention material to examine the effectiveness of the development of fine motor skills, visual-motor coordination, concentration of attention and visual imagination. The aim of the work is to offer an insight into the theory of specific learning disabilities, to present the author's intervention material as a possibility of initial pedagogical diagnostics, development and correction in the field of special educational needs as a whole with the help of art education. Methodological Specifics of Beginner Piano Teaching of Students of Different Ages

The thesis is concerned with methodological specifics of beginner piano teaching of students at different age levels. It attempts to give a complex view of its various aspects. The thesis is subdivided into several chapters, drawing on available psychological and methodological literature, piano course books and a questionnaire survey. The first chapter focuses on a beginner piano learner as an individual undergoing a particular stage of psychological development. It explores learners' general as well as music- specific characteristics and links these characteristics to piano playing. In addition, it describes motivational tendencies prevailing at different development stages, and other factors which can substantially influence the learning process, but have not hitherto been discussed with respect to piano teaching in greater detail although a pedagogue can more easily deal with potential problems that may arise at beginner levels when thoroughly informed. TITLE: Teaching English and Pupils with Special Educational Needs AUTHOR: Janka Kociánová DEPARTMENT: Department of Special Education SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Lenka Felcmanová, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: The thesis deals with the teaching of English of pupils with special educational needs, focusing on pupils with specific learning disabilities (SLD). The issue of pupils with SLD and didactics of English language are described in the theoretical part. The aim of the practical part was to find out how pupils with SLD are taught English in primary schools, which forms of education, the most frequently aids (textbooks, materials, etc.) and methods are used. Quantitative as well as qualitative methods were chosen for the research - the questionnaire survey (the questionnaire for teachers), aids and analysis of materials, interviews with teachers and case studies. On the basis of the obtained data, the effectiveness of the various activities is evaluated and a list of the recommended teaching aids, materials and resources is presented. And then describe educational methods and adopting of knowledge and skills for students with learning disabilities. I also aimed on role and attitude of teachers in education of pupils with learning disabilities. Through questionnaire inquiry I was investigating readiness and forms of education by teachers of foreign languages in this problematics, with evaluation of collected data and final summarization of this problematics. Work should serve not only for academical purposes, but also for informing teachers of foreign languages and choosing of their future work in educational process of pupils with specific learning disabilities. Assistant of teacher at an elementary school for children with specific learning disabilities

The thesis is divided into two parts. The first, theoretical part is divided into three chapters, which describe specific learning disabilities, education of pupils with specific learning disabilities and last part deals with the teaching assistant. The second part is practically oriented and the main one is to determine whether pupils third grade elementary school teacher's assistant fruitful work and whether his work reflected on the quality of pupils' school work and their results.
