Application of AAC in Special Education for i-CT Framework

This bachelor thesis focuses on analysis of communication needs in special education during sessions with mental disabled people and also focuses on application, which addresses this problematic. Developed application enables users to create sentences by choosing picture symbols representing words or their own creating and subsequent voice synthesizing of constructed sentence. This application is designed for mobile devices with Android and iOS operating systems and was develop in accordance with " Computer as Therapy " design principles and serves as extension (add-on) for i-CT Framework, which encapsulates and simplifies interaction and management among applications designed for special education.
Sestem for removal of children speech defects

Speech is one of the basic forms of human communication and disruption of communication ability can negatively affect the life of man. deals with the elaboration of logopedic theory, which serves as a basis for the follow-up design and application creation in the field of speech therapy. The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter deals with the history of speech therapy with an emphasis on domestic logopaedia, the logopedic intervention process in its entirety, and the differentiation of individual types of impaired communication skills. The second chapter focuses on a specific disruption of communication skills - dyslalia.The application for the treatment of dyslalia is determined by the application, which is elaborated in the third chapter. The fourth chapter contains a detailed description of the designed and created application, including an explanation of the processes running in the application when the application is being used. The last chapter of this diploma thesis contains a summary of the results of the practical testing of the application together with suggestions for improvement of the application.
Possibilities of using art therapy to develop self-confidence in communication in children with communicative disability

Bakalářská práce se zabývá rozvojem sebevědomí při komunikaci u dětí prvního stupně s narušenou komunikační schopností pomocí arteterapie. V úvodní kapitole je podrobně popsána narušená komunikační schopnost a jaký má vliv na osobnost dítěte. Je zde kladen důraz na sebevědomí v komunikaci u osob s NKS. Druhá kapitola se zaměřuje na arteterapii. Popisuje jednotlivé formy, fáze setkání, metody, vymezuje cíle arteterapie a konkrétně arteterapii u osob s NKS. V poslední části je navržen arteterapeutický program cílený na rozvoj sebevědomí při komunikaci. Je rozvržen detailně do deseti setkání a zohledňuje specifické potřeby dítěte. Postupuje dle náročnosti. Hlavním cílem navrženého programu je nejen rozvoj sebevědomí při komunikaci, ale také odreagování a rozvoj fantazie. Applying Functional Behavioral Assessment at Kindergarten for Children with Communication Disorder

The diploma thesis is specially pedagogical and deals with the possibilities of applying functional behavioral assessment at kindergarten for children with communication disorder. The theoretical part describes the given issue of communication disorder and the development of the child's social-emotional skills. The theoretical part also describes the problem behavior and the concept of functional behavior assessment. The practical part deals with four case studies of preschool children with repetitive problem behavior. The purpose of the qualitative research is to verify the applying functional behavior assessment at kindergarten for children with communication disorder. The main research question of the diploma thesis is to find the possibilities of using the principles of functional behavioral assessment in the chosen kindergarten for children with communication disorder. Support in the education of pupils with developmental language disorder in mainstream primary school

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of developmental language disorder and the support of pupils with this disorder in the educational environment of a mainstream primary school. The thesis focuses on the characteristics of developmental language disorder, its etiology, symptomatology, diagnosis and therapy. It also addresses the specific speech, language and communication needs of school-age pupils and their development in the school environment. In the context of inclusive education, the principles of inclusive pedagogy and the possibilities of primary education for pupils with developmental language disorders are described, including support from school counselling centres and individual education plans. The main aim of the research work was to analyse the possibilities of supporting pupils with developmental language disorder in mainstream primary school. Distance form of speech therapy intervention in preschool children during the COVID-19 pandemic

The objective of this bachelor thesis is to analyze a distance form of the speech therapy intervention by preschool age children during the COVID-19 pandemic, reveal the problems and benefits appeared during its use. The text is composed the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part defines the field of speech therapy, the speech development, communication disorder in preschool child. This section also describes a telemedicine during the COVID-19 pandemic, a distance speech therapy intervention and a communication channels for its implementation. The practical part contains the results of research investigation. It consists of quantitative research, implemented using an online questionnaire and the qualitative research implemented using an interview with clinical speech therapist. During the pandemic, the therapist offered a distance speech therapy intervention using the videoconferencing.
Public Awareness of Selective Mutism

This bachelor thesis deals with elective mutism. Attention was paid to the definition, symptomatology and speech therapy intervention of this communication disorder, and above all to the analysis of the level of public awareness of elective mutism. Analyzing the level of public awareness of elective mutism was the main research objective of this paper. The motivation for investigating this issue was the fact that there is currently no research survey in the Czech Republic that would map the public's awareness of elective mutism. However, a higher level of public awareness of this disorder has a positive effect on early diagnosis, and early diagnosis positively affects the success of subsequent therapy. The research was conducted using quantitative research, with a questionnaire used as a research tool. The administration of the questionnaire was carried out online, data collection was completed after obtaining 200 responses. The obtained data were processed in the MS Excel program. Subsequently, two predetermined hypotheses were tested, one of them saying that the level of elective mutism awareness dependents on the field of education of the respondents was confirmed. Perceived quality of life of people with post-stroke communication disorder

The bachelor's thesis, whose main aim of the research is to analyse the subjectively perceived quality of life of people with post-stroke aphasia in selected areas, is divided into four main chapters. The first three chapters present theoretical findings on stroke and post-stroke communication disorders. The following topic is the presentation of the issue of quality of life. The last chapter includes the research as such, which has been focused on retirement-age individuals diagnosed with post-stroke aphasia. The qualitative survey was done using the triangulation method, which contained a questionnaire method supplemented by a semi-structured interview. The obtained data were analysed and subsequently interpreted in the thesis text. Research questions concerning selected areas of quality of life were answered in the following part of the work. The impact of communication disorder on the social relationships of persons with post-stroke aphasia could be considered one of the most problematic areas of quality of life. School maturity and preparation of the child the 1st grade from the point of view of speech therapy

This diploma thesis deals with speech skills, the skills associated with speech, and children's maturity and readiness for school before starting Year 1 of primary school. Besides, it discusses the methods applied in the children's preparation for school entry. The theoretical part of this work focuses on maturity and readiness for school, and on the other hand immaturity and unreadiness, their diagnosis and deferred school entry. Furthermore, it specifies the characteristics of a pre-school child, describing their motor, cognitive, social and motivational-volitional development. The last section of this part deals with a pre-schooler's communication, and with the language, speech and communication according to the framework educational programme for pre-school education. It also studies the development of communication, risk factors of speech development, communication disorders and a child with communication disorders in nursery school. The introduction to the practical part presents the objectives and the methodology of qualitative research and describes the research sample. Besides, it includes the process, evaluation, and results of a pre-schooler's diagnosis and of a preliminary test of a pre-schooler's maturity. Physical Education Lessons in Pupils with Developmental Dysphasia

The thesis focuses on the issue of teaching the subject of physical education to pupils with developmental dysphasia in Czech elementary schools. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and an empirical part. The theoretical part focuses on the terminology of developmental dysphasia and its classification, summarizes findings from the field of aetiology, symptomatology, diagnosis, and therapy. Subsequently, the thesis defines school age, older school age and further focuses on defining the subject of physical education. The empirical part of the thesis focuses on research, the main goal of which was to obtain information about the specifics of teaching physical education to pupils of older school age with developmental dysphasia in selected Czech elementary schools. The research was carried out by the method of mixed research using a survey with closed, semi-open and open questions. Descriptive statistics methods were used to analyse the data, and coding methods were used to process the data obtained from semi-open and open questions. 34 teachers participated in this research. Among the specifics of teaching the subject of physical education, the respondents mentioned difficulties remembering and understanding longer instructions, impaired coordination of movements and increased fatigue.
