Suburban park Bažantnice (Kladno) in Botany and Dendrology Instruction

The topic of this thesis is forest park's Bažantnice mapping. The thesis suggests the way of aplication of botanic terrain education. Botany and dendrology is one of the main educations question on elementary and secondary school. Park Bažantnice can be used in science lesson for its hight potential. The thesis i s divided into two parts. The first of them summarizes differents types of the terrain education and focuses on didactic using of the park Bažantnice. The second one deals with the station mapping and describes way of data colecting and adapting. Accompanying pictures and generated maps are included in appendiced at the back of the thesis. Industrial Heritage of Kladno

Industrial buildings and businesses are inherently to face the Central Bohemian city of Kladno. Through field research is captured in the work of the Kladno current state of industrial monuments and mapped their history. I used only specific cases that are written between technical monuments and they are interesting both from a historical and urban or technical perspective. Thanks capture the historical and contemporary situation arose holistic view of technical monuments in the area and at the same time there was a familiarity with the approach and in terms of the industrial heritage. The work is divided into three main parts. The first is devoted to an introduction to the issues and explain the basic concepts. The second part focuses on the history of metallurgy and mining in the Kladno and also explores the main sights, except where their history is mentioned as the current status. The third section shows the current utilization of monuments, looking for inspiration in the Czech Republic and abroad, how to dispose of unused objects and finally introduces activities that help attract the public's interest in technical monuments and sights mainly to help themselves. Everyday life in tower apartment buildings in Rozdelov in the perspective of the first post-war generation

This diploma thesis is focused on the everyday life of the inhabitants of tower apartment buildings in Kladno - Rozdělov. The houses designed by architect Josef Havlíček were built in the second half of the 1950s. Due to their uniqueness, both the external buildings and the timeless interiors and equipment they were listed as among the cultural sights. Using the method of oral history, I tried to capture the normal course of houses, the lives of individuals and entire families. The work is supported by a source base consisting of interviews with witnesses, archival materials, period legislation and research literature. It is divided into three basic parts - methodological, historical-contextual and empirical. On a general level, the thesis focuses on the system of housing allocation in the former Czechoslovakia and life on housing estates. Furthermore, I specifically describe the daily operation of the house, the figure of the caretaker who supervised maintenance of order, the use of common areas such as laundries, terraces or entrance halls, the area around the house, but also the daily life and leisure of "ordinary people" who lived there. A separate chapter is also devoted to the political propaganda of the time, which was part of the daily life of individuals and the whole society.

The use of regional history in history classes with examples from Kladno region

The diploma thesis titled "The use of regional history in history classes with examples from Kladno region" deals with the topic of regional history, the history of the Kladno region and questionnaire about teaching regional history at schools in the Kladno region. It also offers a thought how this topic can be included in the history classes. One of the primary objectives of this thesis was to explain the importance of regional history and its inclusion in education. Relevant specialized literature was thoroughly analyzed for this purpose. The inclusion of this topic is especially important in order for the pupils to better understand various historical phenomena through an environment which is familiar to them. Another important objective was to find out whether regional history is being taught at all at schools in the Kladno region, what forms are used for this purpose, and which topics are included. In order to find the answers a questionnaire was sent to the teachers and pupils in the Kladno region. The results suggest that the majority of teachers attempt to include regional history in their history classes, even when faced with unfavorable time allotment. Workers'and Trade Union Press in the Kladno Region in the Interwar Period

This master's thesis addresses the functioning of the workers' press in Kladno District during the interwar period (1918-1938). The theoretical part describes early days of mining and metallurgical industry in this region with a special attention being paid to the development of the Pražská železářská společnost and Poldina huť. Furthermore, this chapter outlines the growth of the town Kladno and its national composition until the end of the researched period. The chapter continues with providing a detailed description of work and private lives of Kladno workmen during the First Czechoslovak Republic. Trade unions and changes in legislation are discussed as they directly impacted the key professions in Kladno District - miners and steelworkers. Finally, the last section of the theoretical part is dedicated to the beginnings of the workers' press in the region, namely the paper Svoboda which played an essential role in this area. The practical part studies five titles from Kladno District, for which the local workmen constituted the target audience. The Winter Food Monitoring of Long-eared Owl (Asio otus) in Wintering Grounds

The aim of my bachelor's thesis is to monitor the diet of the Long-eared owl (Asio otus) in wintering grounds in selected localities in the Central Bohemian Region in the vicinity of the Kladno district. These are two localities that have been monitored before, so I continue on previous work with the same focus. The main focus is the collection, analysis of discards and its methodology. I also deal with the change of food of the eared owl during a certain period with a focus on the winter phase in connection with the temperature and the total precipitation in the given localities. The work also deals with the comparison of the results of monitoring the composition of the diet of the Long-eared owl in the same and other localities from previous research.

Undesirable Housing: So called 'non supplement zones' as a public policy problem

This thesis is a case study with a goal to comprehensively map and depict the evolution of the so- called non-supplement zones. This name is an abbreviated term that is used in media for the general provision authorizing establishing of areas of higher incidence of socially undesirable phenomena, where housing supplements are not to be payed to any new applicants. Bohemian and Moravian municipalities can make use of this measure since 2017. Thus they aim to fight the poverty industry and the problems connected with it. Additionally, a Constitutional Court decision on the appeal on this measure made by a group of senators is awaited since 2017. In this thesis, the problematique is viewed both on policy and politics level, both on national and local level, using the theory of the policy process, agenda setting, and the multiple streams theory. Under examination are also the levels of discourses and framing of the problem. To demonstrate a local context, there was chosen the case of the Kladno municipality, which holds a specific position in the context since it is the first city in the Czech Republic that decided to declare this general provision on its entire territory.
