Jirgl, Sebastian ; Hogenová, Anna (advisor) ; Semrádová, Ilona (referee) ; Svobodová, Zuzana (referee)
The dissertation The Phenomenon of Responsibility in the Postmodern Era discusses the phenomenon of responsibility in the context of the postmodern era. The issue of responsibility is viewed here primarily from a philosophical point of view. At the same time, the dissertation attempts a partial thematic overlap, in connection with the meaning of the selected concept of responsibility, within the ethics and particularly even other related social science disciplines. In the beginning, the basic problematics is set here. This discusses the etymological point of view and responsibility is subsequently given here in the connection of the context of terms such as freedom, response or ambiguity. Furthermore, the basic relationship is presented, in the context of the phenomenon of responsibility, and responsibility is also here confronted with the present. Subsequently, the approaches and theses of an important author of the 20th century, who systematically dealt with the phenomenon of responsibility, the French author Emmanuel Levinas, are particularly emphasized. The main thesis here can be characterized as an attempt to interpret and process the concept of responsibility, especially within the context of philosophical discourse. This is done mainly against the background of the thinking of Emmanuel...
Environmental starting points of the philosophy of hope
Malá, Adéla ; Semrádová, Ilona (advisor) ; Slaninka, Michal (referee) ; Strnad, Pavel (referee)
The text explains the phenomenon of hope from a phenomenological point of view, i tis an explanation of hope and its understanding in the context of human live. We know hope from a Christian perspective, such as salvation salvation, forgiveness, hope for eternal life. In the postmodern age, human existence has changed and hope needs to be thought through in new contexts. The question arises as to what is really hope. Althought it does not seem important, understanding hope and distinguising it is a condition of well-being of the individual and society. Hope must not be an illusion or a mere daily hope of fulfilling our wishes. Hope is above all action, it is not surrender and resignation. True, transcendent hope is born in deep crisis, pain, abandonment, it comes to us in patience, in the act of acceptance, reconciliation. Hope is an awareness of the future in spite of reality. Hope is perseverance, humility and mystery. Hope is joy, it is a force that comes to us from an unidentifiable place, but it spreads everywhere. Hope also relates to the existence of the whole world, to the responsibility for maintaining the conditions of life on Earth, to the dignified and fully lived life of individuals. Hope as a practical consequence in upbringing and education. The phenomenon of hope is analyzed here...

Enthusiasmos in thinking of ancient Greece. - This disertation thesis analyzes the issue of enthusiasm in the context of thinking of the Ancient and Classical Greece. In a theoretical manner also tries to gain an insight into the semantical structure of enthusiasm basing on historical excursus (the Ancient Age, the Classial Age) to support its historical transformation. It was enthusiasmos and the way o mantical explanation, which enabled the poets to create pieces of art and gave rise to performing and poetry art. This thesis aims to explore the philosophical reflection of enthusiasm, because the gift of divine presence itself, such as the inspired poetic speech, was in the Archaic period certainly guarantee of the truthfulness, but in the Classical period, was all the more reason for doubt and questions. Selected works by prominent authors of ancient mindset are systematically analyzed in the context of enthusiasm.
The Relationship of Translation Studies and Translation Didactics
Mraček, David ; Svoboda, Tomáš (advisor) ; Králová, Jana (referee) ; Semrádová, Ilona (referee)
The present dissertation explores the relationship between Translation Studies and translation didactics at theoretical level and as reflected in the teaching practice at selected Czech educational institutions. The dissertation, theoretical-analytical in its orientation, first seeks to define its key terms, profession, didactics, education and training, Translation Studies and translation theory, conducting cross-linguistic comparisons and outlining the past and present thinking about these concepts. Two typologies of translator training are offered, one based on education objectives, the other differentiating between diverse teaching contexts. A special chapter introduces translation didactics as a dynamic component of Translation Studies, discussing current trends in education research and outlining the institutionalization of translator training. Our attempt at defining the content of, and relationship between, Translation Studies and translation theory, the central concepts of the present work, suggested terminological and conceptual disagreement. The following chapters discuss the strongly multidisciplinary nature of today's Translation Studies, and the manifold sources thereof, pointing out the risks this may create to the internal coherence and public image of the discipline. The core...
Dostoevsky's Influence on the Death of God Theology
Kuthan, Robert ; Vogel, Jiří (advisor) ; Semrádová, Ilona (referee) ; Rybák, David (referee)
This dissertation deals with Dostoevsky's influence on Death of God theology. This is a comparative study that clarifies this influence against the background of how Dostoevsky's work was read and interpreted by some representatives of Dialectical theology. This study follows those themes of Dostoevsky's work which both theologies focus on and analyzes how they are interpreted within each theology. Both receptions of Dostoevsky are then compared not only against one another, but also against the original context of Dostoevsky's work. KEY WORDS: Dostoevsky, death of God, Death of God theology, Radical theology, Dialectical theology, Neo-orthodoxy, Altizer, Barth, Thurneysen, Hromádka

The Ontology of the Void
Intersubjectivity and postmodern society: On the phenomenology of the Other
Tlapa, Tomáš ; Pelcová, Naděžda (advisor) ; Rybák, David (referee) ; Semrádová, Ilona (referee)
The main topic of the doctoral dissertation Intersubjectivity and postmodern society: On the phenomenology of the Other is the problem of intersubjectivity. The work discusses the question of the other with the particular part of phenomenological thinking which does ask how we experience the other. Our starting point stems from the context of postmodern society, which we discusse in the first chapter ("The paradox of atomicity"). The aim of the second chapter ("Tacitness") is to enable us to phrase the question of the other properly. The third chapter ("Searching for the other in dialogue with Edmund Husserl") at first introduces selected fundamental concepts of the Husserl's phenomenology related to our topic (e.g. epoché) and then discusses the understanding of the other in Husserl's works Ideas Pertaining to a Pure Phenomenology and to a Phenomenological Philosophy - Second Book and Cartesian Meditations. The fourth chapter ("Breaches of harmony") is focused on such types of experience that problematize and disturb the altogether harmonic world of Husserlian intersubjectivity. We deal with the phenomenology of the blindness (Jana Moravcová) and the phenomenology of emotions (Jean-Paul Sartre). The fifth chapter ("Strange, weired eyes") uses the them of exile in the poetry of Josef Straka to...
The Cosmological Education by E. Fink
Dědečková, Eva ; Pelcová, Naděžda (advisor) ; Semrádová, Ilona (referee) ; Nezník, Peter (referee)
This thesis "The Cosmological Education by E. Fink" represents modified and extended text of the publication (2018), which was the result of the grant project GA UK. Through commented translations of the excerpts of Fink's books, parts of his diaries, unpublished notes from his written inheritance, stored in the University archive in Freiburg, this thesis aims to bring new perspective and to provoke discussion about his cosmological philosophy as a possible way of the future social self-development in the nihilistic era. The cosmological philosophy of education shows Fink, the best former student and assistant of the founder of phenomenology, Edmund Husserl, in a quite surprising light - as a radical thinker of Nietzsche's philosophical and educational legacy. Fink knowingly departs from husserlian phenomenology, what is closer described here in the additional chapter dedicated to the problem of technique, science and work. The method of the research intuitively seeks and critically reflects Fink's own way of thinking about the problem of education, which is inseparable from his constant dialogue with the history of philosophy, necessity of the revaluation of the metaphysical bounds and consecutive understanding of a man as ens cosmologicum, what reflects also the structure of the thesis.
