Web Page Segmentation Methods

The aim of this work is to investigate segmentation algorithms and to select an appropriate variant which will be implemented in the FitLayout system. Then, after implementation  to compare this variant of the segmentation algorithm with the reference segmentation algorithm,  which is already implemented in the FitLayout system.  At the beginning, thesis deals with the introduction to the problem of segmentation and description of FitLayout system. In the next part, the segmentation algorithms that were suitable candidates for integration into the FitLayout system are described and compared. The practical part of the thesis includes a description of the implementation and integration of the chosen algorithm and also  comparison of the two algorithms in segmenting different web pages.
Algorithms and Programming Education with a focus on the programming language Python

The thesis researches the ability of use of Python programming language in the field of high school education and uses qualitative and quantitative methods of research and finds Python suitable. The thesis also brings theoretical analysis of the Python language, including practical exams in the form of sample programs. It researchs even other programming languages used in education and their suitability for this purpose and compares them with Python programming language. It also finds two most common used programming languages at high schools, which are Pascal / Object Pascal and Java.
Cache-oblivious Algorithms

In this work, we study the cache-oblivious computation model, which is inspired by the behaviour of the memory hierarchy of current computers. We study several graph algorithms and techniques of their design in this model. We consider graph searching, identifying connected components and computing maximal matching. We also study sorting and matrix multiplication as subproblems of many graph algorithms. In ad- dition to previously known algorithms, we present several new ones. We study their efficiency both by the means of asymptotic complexity and by benchmarking them on real hardware and we compare them with classical algorithms.
Alternative economies in rural Russia

The aim of this diploma thesis is to study how nonhuman agents are introduced and employed as a replacement for social reproduction by analyzing the environment and types of exchange practiced in the countryside of post-socialist Russia. The farm where my fieldwork took place exhibits many types of exchange, among which cryptocurrencies, seen as a socio- material algorithm, are used for the redistribution of essential goods and/or favors in a method similar to those used in former socialist and post-socialist economies. Drawing from the anthropological discussion on gift-commodity logic in the area, I look at cryptocurrencies as a hybrid - they hold the qualities of a gift (authority, name) and could be used to speculate with on the crypto stock-exchange (commodity). Transformations of chosen ethical issues in jourrnalism in the rise of artificial intelligence

This diploma thesis aims to describe the transformations in selected ethical aspects of journalism with the advent of artificial intelligence, i.e. in other words to present a list of areas where ethical problems can occur in journalism when media organisations begin to apply artificial intelligence systems. It does so with the help of a synthesis of information from foreign studies that are already dealing with this issue. At the same time, however, it also offers the results of semi-structured interviews with three Czech experts in artificial intelligence, which list other possible changes in ethical aspects in journalism using artificial intelligence. Through synthesis and interviews, we answer questions about which aspects they are and how they change, and the results show that the range of things that will need to be paid attention to when involving artificial intelligence in journalism is varied. Some problems are based on existing ones, some are completely new and unprecedented. The results outline a theoretical framework that can serve as a basis for research into various case studies of this issue.
Logic circuits as models of computation

This work focuses on the study of logic circuits. We investigated the basics of the theory of logic circuits following the textbook "Models of Computation" by John E. Savage and we used this knowledge to solve some of the examples and problems suggested in the textbook. In this work, you can find key concepts related to logical circuits. Our main topic is the estimation of the lower bounds of the circuit size and formula size of general Boolean function. We constructed simple examples of some known circuits and showed how the circuit designs may be offered. 1
.NET's LINQ Optimization

This thesis deals with LINQ (Language integrated query) and investigates possibilities of its implementation and optimization in C# language. Method of rewriting of query to procedural code is chosen and implemented. The goal is to provide a LINQ that can be used in code with the need for high speed.          Regarding the program created for rewriting LINQ queries, the performance of most operators has been increased by 1.2x to 20x of System.Linq speed depending of rewritten algorithm, data source and provided information to rewriting program.
Fenomen deepfakes as a threat for journalism

This Bachelor's thesis tackles the newly occurring type of fake news - deepfake videos. Considering they are quite new and not profusely misused to spread disinformation yet, the thesis embraces this phenomenon right from its roots. In the first section, it defines, what disinformation is, what did it emerge from, how did it look like in the past and how does it look like now. Obviously, to the topic also applies its psychological perspective - in this case, why people's brain does not identify fake news and which short-cuts in processing information take disinformators an advantage from. After such an introduction to the problematics follows a part, which explains the technology behind producing deepfake videos. In a practical part of the thesis concrete deepfake examples are analyzed. Based on this analysis and an interview with Jakub Zelenka, a journalist focusing on fake news, the thesis answers a question of whether and how deepfake videos influence journalism.
Person Identification

This thesis focuses on the person identification based on faces. The aim is to create a working solution of person identification for the authentication purposes utilizing the Microsoft Kinect v2 sensor. It contains a summary of the most used algorithms for facial data description and their comparison. Thesis also proposes a PC program that controls the sensor and collects the facial data, saves them, manages keypoint detection and their comparison.
