Dejmková, Tereza ; Konrádová, Marcela (advisor) ; Shavit, Anna (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with targeting and positioning of the presidential election campaign of Petr Pavel and focuses mainly on addressing the youngest generation of voters, Generation Z. The 2023 presidential election was different in several ways, but one of them was, for example, the targeting of some candidates to Generation Z. The generation currently includes the majority of voters who participated in the presidential election for the first time, and who may also have followed it more closely for the first time. The aim of this thesis is therefore to find out to what extent the targeting and positioning of the campaign was adapted to Generation Z in the development of the strategy, and also to find out whether Petr Pavel was able to reach this target group through the campaign and through which steps he achieved this. The theoretical part of the thesis first describes and defines the tools of political marketing, characterizes Generation Z and the specifics of their voting behaviour. In the practical part of the thesis, the aforementioned tools of political marketing are applied to the campaign of Petr Pavel. The information for this part of the thesis was obtained from a personal interview with the marketing director of the Petr Pavel campaign, Martin Klčo, conducted by the author of the...

Chudá, Ema Lujza ; Rosenfeldová, Jana (advisor) ; Konrádová, Marcela (referee)
The thesis deals with the negative campaign of Andrej Babiš before the second round of the presidential elections in the Czech Republic in 2023. Specifically, it tries to find an answer to how the negative campaign of Andrej Babiš before the second round of the elections was perceived by the public and, in particular, whether it was one of the reasons for the failure of this candidate. Data obtained through quantitative research, specifically a questionnaire survey, showed that Andrej Babiš's negative campaign was perceived differently depending on voting behaviour in the second round of the elections. Voters of Andrej Babiš perceived his campaign differently than voters of Petr Pavel and respondents who did not participate in the second round. On the contrary, the answers of Petr Pavel's voters and respondents who did not participate in the second round were the same. The research also confirmed that Andrej Babiš's negative campaigning contributed to his failure in the second round of the election.

Weyrová, Dominika ; Hána, David (advisor) ; Shavit, Anna (referee)
This thesis deals with political billboards and posters in the city space before the elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in 2021. For the research purposes of this thesis, three cadastres with different compositions of usually living inhabitants (Stodůlky, Černý Most, and Dejvice) were selected and then compared with each other. The aim was first to examine the spatial distribution of the campaigns in these Prague cadastres, whether they differed in their frequency or even in the content of their messages. Next, the perception of billboards and posters in election campaigns by potential voters was investigated through a questionnaire survey, and in the last part, the strategies used by individual political groups when working with billboards and posters were examined. The first output was map displays, which showed differences in frequency in the selected cadastres, but content differences within cadastres were not noted in the research. Another output was the fact that people generally notice billboards or posters in the city space, some of them perceived rather positively, others rather negatively, but the vast majority of them rejected being influenced by them during the elections. The interviews with party representatives about deployment strategies...

Comparison of the communication of Andrej Babiš and Petr Fiala during the election to the Chamber of Deputies in 2021
Friedel, Gabriel ; Brunclík, Miloš (advisor) ; Mlejnek, Josef (referee)
The thesis deals with the comparison of Andrej Babiš and Petr Fiala's communication during the election campaign before the 2021 elections to the Chamber of Deputies. The specific subject of the research is the communication of both actors towards each other during the pre- election debates broadcast between August and October 2021. The thesis tries to answer the question whether Andrej Babiš used negative campaigning techniques to a greater extent than Petr Fiala. Thus, the theoretical part describes the key concepts related to negative campaigning. To analyse the actual communication during the debates, a method based on the work of William L. Benoit is applied, dividing both actors' statements into three categories: attack, praise, defence. The content analysis of the rhetoric of both actors in the debates and the classification of their statements into these categories shows that the negative campaign was applied to a greater extent by Petr Fiala and not by Andrej Babiš. Petr Fiala more often used attacks and critical statements, whereas Andrej Babiš was more often defensive in his statements. Thus, the theory of the challenger and the defender was confirmed at the same time. The analysis also showed that Petr Fiala more often than Andrej Babiš used attacks directed at the character of the...

Analysis of Facebook negative campaigns led by leaders of selected political parties before the elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in 2021
Mrázek, Patrik ; Shavit, Anna (advisor) ; Nečas, Vlastimil (referee)
1 Abstract This thesis deals with the analysis of the negative campaigns run by seven leaders of political entities before the 2021 Czech parliamentary elections. Specifically, it focuses on the content found on the Facebook accounts of Andrej Babiš, Petr Fiala, Marian Jurečka, Markéta Pekarová Adamová, Ivan Bartoš, Vít Rakušan and Tomio Okamura. Attention is paid to the form and frequency of negative advertisement as it is an integral part of the pre-election period and, in the examined elections, was employed often in the campaign's strategy. In the theoretical section, negative advertising is placed into the wider scope of current trends in political communication and is tied in with political marketing tools. In relation to the unclear definition of the phenomenon, a unifying definition is introduced. Negative advertising is then further separated into subtypes, introduced in the Czech environment, and connected with concepts and theories debating the extent and perception of the use of negativity and emotion in campaigns. The quantitative analysis of content generates statistical data, explaining the method in which negative advertisement is used, its subtypes and affective components. Based on this, it evaluates the extent of negativity present in individual campaigns as well as their emotional tone....
The role of media in contemporary society in terms of political decision-making (based on the example of the elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in 2021)
Pastrnková, Nela ; Stracený, Josef (advisor) ; Hauser, Michael (referee)
The thesis asks the question what role contemporary media play in Czech society in political decision-making. Its purpose is to stimulate the reader to think about what influence the media can have on us. The theoretical part covers the types of media, their effects and mass communication, including political communication. Space is also devoted to political marketing. Subsequently, an analysis of media content is carried out, as the aim of the thesis is to find out whether media messages published in selected types of media in the period of one month before the elections could have influenced the voters' decision-making in the elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in October 2021. Emphasis is also placed on the role the media play in our political decision-making in general. This objective is achieved through a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis of selected media content. Although the influence of other factors must not be neglected, it is important to remember that the media influence us both in everyday life and in political decision-making, as it is through the media that we receive a substantial amount of information. Therefore, we need to look at them with a distance, think critically about them and be aware of both their positives and...
