Comparison of U.S. and Mexican approach to freedom of speech

Freedom of expression is a fundamental human right which is important not only for the intellectual integrity of an individual but also for the healthy development of the whole society. The work represents both general arguments for freedom of expression and codification of freedom in two different legal cultures. In the United States the freedom of expression is protected by the First Amendment of the Constitution, which complements the rich jurisprudence of the Supreme Court of the United States. In Mexico, the right is regulated in Article 6 of the Constitution. The work shows how both countries reached the current legislation on the basis of examination of legal developments and cultural values. The values of the societies are presented on the basis of Hofstede's cultural dimensions. The core of the thesis is to compare the legal limits, which is made primarily on the basis of judicial practice of the Supreme Courts of both countries. Emphasis is placed on four main areas which are related to freedom of speech: (i) fighting words including hate speech, (ii) symbolic speech, (iii) obscenity, and (iv) defamation. SŮVA, Jiří. Theoretical Foundations and Pedagogical Model of Ethics Education for Policing. Prague, 2014. Dissertation work. The Pedagogical Faculty of the Charles University. Department of Civics and Philosophy. The dissertation combines analytical passages with philosophical reflections focusing on the theoretical foundations of ethics education of police officers, especially in the initial education. Rather implicit theoretical basis of contemporary police ethics education is identified as psychologically overstressed, focused on the narrow sphere of common mores, limited by competence-based approach, and mainly as unclear as to the answering of the basic questions which can generate compact understanding of police ethics and its education in terms of its possibilities, objectives, content, means, etc. In four chapters of this work we can see an attempt to offer such answers in an integral pedagogical model. Education for patriotism in Czech schools

The key aim of this work is a method of patriotic education in our schools, mainly in the first grade of primary schools. The point of this work is to awaken patriotism in society again. In the first step we are informed about the important ideas that enable to develope the assumptions neccesary for the patriotic recognition and for an increase in patriotic feeling. The theory pays the attention to morality, influencing behaviour; for example, material and physical values and the aesthetic. It describes each historical term individually, from the beginning of national recovery during the first half of 19th century to the present days. It underlines the need to understand correctly the individual ideas and it points out the general chaos and risks of their interpretations in society. It recognises the important tasks that our society has to face to maintain the education of patriotism succesfully. The practical aspect contains the class discussions, interwiews and analysis of individual pupils, teachers, directors and it compares the level and quality of class debats with teacher`s attitude. The main thing was to find out the teachers' personal feeling about patriotism, his or her attitude towards its education and the way he or she communicates this during the lessons.

The study is focused on human beeing concept deals with the concept in John Amos Comenius work There are nine chapters each of them represents one part of his lifelong work. The first chapter contains basic information about Comenius, therefore his biographical details and link to today's world. The next chapter discusses the Unity of Brethren, that influenced his life and work. The following chapter is devoted to pedagogical thinking, which monitors developments and advances in pedagogy for the life of Comenius. Other chapters are devoted to his conception of philosophy, antropology and theology pansophism. The work outlines all the areas in which Comenius delas with man.

I will study the basic titles of works Consolation of Philosophy and essays devoted to partial topics and to the problem of education in the new Czechoslovak state. The theme of the analysis will be how Rádl thoughts were admitted to the society and how its thinking is valued today. Change in values ​​in children's literature from the renaissance to the present

Diplomová práce se zabývá proměnou hodnot v dětské literatuře od obrození k dnešku. Na začátku práce se pojednává o problematice hodnot a o významu dětské literatury pro rozvoj morálního vědomí žáků. Dále se práce zabývá proměnou hodnotové orientace ve společnosti v průběhu sledovaného období. V rámci interpretace děl dětské literatury, která byla dobově nejvýznamnější či nejčtenější, je ukázáno, jak se měnil pohled na morální normy a hodnoty v literatuře pro děti a mládež. V závěru práce jsou porovnány hodnotové rámce napříč zmíněnými tituly s přihlédnutím k subjektivnímu pohledu autora i hodnotové orientaci společnosti. Z výsledků práce jsou pak vyvozeny didaktické závěry, které mohou posloužit jako pomůcka učitelům při výuce občanské výchovy. Marriage in danger. The three different stories

The central task of this bachelor's thesis was to analyse three novels which were dealing with a motif of marriage and its possible dissolution. In the first part, the author adumbrated the topic of marriage, love and infidelity in general. Following chapters were focused on the analysis of individual novels from a literary, sociological, psychological and literary-historical point of view. The main aim was to compare the novels and the motif of marriage included in them.
