Jarošová, Sabina ; Vochocová, Lenka (advisor) ; Jirků, Jan (referee)
Diploma thesis Mediatization as a consequence of self-presentation on social networks: publishing norms and their influence on Instagram users explores how Instagram and its affordances are able to change the behavior of its users, focusing on the aspect of photo sharing and related publishing norms. The aim of this work is to find out the practices which users do with photos and because of them before sharing them on Instagram, but above all it is about deeper understanding of the detected behavior and exploring whether and how such behavior interferes with users' lives. Within the theoretical part, the reader is acquainted with the development of the image, the origin of photography, its manipulations and changes in the digital era. Furthermore, the thesis presents visual social networks, the principles of Instagram operation and findings from current studies on the topic of self-presentation on social networks. In the last part, I deal specifically with Instagram photography, its types, methods of editing and sharing, based mainly on two current studies on this topic, the authors of which are Lev Manovich and Elisa Serafinelli. The second half of the thesis presents the research methodology, its design, results and final summary.
Instagram Accounts of The Media in The Context of the News Values
Tichá, Radka ; Géla, František (advisor) ; Jirků, Jan (referee)
This diploma thesis focuses on the topic of Instagram accounts of media companies in the context of news values. It studies how selected media companies choose their content for Instagram accounts, and what news values are crucial to them when picking their posts. The aim of the work is the analysis of the dominant news values and the description of the specifics of Instagram contents. Using a combination of quantitative content analysis of Instagram posts of monitored media accounts and qualitative structured interviews with administrators and editors of Czech media newsrooms profiles, the author tries to answer research questions and confirm or disprove the hypotheses. The conclusions of the thesis show that the Instagram environment is highly competitive for news organizations with pressure on the speed and attractiveness of their posts. Therefore, the news media use various opportunities, which their Instagram account allows them, to satisfy their audience or attract new followers. However, the monitored sample does not confirm the existence of cross-prevalent dominant news values, or universal posts or topics that would be used by the media on Instagram.
A year in scout in photography
Pecháčková, Alžběta ; Géla, František (advisor) ; Slanec, Jaroslav (referee)
The theoretical part of this bachelor thesis is divided into four chapters. The first part consists of a short description of the history of the scout movement, furthermore, it conveys the circumstances of the origin of Scouting and its spreading all over the world. I pay attention to both the world and the Czech environment. The second chapter explains and clarifies the main ideas and values of the scout movement and its three "foundation stones" - the scout promise, law, and motto plus daily order. The third chapter presents some of the Czech Scouting magazines and their characteristics, however, the area of interest is focused only on currently published titles. I diverted from the thesis by adding another chapter about the media image of Scouting based on selected examples to keep the work up to date. The practical part is a book consisting of photographs that I took in the period from August to December 2020 on a summer camp and other scout events. The images are arranged in such a way as to outline the diversity of scout activities and so that readers can get an idea of what a normal day at a scout camp looks like.

Tracks in contemporary art
Houšková, Aneta ; Daniel, Ladislav (advisor) ; Bláha, Jaroslav (referee)
The diploma thesis as a whole deals with the topic of tracks in contemporary art. It is divided into three parts. Theoretical, didactic and practical part. In the theoretical part, I first define what a track means to me and I apply this definition when searching for tracks in the works of contemporary artists. The theoretical part of the work includes an interview with Patrik Proška, an artist creating some of his works in public space. In the didactic art project, created for high school students, the topic of tracks is viewed somewhat more freely. The main goal of the thematic unit is to lead students to think about tracks through their own artistic activity. Based on the experience gained, they should be able to think about the transience of the tracks, the meaning of our legacy and the consequences of our existence. I especially focus on the art area related to land arts and street art or graffiti. The practical part is the result of my reasoning about the tracks left in public space. I established my reasoning on the knowledge gained in the theoretical part. The result is a set of author's books that document my thoughts on the tracks found or created. I focused my attention mainly on the human desire to leave their tracks in the public space. KEY WORDS track, public space, art, land art,...
