Johann Nepomuk von Harrach (1828-1909) was a Czech aristocrat remarkable for his involvement in culture, industry and politics. The aim of this thesis is to clearly describe Johann Nepomuk von Harrach and his relationship with the Czech artist. The thesis mainly analyses the correspondence between Johann Nepomuk von Harrach and Czech architect and patron Josef Hlávka and correspondence with the poet, and tutor of Nepomuk's son, Julius Zeyer. To illustrate the relationship and styles of communication of von Harrach more clearly, the thesis analyses the correspondence between Otto von Harrach, the son of Johann Nepomuk, and Julius Zeyer. The basis of the thesis is correspondence stored in the Literární archiv Památníku národního písemnictví. The subject of research is also count Harrach's communication strategy, which shows the difference between communication with a patron and with a poet. The Family of Jakub Deml in Letters and in his Works

The diploma thesis titled Jakub Deml's Family in Miscellaneous Letters and in His Work encloses an edition of letters of the writer Jakub Deml (1878-1961), which were delivered from him to his family. The correspondence of the years 1902-1961 comprises 81 letters. The mail explains many events which took place in the author's life, and it elucidates also several facts enabling deeper understanding of his work. An edition commentary, list of the mail, name register and annotation is attached to the edition of the correspondence. The supplementary commentary introduces the most important members of the author's family, deals with the reflections of the characters of mother and sister Matylda in the work and describes the form of the two kinship chronicles: V Zabajkalí and Mohyla.

Everything for brothers. History od family life in 19. century in example of Lambl's family

The Lambl's family was a part of the famous intellectual family in Bohemia in the second half of the 19th century. The Lambl's brothers were respected experts in their profession. František Sudimír became a highly educated economic officer, Karel Milan was a highly educated economic pedagogue, Vilém Dušan was a very famous doctor and Jan Baptista was a highly educated agricultural expert and at the same time he worked as a organizer of the economic school systém. Eight of the brothers and sisters lived to an adult age, four sisters (Marie, Barbora, Eliška, Anna) and four brothers. All the brothers got married and set up their own families, only one of the sisters - the youngest Ann, got married. The brothers and sisters took a part in the Bohemia patriotic life (for example Vilém Dušan was politically active in 1848, he was in correspondence, apart from others, with Karel Havlíček). The sisters then were involved in the women's society mainly. All brothers and sister made up a compact group for the duration of seventy years. They kept the warmly family relationships and supported each other. The brothers and sisters have not lost contact during their adult age. Louis Leger, mediator of the Czech-French cultural relationships

Key words: Louis Leger, Slavic studies, Collège de France, correspondence, policy, Frantisek Palacky, Frantisek Ladislav Rieger, Ernest Denis, Hanus Jelinek, Karolina Svetla, Sobeslav Pinkas, Jan Neruda. Abstract: Louis Leger, french Slavophile, Slavicist and promoter of Czech issues in France in the second half of the 19th century, led correspondence with leading figures of the French nation as well as with the personalities of the Slavic word. Leger's correspondence with the Czech national elite is evidence of his interest in the Czech issue. Correspondence written in Czech and French is stored in the Literary Archive of the Museum of Czech Literature in Prague. The aim of this thesis is to discuss the Leger's written correspondence and present its contents to readers with regard to the historical context.

The image of Islam in Czech massmedia

The objective of this paper is to analyse media representations of Islam in the Czech media using quantitative analysis and qualitative content analysis of media images as well as the correspondence between images and spoken text. The theoretical part of this paper describes the fundamental basis of Islam, its relationship to the Western world and its position in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the given section debates the founding knowledge posessed by the sociology of media in relation to the issue of media representation. The findings will provide the basis for follow-up research.

František Kožík's Biograpfical novels about Zdenka Braunerová Compared to the extant correspondence

BRAUNOVÁ, L.: František Kožík's biographical novels about Zdenka Braunerová compared to the extant correspondence /Master Degree Thesis/ Prague 2014, Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Education, Departement of the Czech Literature. This Master Degree Thesis compares Kožík's novels Na křídle větrného mlýna and Neklidné babí léto with the extant correspondence, which is used in different ways in both novels. The starting point was extensive research, which provided a precise undertanding of the author's intentions. The goal was to find out how the author forms the characters and their relationship using sources, especially the correspondence. At the same time this thesis delineates the difference between facts and fiction with an example of Kožík's novels.
