Do you know what a fish will do when it runs up a hill?
Elznic, Zita ; Štroblová, Kateřina (referee) ; Rathouský, Luděk (advisor)
Diploma thesis entitled Do you know what a fish will do when it runs up a hill? concerns the topic of industrial fishing. Formally, it is an installation that contains two parts. The first part is an oval object on which are attached mechanical fish, which form a moving flock. Using engines, they interact with each other and the viewer accompanied by the song. The second part includes three separate mechanical fish, which create a direct dialogue with the viewer. The installation is located in a white cube. The result is to give the impression that the fish are alive and, with the help of a human voice, get closer to the viewer. Title Do you know what a fish does when it runs up a hill? based on a child's joke. This sentence is characteristic of the topic, in that it is all nonsense. The fish do not run, do not move on land and do not even talk. An attempt at this joke to humanize fish is quickly over when you know the answer. Just clapping tells us how foreign this different world is.
Creative centre - Koprivnice
Křížová, Lucie ; Zdvomka, Ondřej (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
Right in the city center, there is a plot with old factory halls. These halls are fascinating and have great potential. But now, they are more of an obstacle. They form a barrier, they are in poor condition, and it robs the city of its values. In my diploma thesis entitled Creative Center in Kopřivnice, in addition to the design of the creative center, I will also deal with how to use the beauty and potential of these old halls, further, how to create beautiful and modernized buildings with a new value. I want to open the whole area, to create a place where people would like to meet and where various functions will be mixed- a place for fun, relaxation, culture, education or even just a shopping or walk. The work is very diverse - from the urban design of the entire plot, through the revitalization of old industrial halls and the layout of a new building, to the interior design of a new gallery.

Industry 4.0 as part of the public policy agenda in the Czech Republic
Bjaček, Jakub ; Kotrusová, Miriam (advisor) ; Vaceková, Gabriela (referee)
The topic of the diploma thesis is the development of the policy of Industry 4.0 in the Czech Republic. The main idea of this initiative is to respond to the coming fourth industrial revolution, which will affect not only the means of production, but also society. The concept of Industry 4.0 is thus very heterogeneous, affecting not only the change in the means of production and changes in the labor market, but also educational policy or the digitization of public administration. It is therefore an important issue that is the focus of the functioning of a wide range of actors in various areas of public policy. The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze the agenda of Industry 4.0 with selected main representatives who respond to this topic (from the ranks of formalized institutions). The question that the thesis tries to answer is what we can expect from the coming fourth industrial revolution in the Czech Republic and what threats, and conversely the benefits, can be expected. Especially in the labor market, which poses a specific threat to the Czech Republic, which is a highly industrialized state. The research part is focused on introduction of Industry 4.0 policies in the Czech Republic and its current form. The research was carried mainly through specific policy documents (strategies, action...

The role of foreign direct investments in the economy of Ghana
Acheampong, Anthony
Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) has a major role in enhancing economic growth and development. In Ghana, the prospects of attracting new FDIs is high because of its natural resources, low cost of production, and an economically active population age bracket. While scholars emphasized the need to attract FDI to facilitate the rapid economic development of Ghana, little attention is paid to the effect on specific sectors of the Ghanaian economy. The study examines the factors that attract the inflow of FDIs and its effect on economic growth. Using secondary data and quantitative method of analysis, in addressing the third and fourth objective of the study that examine a cause and effect relationship between the flow of FDI into specific sectors of the economy (Industry and Service Sector). We adapt the empirical model of Girma (2015). In our model, a multiple linear estimation technique is specified to examine the factors that causes the inflow of FDI into an economy. Based on our findings, the hypothesis that Ghana could potentially attract foreign direct investment through the building of human capacity and fostering economic growth and not entirely relying on natural resources as a driver of FDI inflow is partly true. We conjecture that FDI inflows into some sectors of the economy has harmed the economy both environmentally and socio-culturally. From the study, it was identified that FDI has contributed to job creation, GDP growth, and increase in the employment rate which has significantly improved the country’s economy. The thesis recommends the channeling of FDIs into comparative sectors of the economy and also should be guided at getting a chunk of FDIs into export oriented sector to help stabilize the economy.

Nováková, Pavla ; Štikar, Jaroslav (referee) ; Nový, Alois (advisor) ; Donaťáková, Dagmar (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis is based on an architectural study worked up in the fourth semester of the bachelor’s study during the subject Ateliér architektonické tvorby III – AG033. The aim of the subject was the design of an industrial object designed for the production of aquaria on an assigned parcel in the village Bukovany near Kyjov. Not only was there a need for the design of production areas, but it was also necessary to design areas for the production of related furniture, an administrative area and a showroom for the presentation of products. The objective of the thesis was the creation of a construction study, the documentation for the execution of the project and an architectonic detail for the designed building. The assigned parcel is located on the edge of the village of Bukovany, in a relatively calm part of the village surrounded by a football field, cemetery and a former agricultural area. The designed object is formed of 6 separated areas – an administrative area, an exhibition and entry area, a production area, a woodworking area, a storage area and a technical area. The building is formed of a ground floor and one underground floor. Structurally the building is designed on a 6-meter module and the mixed structural system is used. For lighting the areas continuous saddle skylights are used, which switch to vertical elements on the edges of the building. The surroundings of the building are landscaped, including a resting area with a small lake on the southern part of the parcel.

Maršálek, Filip ; Suchánek,, Petr (referee) ; Nový, Alois (advisor) ; Donaťáková, Dagmar (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with an architektural study of design studio of subject AG034 which was concentrated on production buildings topic. Target of this bachelor thesis is construction and design and functionaliti of production of branded clothing. The land which we want to build on is situated near by the Rokytova street in district of Brno-Židenice. In near surroundings are located for example city barracks industry buildings and warehouses or city cemetery. Location of whole building on the land is solved by placeing it in the centre of the plot because of its big dimensions. Local roads then simply surrounds the building from each side. Task of intended production building is create enough employment opportunities for local residents and finally to raise morale and level of local enviroment. The building is created in good technical solution for handicapped people and their job opportuniti. Concept of the building and whole production is primarily based on functional aspect. The building has got two aboveground storeys and her length is several times bigger then her width and height. The building plot rises between the southern and northern borders somewhere about twelve metres. Proposal and the total concept is based on this fact and manufacturing delivery is directly on the second floor where the production hall is located. On the second floor there is also a technical and storage part. The first floor is conected to the second by one employee staircase and the second which is determinated for public visit of the showroom on the second floor. The clothing showroom is set to the balcony and to the production itself. The first floor is designed as a five-stroke and contains every background for building and staff. For example there are staff changing rooms and offices and dining room with kitchen or buffet but also else technical background.
